I am so pleased to have purchase the Line 6 Helix LT! After decades of multiple pedal pitches and trades I now have it all in one convenient setting. This baby is so easy to use and has more options than I'll ever use! Incredibly intuitive..and for someone not very technologically advanced..it's amazing. I still love my Vox AC 15 HW and pedals but for the last few gigs...I throw the Helix LT on my back..grab my guitar and head out the door. Set up in less than 5 minutes into the house!

This is a very good unit for the money especially if you're buying the blemished/demo model however there are a few things you need to know and properly set this up to be able to use all the functions and create your own presets. What they don't tell you when you buy this is that it is locked in demo mode (joystick enter button will not work) as it was probably used in the store. You'll know if it is locked in demo mode when you power it on and the version of firmware listed has the word demo next to it.. Also, mine only came with the unit wrapped in brown packing and a power cord thrown in the box, there was no USB cable, manual, or anything else. This really was no big deal as you can download a manual from the line 6 website, And before you buy a USB cable you ... This really was no big deal as you can download a manual from the line 6 website, And before you buy a USB cable you might already have one that works such as using a printer usb cable which is what I did. In order to unlock this from demo mode and to be able to use the unit's functions, follow the simple steps to update the firmware and it will automatically unlock demo mode. It took me a few days watching videos and reading articles to figure out how to do this is there a lot of information that can be confusing, but this is the simplest way.1. Go to the line 6 website and click on the download button. Make sure your unit is not plugged into your PC with the usb cable at this time.2. At the top of the line 6 download page are three gray boxes, under the "hardware" box, choose "Helix LT", under the middle box "software" box choose "HX Edit", under the last gray box choose your "operating system". Then download. This will download everything you need to update the firmware, drivers for your PC, and also download and install the line 6 updater.3. After all of that has download it, connect your USB cable from the helix to your PC, then click on the line 6 updater icon on your PC home screen, choose your helix LT, Then it should take about 15 minutes to update your unit. After that your demo will be unlocked.

I had a Pod Go and didn't see the point of upgrading as I am a home user only. The LT has advantages but for me it wasnt worth the upgrade. That's changed now with the new update making the cabs sound great. I was running out of DSP on the Pod Go more and more as well and it has the old cab sounds. I was running out of space on Pod Go for patches, well the Lt has way more room for those. It can double and treble up amps and cabs as well. More footswitches, bigger better screen and more options in general and the price I got ti for was bettet han anywhere else thanks to PMT Online. I had to go for it with all the pluses and the price being a no brainer and I am so glad I did. Its just better than the Pod go in every way. I am actually suprised how heavy and well ... I am actually suprised how heavy and well built it is for a supposed Light version of the Helix and the space between footswitces and wah etc is just more comfortable to get around than the Pod Go. I wish I had bought this and not the Pod Go but then again when I got the Pod Go the LT was probably 240 quid more than I got it for, so goos things come to those who wait I guess. Sure you could find other effects units that maybe be slightly better for amps and others for affects but the Helix range is the all rounder, it does everythign I want and it has a built in wah wah. So there's that! that all the other don't have as far as I can see.

You already know what this is and isn't. If you're looking at it as a full on amp replacement, don't. If you're looking at it as a solid device for situations where an amp is not allowed, then it works well. It's bigger, older, and heavier than some of its competitors, so there's that. But it does sound good. Line 6 website could really use some organization, but the community is great. That's really this things saving grace.
What an amazing product this is! Extensive accurate IR based amp modelling and multiFX with an intuitive user interface. Solid build quality. This product has transformed my guitar playing; allowing me to pull together all the sounds I’ve always wanted (eg the clean, warm and overdriven legendary Soldano SL-100 head based sounds), tweak where I want and level match for smooth switching during live performance. My only criticism is it does not come with a soft case (which are available).
If you love amp/pedal modelling, this is a great board for you. With the massive amount of amps, cabinets, and effects that come with the Helix LT, you can get virtually any sound you want out of it. You like soaring leads, got it. You want high gain chugs? got it. Good cleans for Jazz? yup. You can even access their online preset site to check out what patches other people have made. Literally any sound is possible from this device.I will say if you are JUST getting into amp modelling, look for something a little smaller than this, as this does have a huge learning curve and can be very complicated for beginners.
This is a great bit of kit! Used it in rehearsals and for one show so far, so I can't really comment on the durability aspect, but everything else has been really good.Being able to DI out from the Helix, straight to FOH has meant the tone I've set up, is actually the tone when playing live. I have a standard out to an amp on stage, just so I can feel the rumble and air push to give a bit of grounding, rather than just relying on the stage monitors. The LT is more than enough for me, rather than the full Helix, so I think with the same functionality it is more than worth the money.Annoyed I haven't done this sooner!
Helix LT replaces my very well used POD HD 500, which I used for live performance (4 cable FX hookup usually, and modeled amp/cab through PA occasionally), developing and recording backing tracks (modeled signal direct to DAW), and recording stem tracks for other artists (modeled and dry signal direct to DAW).Helix functionality is similar to POD, but Helix is an entirely different class. Helix amp/cab/FX models are dramatically more realistic than POD and are actually close to the real deal in terms of touch sensitivity. The Helix is also incredibly transparent with virtually no coloration or signal degradation, unlike some of the POD models and FX. The Helix is also incredibly transparent with virtually no coloration or signal degradation, unlike some of the POD models and FX. I/O on the Helix is versatile allowing a multitude of outputs and path creation including straightforward digital output of the dry signal for later DAW processing. User interface is well thought out, with visual signal path representation on a large screen, and blocks and signal paths that can be easily dragged around into different configurations. The hardware is significantly upgraded as well. Case construction and switching seem to be much more robust than the POD (whose buttons and switches were failure prone) and color coded led rings around each foot switch give visual cues as to switch function.I was able to set up my basic live performance (4 cable) presets and within a couple of days, feel comfortable enough with the Helix to use it in performance (except everything is on covid lockdown now!!) But I've had the advantage of using POD extensively for almost 10 years. If you are new to this type of pedal board, plan to take some time to learn how to work Helix. Its also pretty expensive, but the results are worth the time and effort.
