Lodge Blacklock Cast Iron Double Burner Griddle 51x25x3cm Introducing the premium range from Lodge. Blacklock is a triple seasoned for a natural non stick finish. Lodge first introduced foundry seasoning cast iron on the market place. The pre-seasoned pans took out the initial stage of having to season your pans first before using them The New Blacklock range has taken it one step further by baking three layers of seasoning onto each piece so it arrives already naturally non stick. Blacklock is also 25% lighter than the standard lodge pans, but still made with high quality and durable cast iron. With added comfort in mind, Blacklock have reinvented their primary handle. The main handle on each skillet comes with a cool-V cut out in the centre of the handle to allow airflow and will keep the handles cooler for longer. Each piece has been commemorated with a special stamp on the base that represents a historic moment in Lodge Cast iron cookware time frame. The Double Burner Griddle is marked with the number 77 on the base. This marks the year that Joseph Lodge married his Wife Anna Elizabeth and 100 years later their grandson reconstructed the foundry and kept the workers employed through a tough economic time.

We have a large grill and I was hoping to put both this and a 16” round lodge on it, but can’t. So this one stays on gas stove in kitchen. I am becoming a big fan of the cast iron as the cooking temp seems to-be consistent throughout. One draw back, Lodge really should sale a case for each of their products, to make it easy to store or take out camping,

I’m not happy with this purchase. The griddle cracked after one year of use. It had never been dropped and used daily. I do not recommend this griddle.

This griddle is the perfect size for a 2 burner camp stove. We brought it to a tailgate and cooked sliders on it. The handles are perfect and it is lighter for traveling with it. Love it!

I bought this griddle to replace a nonstick griddle that I had had for years. This griddle is rustic compared to Staub or Le Creuset products, I bought it because it suited my needs, it was affordable and it is American made. I have used it to make English muffins and French toast. When you use it on gas burners there is a cooler area between the burners on the griddle. That is obvious, you have to move your food around from the hottest to the less hot area of the griddle. My food turned out great on this griddle! I would recommend this griddle to anyone!
I purchased this back in Jan 2020. I have used it dozens of times since and regret purchasing it every time I use it. Using low to medium heat on a gas stove, I can only cook directly over the part of the griddle that sits over the heat. If I try and cook pancakes or french toast on this I have to cook them one on each side. It has to be directly above the heat source. When I cook more than one on each side I have to rotate the pancakes like the seconds hand of a ticking clock otherwise I will end up with a cooked on one half and raw on the other or burnt on one half and maybe cooked on the other product. For grilling meat and veggies, again you are limited by the area that is directly above the heat source. I strongly recommend against buying this product! In an ... In an effort to make this product lighter in weight they made a product with terrible hot spots. Do not buy, you will regret it every single time you have to stand there and play hop scotch with your food as it burns or undercooks on this griddle!
This griddle is not induction compatible, despite the insistence of Williams-Sonoma rep responses to the negative reviews. To clarify to the Williams-Sonoma rep who reviews this review:-This has nothing to do with the use of bridge elements, as proven in my video where I am attempting to use my bridge elements and it faults (flashes).-When another reviewer cited the griddle not being sensed by their induction elements, the Williams-Sonoma rep implied they should “add a little more weight to help trigger the sensors.” This is nonsensical. Induction coils simply try to sense magnetic material, it is not a weight sensor.-The photo I attached shows the ridges on the bottom of the griddle. Induction coils simply try to sense magnetic material, it is not a weight sensor.-The photo I attached shows the ridges on the bottom of the griddle. This is the sole reason it is not induction compatible. Since the bulk of the magnetic material (in this case, cast iron) is elevated too far above the induction coils, the griddle cannot be sensed and fails to engage the coils. To clarify further, although my range is occasionally able to sense the griddle and turn on, it heats extremely unevenly as the induction coils are literally only sensing the tiny surface area that comprises the ridges on the bottom of the griddle and heating them.I should have read the reviews before purchasing, as my Williams-Sonoma is an hour away and I’ll need to make a special trip for the return.PLEASE AMEND THIS PRODUCT LISTING TO SHOW THAT IT IS NOT INDUCTION CAPABLE!
As a few others have mentioned, despite assurances from Lodge and Williams Sonoma, this griddle does not work on Induction cooktops. The bottom is not flat and not enough metal is close enough to the surface of the stove. I tried it on my stove, then went to the appliance store and confirmed it on their show-piece as well. I don't know Lodge or W-S are arguing with customers over this, they obviously have not tested it nor do they understand how induction works. Frustrating part is all the cast iron griddles out there are either A) Do not have a flat bottom or reversible B) Do not fit double heating elements
Perfect for outdoor cooking on the grill. We use it for sautéed meats that you want a high heat to glaze the sauce but not all the lingering smell or smoke indoors. Makes our outdoor grill more versatile.
Purchased as I wanted a flat plate rather than a griddled plate. I was a bit hesitant as it is lighter weight than most cast iron products but wasnt disappointed. It heated up quickly and seared meat perfectly. It’s large enough to cover 2 rings on a hob and plenty of room to cook other things at the same time. It will easily accommodate a full English breakfast for 2. There is a slightly cooler spot on the griddle in the middle if placed over the 2 rings but it’s not an issue. It does seem an expensive item but it’s made to last many years as long as seasoned regularly. Would highly recommend.
Was skeptical about purchasing this as reviews have been mixed but very happy with the performance over a gas burner. It is long but not as wide as what I first anticipated despite knowing the dimensions. Will be trying on the BBQ this weekend for smashed burgers.
