Got it on sale for 189$ and i must say for under 200 it is a really decent 1080P 165hz gaming monitor, but unfortunately LG hs just lost 1 star from me on this product all because of the fact that they didn't include something as simple as an HDMI cable inside the box even though i saw multiple unboxing's and even the manual said it should come with one but i looked everywhere in the box & packaging and there was no HDMI cable but only a displayport cable and as i was using this with a gaming laptop that only has an HDMI output that was completely useless to me.The product was certainly new, so maybe they no longer make them with an included HDMI cable in canada or it's a manufacturing error, nevertheless i was very disappointed as i didn't have one and i couldn't ... This monitor has excellent visual quality and I prefer the borderless design. I use this monitor for work as well as for photo editing. I have a similar monitor from the same brand, and the two monitors side by side don't look much different. The biggest difference for me is that this monitor does not have an adjustable height base, meaning I cannot adjust it to be the same level as the other monitor or as my laptop on the stand. I tried the LG UltraGear 24GQ40W Monitor and it would be great for a student and for others. It has a great borderless design and helps with visual fatigue. The design of the monitor is pretty slim and great for a small desk. I have a variety of devices. I connected this to my laptop and to my video game console to try it out. It worked great with both devices. The UltraGear technology made the experience great and the refresh rate kept up with the new games. The video quality is really good and the ability to see my photography in detail was a plus. The monitor runs smoothly. This is my true honest opinion of this product.
The LG UltraGear 24GQ50F-B is a great all around monitor for any setup. As someone who is an avid gamer, this monitor is the PERFECT size for online gaming. This monitor is a well preforming monitor for a budget. The blacks are very dark and the colors are okay. The refresh rate is very fast. There isn't any input lag or studder. The inputs are very standard for monitors today. Two HDMI, one DisplayPort, one audio port and one power input. The only real downside to the monitor is the 1080p resolution but for being a fairly cheap monitor, it's not too much of a big deal. The use of AMD's Free sync is very good if you have an AMD graphics card and it preforms very well. I had no screen tearing when playing AAA games.Overall, this monitor is fantastic if you are looking for a cheap but very well preforming gaming monitor.
This LG monitor is simple and easy to setup. I use it as an addition to my existing work setup along with a 32 inch monitor and this monitor is a great addition. While I don’t do any gaming, it does provide me another monitor to help multi task. It has a great picture and handles video well as all the usual task I need for a second monitor. There are several different modes but the joystick menu control is a little difficult getting used to. I do prefer using physical buttons but this style helps to make it sleek. The monitor doesn’t take up too much space on my smaller desk but it stand up well and can make a great addition to any person needing a monitor.
