Bought this 2weeks ago. Today it has stopped heating. It turns on but does not heat anything up the slightest bit. Extremely Angry and Unimpressed. Will be getting a full refund tomorrow. Bought this after my Samsung blew up after about 10yrs, thought this would be better with the reviews, but will definitely going back to Samsung. Never again will I purchase an LG anything

This Microwave is a Joy. It's Dark,it's Stylish, it's Super Quiet and Sophisticated not only in Design but Simplicity of Function. We are all used to Microwaves that are rather Simplistic in function, however, this LG Surpasses a lot of the Rudimentary functions with Advanced Scensors, and, Inversion Tech, yet is Sophisticated. It is best to read the Instruction manual and Experiment a little to realise it's full Potential. After a bit of Playing Around, 'Why not, it's Your Baby ', You will find it a Breeze I really love the fact that it's so quiet you hardly even know it's on! I love the inverted scroll pull handle. I just brought this. But it is much slower than a cheap old 900W microwave I have for anything but a 3 minute job. On investigation it only appears to be outputting 1200 for literally 40 seconds before it ramps down. My 3 minutes, it is outputting less than 900W, at around 10 minutes it is outputting 600W, and at 20 minutes it is cycling on and off and only outputting 400W. See attached photo. Is my microwave faulty and I should take it back to the shop for a replacement to fix the issue? Or is this the way it works, and I should take it back and get a refund as clearly it is not the 1200W I was led to believe when I brought it?

We had to make a sudden purchase of a new microwave, after our 20 year old one blew up on Mother's Day (great timing - NOT!). This had done extremely well in a recent Choice survey and after comparing sizes and ratings, we went ahead. As a microwave it works very well. It isn't as simple as our old one, naturally, so the learning curve has been greater than expected, but no real problems. My big complaint about it is the music it plays at every step. When the power turns on, when the cycle finishes, when the cycle has been finished for a minute and every minute after that!!!! The entire family was unanimous that the music had to go! We finally found a button combination that worked to turn off *all* tones, so now it doesn't beep at all, even when finished. The other ... With the music, it loses a star.
Great build quality and microwave power. My only small complaints are a) The only way to set the clock is to turn it off at the wall and back on again. b) There is no timer feature at all. c) The annoyingly loud “song” that plays when it’s finished, this should be configurable back to a standard “beep”. These all seem like a pretty big oversight given how easy, cheap and useful these features would be to build in, and detract from an otherwise excellent product. Otherwise if these don’t seem like a big deal (which of course they aren’t) then this product is an excellent purchase and can highly recommend
The LG Microwave looks great and worked well for the first 12 months, however it stopped working and would not heat. This was covered under the 2 year warranty period. Features on the oven are lacking compared to a previous model that is still running after 5 years without fault. There is one function that this model does not have and I used every day on the previous model and that was a Porridge cook setting. Cooking time settings are limited to 10 second adjustments for the first 2 minutes, then 30 second increments after that. This does not allow a more accurate timer setting for certain cooking styles. This may not be a model I would choose if replacing a microwave, but saying that it may appeal to someone that only requires something basic.

Brought stainless steel 42L 3yrs ago. Paid extra for 4yr warranty. 3yrs then suddenly stopped heating. Took back to jb-hifi Bundall & exchanged under warranty. JB give me a black one which was stainless they said. Box label said white. 4wks later done the exact same thing. Suddenly stopped heating. Took back & got refunded my money after an extensive disagreement & argument with JB who tried giving me store credit instead. If u decide to purchase make 100% sure to get extended warranty.

What if you have a small amount of food that needs 15 seconds? Sure I could set 30 seconds and 50% power, but that is more time consuming to set up and also takes longer to cook. 2) Given that it does only increments in 10 second lots, it would have been good to synchronise the platter with the timer, so that if you put in a cup of coffee near the door, for 30 seconds, it would come back to infront of the door at the end of each 10 second cycle - but it doesn't. The 30 second cycle often has the cup at the back, meaning you have to reach right in to retrieve it. This is frustrating ... I decided to give this machine a shot. People complained about setting the clock ..... really ..... its in the instruction manual, read it ..... but not only is it in the instruction manual its so intuitive that you can figure it out easily ..... People complained about the tune when its finished ...... get over it, it only runs for a few seconds and less annoying than dings or beeps that microwaves keep repeating to get your attention. How wrong I was .... this Microwave is simply awesome ..... Its Compact and extremely simple to use, and like most Kiwi's the first thing I microwaved was a Pie for my Teenage son, who seems to be able to ingest food constantly without adding a gram of fat ...... Well the Bosch would do this in 3 Minutes, heating from the outside in ..... sometimes it would still have a cold spot in the middle so would go back for another 30 seconds or even sometimes 1 minute ..... LG 2 minutes, cooked through and even ...... "Perfect" Sliding touch interface for cooking time is great and simple to use, or push start button for 30 second increment ..... easy peasy ! So in our household we normally use 2 Microwaves and an Oven as My partner and I both have a Commercial cooking and catering Background .... we work the appliances hard, bulk cook and reheat just as we would do in a commercial kitchen, so we know our appliances .... and what works and what doesn't For $339 ..... the LG 42 Litre Microwave Rocks, its "Fast, Compact and Easy to Use !!
