I think Lodge products are great! Heat them up back off the heat a little once heated and cook away! Durable and yes they are non-stick when you season themThis my sunny side up egg skillet, melt butter pan, grill cheese press, individual cornbread/biscuit maker, slider maker (burger), breakfast serving griddle. Love it.

I love these little skillets. They are the perfect size to spoil yourself with a generous helping of pizookie or skillet brownie (go all out and add a scoop of ice cream on top, it's a must). It's also a good size to share with someone else for a less-decadent sized helping. As always, Lodge has great quality products, even for small and cute "niche" items like this skillet. It would also be nice to make sides in, like individual servings of mac and cheese or brussels sprouts.

I'm biased for Lodge cast iron. Great product for the price. . It's well pre-seasoned but I like a bit more. I've over oiled skillets in the past and they went to goodwill when the oil started flaking off. Now I follow the seasoning directions of The Culinary Fanatic on youtube and although I don't remove the pre-seasoning as he does it works out perfect. Get the skillet warm in a 200 degree oven. lightly coat with crisco. Do this two or three more times and the skillet will be seasoned perfectly. After cooking it. Allow to cool. Wash/scrape in warm water - preferably no soap. Rinse in cold water. Lodge 13cm Skillet (Baby skillet)
15 October 2019

I bought this skillet for the purpose of cooking single fried eggs. It is big enough for one egg only. I use it on my Weber Spirit II BBQ to make breakfast or egg burgers. It comes preseasoned but I reseasoned twice to make a truly non-stick coating. This baby skillet is reserved for my BBQ as I have other Lodge skillets. I swear by this brand and if you look after it it will be an heirloom to be handed down to the next generation. I do suggest buyers of skillets look at Cowboy Kent Rollins on seasoning cast iron and care. If you do you will have it for generations of use. 5 Star buy!

Lodge Cast Iron Skillet 17"

Product arrived quickly and undamaged. The cast iron pan is well constructed and good quality. After seasoning, I've been able to cook a number of dishes without sticking. A little big for the stove top, but great for the oven and top of the bbq.

Love this 17" pan

We own smaller Lodge cast iron pans but this very large one, although maybe heavy for some, is wonderful to cook in for large families. Big enough to flip pancakes and fry up a whole packet of bacon. It fits in the oven, in the smoker and will use it on our outside fire! Great value, received in perfect condition really quickly! I would definitely buy from this company again

Versatile piece of cookware

I find this pan is of the best size and has most uses on my gas stove in home. I can cook all kinds of meals from breakfast to dinner, from frying eggs to making vegetable stews. Its size extend the use to deep frying and grilling. I use it to grill burger meat, vegetables, asparagus... etc. Its size is good for deep frying mushrooms dipped in batter or frying a good batch of potatoe fries. I even make sandwiches using it, panini, grilled cheese, french toast. Sometimes I pop it into oven and use it as bakeware. Its size is perfect for upside down cakes, deep dish pizza, corn bread or Dutch baby... This pan has good weight to preheat well and bake evenly on stovetop or in oven. I can achieve good results of making pancakes, tortillas or naan just on stovetop with this pan preheated to the temperature to my liking. Oh its use is just endless... Best value one can get out of all kinds of cookware. This site has an extensive set of gadgets one will ever need for his/her home kitchen use ( of course commercial too ). IMO, highly recommended as the first piece of cookware for anyone who wants to become a home chef. Just a reminder : This pan comes well pre-seasoned but requires a bit of tendering after. The easiest way to keep it in best cooking condition is to clean out the debris under a running tap while it's still warm then wiped dry or dried on a hot stovetop after cooking; wip the entire interior clean using a piece of lightly oiled paper towel when the pan is heated up before cooking. That's it and it's quality is guaranteed to last one's lifetime or generations. Best investment I made ever. Last but not least: If one gets tired of indoor cooking, the investment is preserved by taking it to other cooking occasions such as tailgate party, camping or just backyard. Its ruggedness makes it a good piece of cookware regardless of gas, bed of hot coals or just barbecue grills.

Works fine but has limited uses

Lodge preseasoned cast iron skillets are well known as good cookware. This one does two eggs or one pancake and that's all. Suggest you get the 10", which is very useful and not too heavy/clumsy. The 6" takes a few minutes to get hot, the handle is very hot too so wear a mitt. comes pre seasoned but recommend you season it anyways.
