I love keyboards and it’s always fun trying out new products! I was so excited to try out the MX Mechanical Mini for Mac! A little nostalgia from the 80's computer rooms never hurt anyone, and my wife says I need to stop slouching so mechanical keyboard it is!Opening the box I was impressed by the weight of this keyboard! Definitely a work from home / office keyboard and not something you’ll want to heft around in your backpack despite the otherwise convenient size and Bluetooth connectivity. It’s a solid feeling keyboard that doesn't take up much footprint on my desk.Ahh...that sound. Nothing like the click, clack of a mechanical keyboard. I had become a lazy typist in recent years and I found that my finger arch needed to be more prominent when using this ... MoreI love keyboards and it’s always fun trying out new products! I had become a lazy typist in recent years and I found that my finger arch needed to be more prominent when using this keyboard. I think it helped my overall posture too as I had to sit up in my chair to get my arms at the correct height! My chiropractor bills thank you!I’ve said it once and I’ll continue shouting from the rooftops…Logitech makes the BEST multi device connectivity. I love that I was able to easily pair via Bluetooth to my Mac, PC and iPad and it takes a simple press of a button to toggle between the three. I tend to use all three devices in desktop mode with the same monitor and being able to use the same keyboard (and mouse) for all three is a tremendous time saver and helps reduce clutter.I love the backlight feature that turns on when my hands haver and the USB-C charging is super convenient. If you're a Mac user and looking for a mechanical keyboard with the Mac layout then look no further! Bravo Logitech!

I have a variety of Logitech keyboards, mice and even other accessories such as gaming headphones. Logitech makes quality hardware that not only performs well but is also built to last. My latest acquisition is the Logitech MX Mechanical Mini for Mac, but what I primarily got it for is my iPad.This being a mini-size keyboard, it is taking up a lot less desk space and allows ample room for a mouse as well. For the last week I've used it for both work and personal computing and for me personally it does wonders. I've always had ergonomic challenges with full size keyboards being off-center because of the numpad that I never use anyway. Now I don't have to stretch my hand out as much for the mouse, therefore less neck/shoulder strain. The way it achieves the smaller ... MoreI have a variety of Logitech keyboards, mice and even other accessories such as gaming headphones. I've always had ergonomic challenges with full size keyboards being off-center because of the numpad that I never use anyway. Now I don't have to stretch my hand out as much for the mouse, therefore less neck/shoulder strain. The way it achieves the smaller size is by eliminating the numerical keypad keys and squeezing the arrow and edit keys under, and to the right of the shift and enter keys, much like a laptop keyboard. It does not compromise on key sizes though, so it feels much like a full size keyboard. Speaking of “feel”, this is actually a mechanical keyboard but with tactile quiet switches that do not make the louder clicking sound other mechanical keyboards make. It is also fairly low profile, so you don’t really need a wrist pad to type comfortably.Connectivity wise, since it is a Bluetooth keyboard, you can connect it to both MAC and Windows as well as iPads. Moreover it supports pairing to 3 different MACs or iPads via low energy Bluetooth and easily switching between them by using the 3 dedicated keys on the F1-F3 function keys. You can also get an even faster question using the Logi Bolt connector if you have a USB-A style port.In terms of portability, this keyboard needs no wires, except for charging via the included USB-C cable. On a full charge it’s supposed to last 15-days even when using the illuminated keys and many months with illumination turned off. Speaking of illuminated keys, they work great by sensing the motion of your hands approaching the keys, so they illuminate exactly when you need it, and are also light-sensitive, so they’ll dim or get brighter depending on the lighting conditions in your room.Overall, this is a well built mini wireless, rechargeable mechanical illuminated keyboard that is light enough to carry with you from room to room and easily connect to multiple compatible devices.

The Logitech MX Mechanical I have and use is the mini-version and it's a joy to type on. I'm not sure what the switches are, but they're quiet, so you can feel at peace using this in an office or sneaking in an email during a Zoom call without anyone knowing. The backlit on the keyboard is great (see photo) and they keys themselves are full size, so easier to type on the Logitech's other macOS keyboard (see photo for side by side example). Oddly, Logitech has the least descriptive name, it shows up as the "MX MCHNCL M" because apparently Logitech didn't want to use vowels (haha) but jokes aside it setup in an instant no software or drivers needed. The only real watchout with the keyboard is Logitech has mapped the function keys to different settings than standard macOS. For example, F10 on a macOS keyboard is mute, while on the Mechnical Mini it's search, F7 instead of skip backwards is emoji... just something to keep in mind. The Mechnical Mini can pair with up to 3 apple devices (Mac, iOS, iPadOS) and not being full size, it's small enough to throw in a bag but it does have a bit more weight than Logitech's K380 and is a bit bigger too (see photo). I own both and I prefer the Mechanical Mini for typing by a long shot. And that's the thing, the MX Mechanical Mini is so nice to type on and feels so premium, it's what Apple would make if they made a proper mechanical keyboard. Definitely recommended and you won't be disappointed.PS. The keyboard charges via USB C to C cable (included) and the internal rechargeable is rated 10 days. FYI, there's no fingerprint reader or TouchID equivalent, but that's an Apple decision and not Logitech's fault.

I wasn't sure that'd like like this keyboard, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's been a while since I've typed on old-school, chunky keys, but it provides a nice typing experience I had all but forgotten. If you're a Mac user and haven't bought a 3rd-party keyboard in a decade or more, you may have forgotten just how much keys used to move. This keyboard brings that 2-3x key travel back, housed in a compact footprint (about 1.5 key-widths wider). Keys are slightly larger, with deeper indentations to help you find and hit keys a bit easier too. This is the kind of thing a writer or programmer may especially appreciate. The overall keyboard is thicker too, at about 3/4" at the front to about 1" thick at the back. This is considerably thicker than a modern iMac ... MoreI wasn't sure that'd like like this keyboard, but I was pleasantly surprised. The overall keyboard is thicker too, at about 3/4" at the front to about 1" thick at the back. This is considerably thicker than a modern iMac keyboard, so keep that in mind. It also had fold out back feet to place this at an angle for better ergonomics (which I'd recommend!) - Also, USB-C charging! Some things to note, however... this keyboard makes a decent amount of typing noise, that may bother an office-mate or family members in the same room. Logitech claims that it's a quiet experience, but that must be relative to even louder varieties. I also enjoy that this model has backlighting which is very useful at night, though a bit less helpful at dusk as the backlighting can cause keys to be harder to read under the right circumstances - you can always adjust this lighting pretty easily and it comes on automatically based on light and proximity, which is nice. Lastly, as far as I can tell, you cannot easily control your mac's display brightness from this keyboard. This is likely doable through customization software that Logitech provide, but did not interest me. Those keys are instead used for quick device switching on this keyboard. I would have also liked if Logitech used a finer metal texture on its aluminum/metal accent plate, it's not as fine as what you get on a mac and shimmers a bit more. It's a small nit, and not one you'll likely notice for long, but it stood out initially.Overall, I'm happily surprised and would recommend to anyone looking for a more substantial mac-keyboard alternative!I received this product as part of a review program, in exchange for an honest review.

It has a mostly white plastic exterior with a silver metallic accent plate located beneath the keys. It mimics the design of Apple’s keyboard well. This keyboard has some weight with it which is good for stability, but is something to keep in mind if you plan to pack this keyboard for travel or for your commute to the office. This keyboard does have backlighting but only in the white color (same as MX Keys), so no RGB color effects. However, there are some animation lighting effects you can access by pressing the “fn” key and the “lightbulb” key (volume down), same as the full-sized Logitech Mechanical keyboard.## PerformanceLike the MX Keys, the MX Mechanical Mini for Mac keyboard is very comfortable and great to type on. Even though these are “Tactile Quiet” keys, it’s louder than MX Keys, but shouldn’t be a major distraction if you’re near your coworkers. There are additional keys for dictation, emoji, search and muting the microphone, but some of these functions require the Logi Options+ software to work. In my opinion, the Logi Options+ software is a bit bloated and loads at each restart, so I haven’t installed it on my Mac at this time. The basic functions of the keyboard works fine without the software. The MX Mechanical Mini keyboard connects to your Mac or your iPad via Bluetooth. It can also connect to a Logi Bolt receiver, but it’s important to note that the Logi Bolt receiver is not included with this “Mini for Mac” version of the keyboard. And also remember that Logitech devices using “Bolt” receivers do not mix with Logitech devices using “Unifying” devices.## Battery LifeThe keyboard saves battery power by only lighting up when it senses your hands approaching, but I’ve walked by the room and noticed the keyboard lighting up on its own (similar to my MX Keys keyboard). With the backlighting on, the keyboard can last up to 15 days or up to 10 months with the backlight turned off.The keyboard is recharged with in included USB-C to USB-C cable (please note that the non-Mac version typically comes with a USB-A to USB-C cable). Data is not passed through the cable, therefore this keyboard cannot be used as a “wired” keyboard.## SummaryThe MX Mechanical Mini for Mac keyboard is very comfortable to type on, but is a little louder (and “clickier”) than the MX Keys. This version contains Mac-specific keys and white-and-silver styling, but there is also a “regular” MX Mechanical Mini version available that has key labeling for both Mac and PC. You can switch between 3 Mac, iPad or iPhone devices via Bluetooth, but this keyboard uses Logitech’s newer “Bolt” nano receiver which is not included in this “Mini for Mac” version.
The Logitech MX Mechanical Mini Wireless Keyboard… for Mac/iOS devices!!!TLDR: Though there are only a handful of mechanical keyboards out there for Mac/iOS devices, this one does not disappoint and would easily be top 3 in that exclusive list. The keyboard itself comes with brown switches which provides tactile feedback when typing. I myself prefer brown switches, so i was not disappointed at all with the ones that come with the Logitech MX Mini here. The typing experience was quite good, and all the keys were pretty uniform in their feedback and actuation between keystrokes. The typing experience was quite good, and all the keys were pretty uniform in their feedback and actuation between keystrokes. The only thing about the keyboard that i did not really like was that the layout did not follow the same layout of the Macbook Pro’s or my Apple Magic Keyboard. Due to this, i had to retrain my muscle memory to adjust accordingly to the Windows-esque layout (e.g., TKL 75% keyboards). Since i am a software engineer that works primarily on Mac machines, i make use of keyboard shortcuts quite a bit when coding, so this particular layout caused me some issues at first because my fingers would think i was on a Windows machine (and i would activate the wrong keyboard shortcuts OR no shortcuts at all because of this). Your experience with the layout may fare better, depending on your personal preference/ability to adjust.Outside of the typing experience, this keyboard has quite a nifty feature where you can pair up to 3 separate devices and switch between them seamlessly. This is quite useful as i can pair my MacBook Pro (when it’s docked), iPhone, and iPad Pro. At the press of one button, i’m able to go from typing on one device to the others and makes for a must-have peripheral for minimalists. I’ve seen this feature float around other Logitech non-mechanical keyboards and have always wanted a mechanical keyboard with it! Very much appreciate Logitech making it happen with this MX Mini.Overall, i would highly recommend this keyboard for anyone that wants a great typing experience across multiple devices.
I have always preferred the Logitech brand of keyboards and other accessories because of the high quality of the brand and the performance of most products. I recently obtained the Logitech MX Mechanical Mini Wireless Keyboard for Mac OS with the intention of using it with my iPads running the latest iPad OS 16 software. I was pleased to find that it was super easy to setup and pair with my iPad via the Bluetooth option. It was immediately convenient to start typing text on different programs on the iPad. I quickly noticed that it had the backlit keyboard function that was easy to control the levels of brightness without any issues. I liked the feel of the keys on the actual keyboard, and it felt nice and sturdy like other Logitech brand keyboards I have owned. The only drawback that I realized after choosing this particular model was the lack of a number pad on the side of the standard keyboard. I am used to using the other format for my work, so it was not a big issue since I was able to adapt to the alternative method for inputting numbers when needed. I totally understand the need to omit the additional feature to have a compact portable design. Overall, it is a good mini keyboard that is versatile in the products that it can be used with.

I already have the full-size version of this keyboard for my desktop, but I thought this one would be better for use with my laptop and iPad. I was right! The easy touch typing interface is great for writers, like me, who want a sufficient response from the keyboard when typing, but hate the typical “clackiness” of mechanical keyboards. The keys have a soft press and response with practically perfect touch feedback. When I’m at my desktop, I appreciate the extended keyboard, but when I’m traveling or just using my laptop or iPad in another room, this keyboard is ideal to bring along. The backlit keys are excellent in low light and the “Smart Illumination” works as soon as your hands approach the keyboard. The backlit keys are excellent in low light and the “Smart Illumination” works as soon as your hands approach the keyboard. The battery is designed to last for more than two weeks with backlighting on or up to 10 months with it switched off! When you need to, it’s very easy to recharge with the included three foot USB-C to USB-C cable. The brushed aluminum base and light gray plastic keys have a classic look. Since you can pair the keyboard with up to three devices, I can use this with my laptop and my iPad and still have a spare share for another device, like my wife’s iPad. Since the keyboard is designed specifically for use on a Mac or iPad, the Alt and Windows keys, often found on hybrid keyboards are absent, while the Option and Command keys are present and familiar, meaning a Mac lover like me doesn’t have to stop and hunt for them. Programmable function keys and nice touches like a blinking caps lock key make this small keyboard a big hit for me!
This Logitech - MX Mechanical Mini for the Mac wireless keyboard is an excellent addition to the Mac computer. The keyboard is well designed. The keys have good firm compression per key stroke, and the keyboard is amazingly responsive. All of the functions on the keyboard work natively with Mac OS so it's literally like an extension of using the standard built-in keyboard (if you have a laptop) or a more mechanical version of the standard wireless keyboard from Apple. The keyboard has a really good battery life. I have been using it for days (as I use it for work and personal use) and it remains as sharply responsive as it was when I initially started using it.I love the design of the keyboard. It has a very nice quality feel to it. Ergonomically it's comfortable to use for long periods of time. Also, I like how the keys are appropriately spaced and arrangement of the color shades on the keys. Really adds a nice touch. The keyboard is easy to use. Only takes a few minutes to connect to your computer. It has a pretty good wireless range which allows you to move back from your computer and continue typing. I find this really helpful when typing on a larger monitor where I may want to have ample distance between myself and the screen. The Logitech - MX Mechanical Mini for the Mac is an excellent option for a wireless keyboard that supports the native Mac OS functions. You will not be disappointed. I would definitely recommend this keyboard to a friend.
