It's an upgrade from the average desk lamp. But if you're hoping to use it for other things, like video projects and whatnot, then you can get significantly more bang for your buck elsewhere.

I’ve had this light for a couple of weeks now and I absolutely love it. I’m constantly on zoom meetings for work and church so this light was very much needed. It will replace what I previously had. Though the lighting is the best I’ve experienced with a product like this, the best thing about this light is its flexibility. I love how the arm is adjusting to almost any height you’d like. If you want to adjust it high just pull the arm up or if you want it low just push the arm down. This will help with all types of sizes of computer monitors. You can cycle through a cool temperature look or a warm temperature look all at different brightness settings. So you can adjust it as you see fit. You can also adjust the light beam many different ways to help with you set up. You can install the light beam vertically or horizontally. (I have it set vertically) There’s a few notches on the light beam and the adjustable arm to keep the power cord in place. You just have to watch it when you’re adjusting the arm because the cord may fall out.If there was one thing I didn’t like (which doesn’t take away from this at all), is that the power button and charging input is on the light bar. I almost wish these two things were in the base some kind of way. That way the cord won’t get in the way. NOT a big deal at all. I would encourage you if you are looking for a streaming light to consider the Litra Beam. This has to be the best streaming light on the market. Logitech just keeps getting better and better. I have a couple of their other products and I love those also.

First time upgrading our lighting set up at our home office. These lights are easy to set up and have great options for brightness and color (warm to cool). These options are great as my partner and I can customize the brightness and color options to match our skin tones (medium/dark skin and fair skin). Doesn't make anyone look washed out or too much in shadows. The only complaint is that the rotation of it is a bit tough or too lose. It seems like it is meant to attach and then be able to infinitely rotate/spin but one of them is too tight where it feels like it will break if we rotate it. The other is too lose and feels like it is about to fall off. However, we found a system for them to be set up so that they work for us. TLDR;While expensive, this light is more accommodating to my specific needs than anything else I have tried, allowing a much more flattering and even-toned light than my decorative desk lamp, and because of it's multiple assembly options, can fit on my very tight WFH desk setup and still allow me to center the light. When the video streaming stops and I'm back to work, it serves as a nice work light that is able to quickly switch back and forth between my needs.FULL REVIEWMy video streaming is mostly for work when I'm not in my office. When the video streaming stops and I'm back to work, it serves as a nice work light that is able to quickly switch back and forth between my needs.FULL REVIEWMy video streaming is mostly for work when I'm not in my office. My work-from-home setup is small and not very well lit. It's also in the living room, and while it's off to the side, I try to keep the decor, including the lamp on the desk, in tune with the decor of the living room. The lamp on the desk is suitable for working, but it doesn't do much for the video conferencing. My little "square" is always the dark one because either I don't have the light on at all and I am only illuminated by the computer monitor, or the lamp is on and then my little square looks orange. This Logitech Litra Beam light appealed to me for three main reasons:- It could be run off USB, meaning I could easily remove it from the desk when I stopped working.- It had multiple ways to set up the light to accommodate my very small work space.- The adjustments made it easier to produce a nicer light to work by than my lamp (my lamp is more of a decor piece than a practical lighting device).USB POWERThis lamp does consume a lot of power. I tried using it with my Macbook Pro (with a USB C to USB A adapter) and the light achieved full brightness. Not so much with my company-provided laptop, which is a lower-end machine. This was not too much of an issue as I have a surge protector with USB ports that I was able to plug this light into. This was also better than the USB on my laptop which seems to output inconsistent power and I felt like the light was flickering a little (but not sure because I couldn't see when I looked directly at the light. The downside - I lost the use of the app to control the lighting. That didn't bother me terribly as the buttons on the backside of the lamp have 5 color options and 5 brightness options, so I could still find a combination that worked for me. Also, while the buttons are on the back of the lamp (not the most convenient place), they are actually easy to identify. The power button is round, and the color and brightness are "oval" (more like "pill" shaped, but definitely different). They require a little bit of force to press, so you know when you've actually pressed the button. I quickly memorized where each button was located and could operate them by touch.MULTIPLE CONFIGURATIONS IN ASSEMBLYThe multiple ways this light can be setup was huge for me. Since my workspace is small and not very deep between myself and the wall, the light stand base was best placed next to my laptop, not behind it. However, being able to assemble the light to stretch across the top of the laptop screen allows me to position it for the most flattering light, which prevents weird shadows on my face. Most lighting of any type that I have tried still had to go to the side of my laptop, but then I couldn't center the light and depending on the ambient light in my living room, could look really weird.By the way, the USB cable used to provide power to the light plugs directly into the light, so it is possible to use this light without the stand at all if you have circumstances where that might be desirable.I experimented with using the light in both a vertical and horizontal assembly. Ultimately, I preferred the horizontal setup based on what I have described and my ability to center the light. However, in certain environments, such as more professional streaming, I could see the vertical assembly being much better, especially if you have two lights, because it's also easier for the light to remain in your peripheral vision, something that always bothers me with any kind of video lighting. I'm just on work conferences, and trying not to have the darkest video compared to my colleagues who are either under fluorescent lighting or just in better WFH setups than I am.Regardless, for me, the difference I saw was impressive. I felt like I was in a studio compared to the lighting I had previously. And even if I turned the brightness down to give my eyes a break, the middle level still looked much better than what I had before!DUAL PURPOSEFinally, this light serves a dual purpose for me. When I'm off video and back to work, turning it down to a lower brightness and tilting it downward provides a nice light to work by. I'm again able to angle it to reduce shadowing, and the light is soft, so it's easier to read off of papers or make notes Then I'm able to quickly refocus the light and toward me and make some brightness adjustments, and I'm ready for the next video meeting. If my setup was more spacious, I'm not sure if I would be willing to spend this much, even though it is a flexible lighting solution that produces a much better lit video conference. However, I do believe that the lighting that it produces and the options it has are a step above some of the other options out there for even a professional environment and provides a sleek and professional look to a studio setup.
The Logitech Litra Beam has been a great way to elevate the quality of my videos as well as my Zoom calls. The best part of the Logitech Litra Beam is the total control I have over the lighting in my videos. I can adjust the light beam to be either horizontal or vertical. This is great for focusing the light where I need it. I can also adjust the brightness and hue of the light-which helps me to feel more confident on camera and create my best look. Oh, and did I mention I’m able to adjust the light stand to sit between about 15 inches to 25 Inches depending on what suits my setup! Oh, and did I mention I’m able to adjust the light stand to sit between about 15 inches to 25 Inches depending on what suits my setup! In the past, trying to create my desired lighting was always a struggle or simply impossible. But Litra Beam allows the ability to create perfect lighting instantly and conveniently. It is a very sturdy light due to the circular base being quite heavy duty. This makes it great for sitting on your desk or other busy areas. It will not tip over easily. However, due to the heavy duty base, this light is probably not ideal for frequent transport as far as taking it on the go. The Logitech Litra Beam has a sleek and modern design. It does not take up much space for how powerful of a light it is. It is simple to set up and easy to use. For assembly I simply connect the base to the stand, and the stand to the light. And I operate the light on the logitech app. There are buttons on the back of the light you can use to operate. However I prefer the app so that I can set the light out of arm’s length and still turn it on very easily. Before I had the Logitech Litra Beam, I would spend so much time messing with my lamps and curtains to create the perfect kind of light. Being able to save that time and energy (and frustration) definitely makes every penny worth it for the Litra Beam. Now I am able to better spend that time and energy on the content of my videos because I know my lighting will always be perfect. And for my job, I always need to do Zoom meetings. It has been great to sit down at my desk at a moment's notice for a zoom meeting with a client and know my lighting will be bright and professional at any time. The right lighting helps me appear in better focus on camera. And because of the Litra Beam and the great lighting it provides, I have received much better engagement from my clients and audience. Getting the Litra Beam is a small and inexpensive way to create a big impact on the overall quality of my videos. The lighting on the Logitech Litra Beam creates an effect on my videos that looks professional- even if I am not someone who creates videos professionally and I don’t do anything to edit my videos! Having great lighting is probably the easiest way for my videos to be better without doing too much. So the Litra Beam has been a real lifesaver when I’m needing to make a quick but high quality video.
PROS: As a user of video conferencing I have struggled to find a lighting product that would meet, if not exceed, my requirements. Those being easy to setup, does not produce heat, multiple adjustable positioning, dedicated onboard controls for power, variable color temperature and brightness, with an application that can duplicate the same dedicated controls. This Litra Beam meets my basic requirements as stated above, plus with the ability to setup different selectable presets/profiles depending on my specific needs through the Logitech G-Hub application.SETUP: There is some minor assembly required out of the box. This Litra Beam meets my basic requirements as stated above, plus with the ability to setup different selectable presets/profiles depending on my specific needs through the Logitech G-Hub application.SETUP: There is some minor assembly required out of the box. That being, securing the base to the adjustable shaft, and then the beam to the other end of the shaft (3 options here). Next plugging the USB-C into the beam, dress the wiring, plugging the USB-A end into your PC, and you are now “good to go”. The adjustable height, coupled with the numerous beam bar positioning options, should satisfy most all users. Overall I would consider the weighted base stand as medium duty and should hold up for years to come.G-HUB APP: Although not actually required to use the Litra Beam (hey, it just a USB powered light, or so I thought…), I would highly recommend downloading the Logitech G HUB application. Once installed, it will find the Litra and your default camera, update the Litra firmware, provide a demo/tutorial of the unit, and allow you to select any of the six different presets, along with the current Manual setup preset. It will also allow you to create and tweak your own preset(s) if the defaults six do not meet your needs. When connected to my laptop, the Litra Beam will also remember its last setting (you can choose to lock it “persistent” across all profiles). And the Litra Beam will auto power on when my laptop powers up with the G-Hub application running. Nice touch!CONS: The first negative is the inability of the Litra Beam to program automatic power on when using a dedicated USB 5-volt power adapter or auto power on with my laptop when G-Hub is not active. Contacting support I was told it will auto power on without G-Hub, but that is not the case, at least for my laptop. (I am still awaiting answers to my follow up questions.)The second negative is, currently there is no G-HUB application for an Android device if you want to use Bluetooth connectivity to control the Litra Beam outside of your PC. (My phone will find and connect to the Litra Beam through Bluetooth, but without an app, it is useless.)BOTTOM LINE: Overall I am satisfied with the Litra Beam, its G-Hub application, with the ability to position it in numerous ways. And it is a welcomed upgrade from the smaller profile Litra Glow Streaming light, although at a substantial price increase. If it could be programmed to auto power on when using a USB adapter, and have a G-HUB Android application available, I would have rated it a 5.
THIS… is the Logitech Litra Beam, Logitech's next entry to its “Litra” lighting category, and the big brother to the Logitech Litra Glow (the only other light in the “Litra” family…for now). The Litra Beam is a slim lightbar that fits onto its stand/base (or any 3 ¼ fitting which is pretty industry standard) in three different positions - which Logitech calls its “innovative desk mount.” You can control the temperature (2700k-6500k) and brightness (up to 320 lumens) of the light in two ways - through the physical buttons on the light or through its really well-put-together desktop app, which Logitech calls ghub. This is a really well-built and well-priced key light… so let's cut into it.Lighting- This is why we are allllllllllll here! - The light is actually a ... MoreTHIS… is the Logitech Litra Beam, Logitech's next entry to its “Litra” lighting category, and the big brother to the Logitech Litra Glow (the only other light in the “Litra” family…for now). This is a really well-built and well-priced key light… so let's cut into it.Lighting- This is why we are allllllllllll here! - The light is actually a great setup, being a lightbar, you get an even spread across your face or “target” vs something more direct and harsh. I wasn’t able to white wash my face or cause any unsatisfactory remarks on my face and I really tried. The output on the light is shown very well in the app and you are able to see if you are pushing the light to 100% or limited by your power source. I found the buttons to change the lighting temp well laid out, but I found it much easier to change it in the app or via macro on my keyboard (which the app supports).Bluetooth - Lets talk about Bluetooth. Largely, I don't see the point in this. This product requires power from some sort… most likely a computer but also could be from the wall. At which point in time would you need key lighting controlled remotely but also in close proximity where you couldn't just touch the light or control it through your laptop/computer but Bluetooth would be applicable? I find this to be such a small to negligible use that I am confused why it is a feature… this is possibly just my narrow-minded thoughts… but if it is useful to you CONGRATS it has Bluetooth.Photobiological LED safe - What is this might you ask? I too, prior to this product, was relatively unaware that the LED’s I was using to light my face up could be harmful to not only my eyes but also my skin. The Logitech Litra Beam (and glow) are certified to be Photobiologically safe after 12 hours - meaning that the new way you just found out your lighting could be hurting you - won’t actually hurt you with this light (and the whole “litra” family) which is very cool… and scary that I was unaware! A big +1 to Logitech on this one.Build - The Litra Beam is encased in a nice matt black plastic housing, hoisted on a well made pole and weighted metal base. I have seen some referencing the housing as cheap or less than ideal - however, this is a lighting product that could get hot over use. You don’t want heat transferred into the housing of the light in a way that could burn the user - especially if this item is to be mobile and easy to set up anywhere for any occasion. After all, most lighting products in and above this price category - if not all - are in a plastic housing.Complaints - The power cord this comes with is somewhat short, especially for being an accessory to a computer that could be placed anywhere. That being said, it is a USB-C port so it isn’t the biggest hassle. The only other gripe I had was that you couldn’t wall mount the stand or offer a wall mount for the light. I am a freak when it comes to wall mounting things (seriously, if it can go on a wall and look good it is ON A WALL) and this light is going to require me to go and buy something to do just that. I wish the wall mount just had a few passthrough holes to do this. Conclusion - I was generally shocked at how good this was for just $100 - which sounds expensive - but, considering the market and its competitors, is actually a steal. While it might not get as bright as other products (more expensive), it does exactly what it needs to as a key light. I loved this product and the intuitive app that Logitech has built to support it. As always, BestBuy has excellent customer service and return policy, so you never have to worry about buying a product that you don’t like.
It’s definitely meeting my needs for lighting in my home office. It provides perfect lighting for video conferencing. The app allows various themes that it applies based on what you need or want. I mostly use Logitech for my devices - keyboard, mouse, camera etc so this works well with each. You can set it to activate the light when your camera is activated and that is super nice. You’re able to control manually on the light or through the app as well. 2 minor things I rated lower for - the app is good but not very user friendly or explanatory and Logitech has some work to do with their products being able to be “linked”. Multiple USB ports are needed. 1 port for each item! They offer prods that can link but most of mine are not linkable (and I don’t have outdated ... MoreIt’s definitely meeting my needs for lighting in my home office. Otherwise it is adjustable height and direction and the stand doesn’t take too much space.
Overall this light is a great addition to my streaming set up. Like most products, there are a few things I didn't like or wish were different, but not enough to make me wish I had something else.I went from using a pretty basic, standard ring light that is really good but didn't have as much ability to change temperature or brightness like the Logitech light does. So I wanted to get a light that has more control AND would take up less space. This light is idea for space saving since it has a lot of ways to position it and with the very heavy sturdy base, it's not going anywhere even at a full extension.Like most people, I found this was best positioned to the side of my monitor and then extending the arm so that the light is above my monitor and camera position. ... MoreOverall this light is a great addition to my streaming set up. This light is idea for space saving since it has a lot of ways to position it and with the very heavy sturdy base, it's not going anywhere even at a full extension.Like most people, I found this was best positioned to the side of my monitor and then extending the arm so that the light is above my monitor and camera position. This gives me a nice key light slightly off center but not too high that it becomes a top light. Luckily the light comes with a lot of movable parts to get it in just the right position, but I wouldn't hate one more elbow point to really be able to move the light around. That said though, there's still a lot of customization available.Set up is a breeze, and the packaging is really nice. About 2 minutes after opening I was able to plug in the light, position it where I wanted and be up and running. I actually received the light the same day I stream and was able to use it that night with no issues. That was however just plugging it into an AC power brick and using the buttons included on the light. That was enough to get the job done but once I plugged it into my PC's USB later, I was able to have even more control with the G HUB app. Now, I'm not the biggest fan of the GHUB experience, I know that's pretty common, but I do have a keyboard that I already use with the app and so adding a light was not difficult. Other's may find this a little bit annoying to set up a whole app just to control a light, but the controls are a lot easier to use and don't require you to reach up and press a button on the light. You can also save presets for whatever situation you need them and dial in a better control over the brightness and color temp. One thing to note though that Logitech is upfront about as well, depending on your USB power, you may not be able to use full brightness off a USB port. I had this problem when plugging into USB 3 Hub and was limited to only 37% brightness. I was initially bummed about that but then saw that I can connect to the light via bluetooth and plug the light into a power brick like I did the first time and get full control still through GHUB. That's really a neat feature you're not going to see with just any ol streaming light. Connecting to the bluetooth wasn't too hard and once I did it once, it connected every time I needed it to.This light is great for a space saving streaming key light, video calls for business or even just a desk lamp if you wanted to while you're not on camera. One thing I wasn't crazy about is the way the light connects to the arm. By having the light a bit higher than my head, I needed to angle it down slightly. However, when using the standard screw mount, if you tighten the light on all the way it points straight out. To get a lower angle you technically have to loosen the connection. Now, for me it's only a small turn but if you were looking for a more dramatic top light or bottom light and needed to rotate it even more, eventually it becomes pretty loose and may move on it's own. Right now, the way I have it at about 45 degree angle down, it's very loose if you touch it, but I haven't seen it move on it's own yet, so for now I'm ok with it. I just would have liked to see a small clutch or separate rotating part that allows you to tighten the light down fully then rotate it to where you would like it. That's a minor issue but worth noting, especially given the way it brags about "point the light anywhere you need".The only other issue I really had was using the buttons on the light. There are buttons for brightness and color temp and if you one tap them, they will cycle through preset standard amounts, but if you press and hold they will give you a fine tuning. Now, the idea here is perfect, I love having the option to fine tune my temp and brightness, that's a major reason I got the light, but unfortunately, the execution is not great. I found myself constantly overshooting the brightness or temp and trying to dial it in back and fourth. This was on my first try with the light before I connected it to the GHUB app, and obviously that's why logitech probably isn't too concerned with the onboard controls because you can easily control them with the app, HOWEVER, if you are planning to not use the app for whatever reason and want to use the controls on the light, it's worth noting they are not the easiest to dial in. You'll get close, and that's probably good enough for most, but if you like to use a specific white balance temp or you are trying to get that brightness just right, you may have to take some time to dial it in. That, or just use the presets they have and adjust your other gear to match. So like I said, not a deal breaker, just something to remember.OVERALL I really do enjoy this light and it's so nice to have more space on my desk and still have a good key light for streams. The added bonus of having more control over the actual light produced and create my own presets on the GHUB app push this light into the top choices for me. The price is a little up there for a light, no doubt you're paying for the Logitech name and some bells and whistles, but if you have other GHUB ready devices like a mouse and keyboard etc, this will slip right into your ecosystem and can be added to your presets so you're always ready to go at a click of a button!
The light is highly recommended, for ease of use, no batteries, adjustable height/angle/brightness/color of white. Being USB powered (a USB-A to USB-C cable is enclosed; the light has a USB-C socket for powering) there are no batteries to wear out in the middle of a Zoom or FaceTime call. The series of LEDs has a diffusion cover that smooths out the light and dampens any harshness. The brightness of the light is adjustable, but the maximum lighting is somewhat variable depending on whether it is powered from the computer versus a wall adapter, being noticeably brighter with the wall power. The light has 3 different mounting sites to the stand, for a horizontal at 90º to the stand or towards the ceiling 180º to the stand or having the light bar in a vertical ... MoreThe light is highly recommended, for ease of use, no batteries, adjustable height/angle/brightness/color of white. The light can be adjusted using the Logitech G Hub app, which is available in Windows only and built in to some Logitech keyboards and mice. Nothing having these, I was unable to try out the app.The build quality is excellent, with the plastic components fitting well, and the raising and lowering of the height, although not overly smooth sliding, is secure and stable. The base is adequately robust to not wobble or tip over easily. The appearance is sleek and modern. The control buttons on the upper surface of the light are easily adjusted (on/off, color temp of the white, and brightness). My most used function for the light was for FaceTime calls on my MacBook. I had the Litra Beam in a horizontal orientation above the laptop screen, raised up enough that I wasn't staring into the light to face the webcam lens. The light has a built in series of attachment spots for routing the power cable to keep the cable from inadvertently getting caught on objects or by your hand moving around the desktop.I have also used the light for illumination of video recording of items on the desktop, both for presenting of images and objects and recording of crafting techniques for my wife's sewing videos.
