Lodge Enameled Cast Iron Oval Dutch Oven, 7-Quart, Oyster White
A flawless pairing of form and function that doesn't quit, the Lodge Dutch Oven is an enameled cast iron classic that's great for preparing and serving memorable meals. WHAT IS PORCELAIN ENAMEL ON CAST IRON? It is actually glass that becomes bonded to the cast iron at high temperatures. A particulate of glass, called frit, is applied to the cast iron vessel and then baked at temperatures between 1200 and 1400 F. The glass frit melts and fuses to the cast iron, forming a bond. Porcelain enamel on cast iron is heat tolerant and impervious to water and other consumables. MAKE EVERY MEAL A MEMORY. Lodge knows that cooking is about more than just the food; its about the memories. FAMILY-OWNED. Lodge is more than just a business; its a family. The Lodge family founded the company in 1896, and they still own it today. From environmental responsibility to community development, their heads and hearts are rooted in America. All Lodge seasoned cast iron and carbon steel cookware is proudly made in the USA, meaning youll get craftsmanship that has been passed down through generations. This Lodge dutch oven meets all my expectations! I loved it as soon as I took it out of the box! The shape & color of the pot are so pretty and the quality is apparent. Even before I cooked that bomb chili in it. I'm actually very proud of it. The expense is well worth it but I got a fab deal during Way Days. I was unsure of what size to get because I need it small enough for just me but also big enough for leftovers or company. I bought the 4.5 qt size and it's perfect. I couldn't be happier & highly recommend it!

Only used this Dutch Oven twice, in the oven once then gas stove top. Holds a large meal and stays hot/warm through the duration of the meal. The enamel was easy to clean but the weight may be challenging for some people. I placed towels on the counter to prevent chipping or scratching the granite counter. The weight also makes sliding the Dutch Oven into the oven a bit tricky. The weight is not a surprise as I own other cast iron pans however the size and weight requires the bottom shelf of the fridge. I moved the leftovers into containers instead. I like this Dutch Oven overall but my wife prefers a multilayer stock pot for its weight but cost a bit more.

I am glad I finally bought it. I wasn't sure if I really need it and if it will be a pain to clean and take care of it. It appears it is very good for me when it comes to cooking in the oven and is not hard to maintain (read the manual that comes with the pot). I specifically mentioned "cooking in the oven" before because when it comes to cooking on the stove I don't really see the difference (in my case sometimes it is even worse) then in a regular pan/pot, so except the fact it takes longer and consumes more power, I do not see the benefit in this case. We also bake bread in it, I didn't even realize how nice it is not to bother with a water pan anymore - you just put bread in it, close/open the lid as needed and that's it. Also, what is very important to me, the ... MoreI am glad I finally bought it. I wasn't sure if I really need it and if it will be a pain to clean and take care of it. I thought it will require much more oil, but actually it doesn't, maybe just a little bit more than usual works ok for me (and I don't eat oily food).I took the red one, 6 quarts. It is big enough (I bake a whole chicken in it without problem) and it looks nice (gives me a cosy feeling). Delivered as scheduled, very good packed, no chips (thanks Wayfair!).

A wonderful Dutch oven. I recently made braised short ribs in mine and they were AMAZING. This Dutch oven is a must have. With proper care it will for generations. Lodge brand has never disappoint me with the products they offer. I will always be a customer. When something works so well for you don't need to change it.
This casserole is gorgeous! I definitely want to note though that it doesn't look this fluorescent in person. It's way prettier! I've been using it for 4 months and have really enjoyed cooking on it. I'm using mine as a skillet. Wiping it out and leaving it on my stove because it's so pretty. If you are expecting non-stick you wont find that here. But be sure to use plenty of oil, lard or butter and you shouldn't have any issues. I'll admit I've had some trouble cleaning it as the butter seems to cook in leaving brown stains. Also, the enamel has already chipped in 2 separate spots. Perhaps that comes with the territory? I just expected it to be a little tougher with just 4 months of wear. It's really lovely though and way more affordable than other brands. Plus, ... MoreThis casserole is gorgeous! I definitely want to note though that it doesn't look this fluorescent in person. Just spend the extra money and buy a staub or Le creuset. I bought two and both were damaged. The enameled was crack and chucks missing were missing. The manufacturing has gone down at lodge because I bought this exact one in 2019 and it was perfect. I bought other lodge cast iron products recently and they were all damaged in some way.
I love to cook and have invested in nice cookware for years, including a Lodge 12” skillet purchased on my honeymoon 34 years ago. It is like new today and is used frequently. This gorgeous Dutch oven and bonus trivet is an early valentines gift and I LOVE it! The color is my favorite and looks awesome on my stove where I plan to keep it out on display as it makes me happy! I know how to take care of it and will do so. If you don’t plan to take care of your NICE cookware, buy the cheap stuff and throw it away often. Not me. We buy the best and take care of it! Target has the best price with bonus trivet which I LOVE and will use often!
I washed the dutch oven by hand when I got it. Dried it with a towel. After I looked in the pot there was a lot of enamel/paint chips. I can't trust this product. if I didn't look I would've ended up with it in my food. ingesting the enamel is probably a bad thing. I'm going to return this and go with the Le Creuset or Staab now. I'm disappointed because other Lodge products have been excellent for me in the past.
Purchased today. I thoroughly searched it for any defects as I didnt want to chance recieving a chipped pot with pickup or shipping. I was super happy that it came with a gorgeous trivet. I made olive graden’s italian sausage soup and red lobster’s cheddar bay biscuts for its first test run. I was impressed!
I have this cast iron enamelware and have been using it almost daily for over a year. It still looks brand new and care is easy! If any staining, let,it soak with about half a container of false teeth cleaning powder. I set the pan in sink and place the powder in the pan and then fill with hot water. I let it set overnight and then I am able to easily hand wash the stains out, I only do this when the pan is stained which is not that often but it does happen. A little elbow grease after use will keep the pan from staining. This pan is fantastic for on the stove use and also 8n the oven. I usually wipe with my fingers bacon grease or vegetable oil on the inside of the pan when using it. I do highly recommend all of the Lodge cookware and know that mine will be passed ... MoreI have this cast iron enamelware and have been using it almost daily for over a year.
