LG GF-L706MBL 637L French Door Fridge

As with all LG appliances, this will look beautiful in anyones home. Its perfect in my kitchen. Externally its not as large as some american fridge freezers out there, but internal storage is plentiful. Easy to install and plumb in following the simple instruction booklet. The shelves are deep and the door shelves are double the width of those in a standard fridge. The cold air flow system seems to keep the food fresher for longer - especially fruit and veg. Saving a considerable amount of food waste. The shelves in the freezer are also deep and being shelves instead of drawers, everything is easy to see. Best Value Fridge for Most Families

Our trusty 15yr old side-by-side fridge died and needed a replacement. The main option was just getting another side-by-side or give the French door style a go. With lots of choices from various makes and models, we decided for this LG 637L 4-door French Door Refrigerator with ThinQ technology. 11 months passed, I can definitely say the new fridge is more suited for our needs. Aside from a good looking matte black colour fridge, other positives are the (i) slimly built ice and water dispensers (ii) with the soft-touch function keys that make it easy to use and set-up the fridge temperature, reset the water and air filters (iii) items placed on the door shelves are kept cold with the door cooling desgine (iv) fruit and veggie drawers which are on rollers keep the items fresh longer (v) provision of a shelve for tall bottles and two extra storages at the fridge bottom area (vi) the three bright LEDs one on top and two on both sides illuminate the entire fridge which help you easily find what you need (vii) the freezer LEDs are located below the fridge doors which lights up the freezer from the front for ease when you pull the drawer which are also on rollers (viii) easily replaceable water filter and air purifier to control fridge odours (ix) plumbed ice/crushed ice and not chilled water dispensers keep the fridge mostly close (x) overall the fridge shelves and drawer seemed toughened but easy to clean (xi) the outer finish does not readily attract dirt or finger prints.The negatives are minor like the (i) doors slums shut if not held (ii) ice/water dispenser tray and bottom left fridge indented handle hold on to dirt quickly than most. Our experience is there no point in paying extra for the door on door and screen door models as the fridge performance is the same in my opinion.

Best of buy within Budget Price

I believe we bought the best Regrigerator in the market under 3k price tag. Very innovative usage of space inside which is awesome. Didn't waste an inch inside for the auto ice maker technology which is common in all other brand in the market, in that regards LG has done very well. Very happy with the cooling performance, definitely recommend to all to purchase this Refrigerator if dont want the Touch Pad Screen on the external panel. Otherwise we have got everything we need in a Refrigerator. And offcouse once you are an LG cuctomer you have got backed up by fabouloous LG support team doesn't matter when you have purchase the applinace

Cheaply made with $$$ price tag

Purchased this fridge after repeated failures in Samsung and Electrolux fridges. With very limited options available, decided to give LG a go. This is an expensive fridge cheaply made. 2 weeks in and the water dispenser intermittently stops working. The touch panel control also seems to work when it sees fit. The temperature display is also inaccurate - having checked with two other thermometers and finding it off several degrees. Inside the fridge, the door pockets are not adjustable and have poor depth, which results in items haphazardly stored and, most annoyingly, tall bottles need to be stored on their side.

This is a poorly designed and made fridge. Pieces of ice in the ice box continually fuse together forming a massive block due to a leak from the ice making unit. This requires that the ice container is removed and emptied, because the dispenser won't work. The door hinges are poorly made, one of the doors doesn't remain open (water dispenser/ ice box door), so requires one hand to hold it while you dig about in the fridge. The other door is poorly weighted and slams on closing under it's own weight. The open door alarm activates within 10-15 secs of opening the door and is highly annoying when you are trying to unload your groceries. Water dispenser will intermittently just not work! We upgraded from an 8-year-old LG SxS fridge of about the same capacity and we find that the French door format is more flexible for storage of various sized items. In addition, opening both doors enables you to see all fridge contents at a glance - good for finding 'lost' items- and the lighting is great. We had the door-in-door facility in the old fridge but we don't miss it with the new one. The freezer section has drawers only, but they slide out easily and give good visibility of the contents. The water/ice dispenser is uncomplicated and easy to use. We chose the black finish because our old fridge was stainless steel and it rusted around the ice/water dispenser (not covered by warranty) so we thought the extra cost for ss would not be worth it. Great fridge

We love our new fridge! Our old fridge was a French door but didnt have a water or ice dispenser. It also was colder at the back than the front and fruit/veggies didnt keep well. This fridge keeps everything fresh for a long time and its obviously colder when you open the door (old fridge was set at the same temp). It has a fruit compartment and a vegetable compartment, both with adjustable air vents, but theres no meat compartment though theres plenty of shelf space. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because the water is dispenser only, not a chiller and I wasnt advised of that when choosing a fridge. The water is slightly chilled though, so although thats perfect for me, its not for the rest of the family, they were expecting really cold water. We still are ... MoreWe love our new fridge! Love the Look

Have had fridge for a couple of weeks now and overall are really happy with it. With previous fridge you would lose items to the back which resulted in food expiring and having to be thrown out. Now with the shelves in the fridge part you can clearly see everything. Only issue is not a great amount of space for taller food items, such as 2l milk container.. Fridge has a split shelf that you can use but some condiments dont fit too easily in the door shelves. Very happy with freezer. The pull out drawers are great and I havent used up all the space as yet. Ice and water dispenser are also very good.

Thank Goodness

After 2 failures with another brand of french door fridge with ice/water ..........YAY! So very happy with the LG purchase. This unit has the in-door ice making unit, which is unique to LG. We are delighted to be able to open the compartment and check the level of ice that has been made and is stored. Then we can switch it off to stop ice making or leave it on (there is a little flick switch with I / 0 - on/off). This avoids any issue with over making ice and it clumping. After 5 years of trying to make the other brand a success, and ultimately ending up with an irreparable item we are really, really pleased with this unit!

Water and ice on tap, what more could you want?

I have always wanted a plumbed fridge and after looking at many options settled on this one. Installation was simple, the packaging was really good, took longer to remove it all than to install the fridge. We had ice long before the estimated 48 hours. There is so much room to organise the freezer and fridge into categories. I have used the water and ice daily and life is just so much easier. Would highly recommend this fridge. Still have to get used to opening the doors by grabbing the bottom of the doors.
