Best Mouse on the market (with a couple exceptions)

One is regarding where I place my right thumb on the MX Master; there is a thumbwheel for horizontal scrolling that is often very convenient; the MX Vertical does not have this feature. Also, I have a glass desk mat and the MX Master easily let me move my mouse over the mat with no problems, precisely placing my mouse cursor where I want it on my screen. Apparently, the laser easily goes through the clear mat and reflects off of my wooden desk surface. Unfortunately, I cannot do this with the MX Vertical. The latter issue is not a big deal I do have to slightly adjust where I placed my keyboard, but it would have been nice if it worked as well in this regard as the MX Master.Otherwise, what appeared as a gimmick at first is real. My right hand is in a more natural position using this mouse, and I highly recommend that if you are in the market for a new mouse, give this one a try. I think you'll be as positively surprised as I was.

There was also some concern expressed in many reviews about acclimating to the laser sensor's location under the mouse, but I found it feel pretty natural. The ergonomics are as good as advertised and I was pleased that it comfortably fits in my palm. My pinky doesn't hang off the edge or drag on the desk, although, I could see someone with much larger hands having an issue. It's also surprisingly light. I'm glad I paid for the MX version rather than the cheaper Lift, as the slightly larger surface space and the built in battery feels orate it.In addition to this, switching between computers is a breeze. There's a button on the underside that you can press to switch between three devices, meaning I can quickly move from my personal MacBook to my work computer on the fly.I've detracted a star because, in true Logitech fashion, the Mac support isn't fully baked. There is a firmware updated on the Logitech site, but the MX Vertical isn't supported. It's entirely possible there isn't currently a firmware update, and that support will be added once an update happens, but I have my doubts. There is Mac support for he Logitech Options software, which is what you'll need to download in order to take advantage of the customizable buttons. For those of you used to using gestures on your Mac's track pad, you'll want to use this software. Unfortunately, it's a little unwieldy to set up. There Logi Options, and then there's Logi Options+. The onscreen instructions for setting them up aren't exactly accurate to Mac interface, and you have to set up Options+ in order for the Options software to recognize the mouse. That last part wasn't explained, and I stumbled into it.

Also, a device with a bolt receiver cannot mingle with a unifying receiver device so you can't marry both peripherals in one receiver or the other regardless if it's logibolt or unifying. So that right there was a huge dissapointment. For how expensive buying both the keyboard and mouse together is, I would expect compatibility between the two or at least logibolt compatibility for all the business devices.Otherwise, it was simple to set up both equipped dongles for a second device from Logi Options+ in my personal computer and then connect the 2 dongles to my work computer. So far it works fine on my work computer as well.

Great mouse letdown my awful scroll wheel
5 September 2022

Shape is great, cursor can be tweaked in settings, multi-device works easy, battery life is good. Almost a perfect mouse...Except, for some inexplicable reason, the worst scroll wheel I've encountered in decades. It just doesn't have a good feel, it's way too loose in notch distance and yet overly clicky. It doesn't have a nice feeling grip, it's too slippery. On MacOS at least, the way it behaves with scrollbars is jaggy and jumpy. I'm comparing it directly to a Logitech G602 and a Razar Mamba. It feels like I'm "working" a lot more to get the same scrolls, no amount of tweaking is fixing it.Just very unfortunate design choice here, it's not like Logitech hasn't made a scroll wheel before...Still, ultimately a good ergo mouse, feels good on the hand, can ... MoreShape is great, cursor can be tweaked in settings, multi-device works easy, battery life is good. Great mouse, poor quality control
31 October 2022

Had this mouse for about a year and a half and it's probably near the end of its usability. For the first year or so, it worked great and I didn't have a problem getting used to the vertical design. It helped reduce some wrist strain as well. However, a few months after that, I started having problems with the left click button, where the button would have trouble holding/dragging or cut out mid-drag and skip across sections of my desktop. I've had three Logitech MX mice over the last several years that have given me the same issues (took a break after the first two). As a video editor, these issues affect my work a fair bit and I can't justify purchasing a $130 mouse every 1-2 years. Looking online, this seems like a fairly common issue with Logitech mice. Spoke with Logitech support too, but they were no help as their warranty only covers up to one year. I've loved the MX mice I've used, but I wish their quality control was a lot better.

Great mouse, when I don't want to smash it...

Just whenever it feels the need to totally send me into a rage. The scroll wheel will just stop sending a signal to the screen. It happened yesterday, right before I was going to leave this same review, but then I decided 'let me try updating the software before I blast this thing online.' So I did, and it started working again, but guess what happened the very next day? Yep, which is why I'm here now warning others of this frustration. Maybe on Windows, it doesn't happen, but on Mac, you will receive the joy of having to restart your machine in the middle of whatever you're doing because the mouse just stops working. Yay!

Missing several features I've come to expect from Logitech mice
14 December 2022

I picked this up yesterday at a local big box office store to try a different style of mouse. It's an attractive mouse. The build quality is solid and feels good in my hands. However, after only a few hour using it I'm going to have to go back to another mouse. There is no way to unlock the scroll wheel. It always has the click-click-click enabled. I work with files with many pages and it is very annoying and, frankly, painful, to use this scroll wheel. I'm baffled that a mouse at this price, in this day and age, does not have a scroll wheel lock.Furthermore, there is no place in the mouse to store the adapter. I have multiple mousing devices and I live in terror of getting the USB adapter mismatched with the device and being on the road with the wrong combination. ... MoreI picked this up yesterday at a local big box office store to try a different style of mouse. I've always stored the dongle in the mouse's battery compartment. This unit is sealed solid so I will have to duct tape the USB adapter to it to ensure I don't lose it.The lack of these two features means this is not an effective device for me. I will likely return it. This experience has left a sour taste in my mouth.

This has been a HUGE game changer for me!! It makes using the computer enjoyable again! I use for work doing graphic design, video/photo editing, copywriting etc. It definitely could be difficult if you were drawing something, but otherwise no problem. Great for someone who hasn't been able to game bc of hand / carpal tunnel pain. I was using it on my laptop and my office PC but recently bought another one bc I kept forgetting it downstairs in my office and am too lazy to get it ^.^ Absolutely saved progression of carpal tunnel and arthritis.. it really should be counted towards a healthcare expense but ... MoreI am a 6 foot tall woman(big hands), 32 yo and have arthritis, lupus, mixed connective tissue disease and carpal tunnel is steadily and slowly coming for my arm. I actually dont really understand why so many people hated this. Were they not expecting a titled mouse? Were they a hardcore gamer looking for zero latency ultra precise movement???? No idea.My job is almost entirely at my desk on a computer with a lot of clicking and mouse movement. Using a normal mouse, my wrist was literally killing me at the end of the day. Literally ever since I bought this thing, I never have that wrist pain. This mouse took all of 10-15 minutes of getting used to, and it works brilliantly. I dont notice any lag, I can charge it with a USB-C cable, and my wrist sits comfortably at a nice angle. I like that I get a notification of low battery life on my computer and that the mouse doesnt just randomly die out on me.If youre getting this just for desk WORK as a job or as a student and youre not trying to game or anything, trust me. This WILL save your wrist that pain. This is my favorite mouse and I bought one for work and one for home because of it.If either break at some point, I most likely will get it again.ONE THING TO NOTE:One thing I only recently noticed is that if you plug a USB storage device into a USB port directly adjacent to the USB port where the dongle of this mouse is plugged into, you may see SIGNIFICANT lag until you unplug that storage USB.Its actually really strange. I dont blame the product itself cuz that might actually be a computer issue itself, but I have noticed that will happen. Once you unplug the USB storage device, it goes back to working 100% flawlessly. Or if you plug it somewhere else in a another port further away. Maybe its just my computer? And its only SOME usb storage devices not all. USB charging or other dongles dont have that effect.Anyway that was worth noting.Outside of that weird quirk, still 100% recommend because this saved me so much pain.

The Premiere Vertical Mouse
1 September 2022

This the premiere vertical mouse. It's the ergonomic mouse that sets the bar. It's comfortable. It's responsive. It's rechargeable. It's covered with a "grippy," rubber-like surface that improves the ability to hold it without it slipping especially when you lift the mouse to reposition your pointer. It takes the strain off of your elbow and wrist. I've seen some models that are similarly comfortable to hold and grip, but you simply can't beat the build quality, reliability, tactile feedback, and functionality of this mouse. My primary complaint is that the buttons are noisy!! It's impossible to use in the same room as a light sleeper without waking them. Also, over time the scroll wheel doesn't spin quite as confidently as before.
