I pick one of these up while I was building a better zoom/Microsoft teams set up. I wanted something with better video quality than the built in webcam of a laptop while being as simple to use as possible. The c920s exceeded my expectations in all ways. Zoom and teams picked it up right away and the autofocus does a good job of keeping you in focus despite any movement you might have while at your desk. The low light abilities were a pleasant surprise as well. I was expecting video quality to fall apart pretty hard outside of optimal lighting conditions but the camera was able to compensate pretty well for my less than ideal room lighting. I was expecting video quality to fall apart pretty hard outside of optimal lighting conditions but the camera was able to compensate pretty well for my less than ideal room lighting. The quality loss at night or in a dark room would probably be less than ideal but for my use case (general use during the day with sun coming in from my side and overhead lights in the room) it works pretty well. There are a couple downsides however. The integrated mics are not great and if your budget can stretch to a dedicated microphone as well then that's definitely the way to go, they sound alright but their pickup pattern is so wide that any other noise in the room along wit you gets picked up. More significantly (but also easier to deal with in some ways) Logitech's Capture software is not very good. It's functionality is alright but the way it's laid out and its responsiveness makes changing settings and seeing their impact a hassle. Fortunately you can skip it entirely if you're using the webcam with stuff like zoom and teams. Windows picks it up right away and it shows up in their options menus without any additional set up.That last part was of critical importance to me. One of the primary users of the system it would be part of is my elderly father so having to fiddle with settings menus regularly would be an immediate disqualifier. We've been running this webcam for a little under a month now and I can happily report there have been zero issues. After my initial set up (and a little fine tuning in the settings of zoom/teams) it's worked flawlessly since then.

The camera works fine with third-party software OBS, which is what I primarily use it with. I'm getting excellent video quality, so the camera itself is great.Where I ran into a bit of a snag was the logitech software. I had to update from the software for my Logitech C615 camera in order for it to recognize the new c920s. The problem is that I'm using both cameras for a two-host YouTube channel on Tech. The new software is incompatible with the older c615 camera, which still delivers great full HD video, but now I have to use 3rd party software with my c615, which is my primary camera. This also means I've lost pan-tilt-zoom control on the c615. I have no manually adjust it's focus, and have to use screen clipping tools to get a still pic from the c615.Bottom ... Also the software version info says this is the final version and there won't be updates, and it forced me to uninstall the c615 software during the install of the c920s software.I am using both cameras fine in OBS, however. (Open Broadcast Studio)Overall I am happy with the c920s.
For years I have been buying the more expensive Logitech C922 Pro Stream webcam, which includes a tripod but otherwise looks similar to this C920s, and with similar specifications. I never liked the look of this one, because of the privacy shutter. Of course some would buy it precisely to get the privacy shutter, but to me that is an extra complication and unnecessary. This time I bought a C920s because it was more readily available and cheaper and I needed it quick... and it turns out the privacy shutter is *optional*. Out of the box this looks exactly like a C922, but without the tripod, and including a *snap-on* optional privacy shutter in the box. I will probably just buy this C920s in the future--not only is it cheaper, but I've never once used the tripod that comes with the C922. The picture is very good, a full 1080p picture with good resolution and color, a worthy step up from the entry level and midrange Logitech webcams that are 720p at best.

This was an incredibly disappointing purchase. I decided to upgrade to the Logitech C920 late last year when I started to do some remote work for the higher resolution and privacy shutter. It worked pretty well for a couple months. It was a little irritating having to use a separate piece of software (Logitech Capture) to make adjustments to the framing, but I quickly adapted. After those first couple of months, however, the camera suddenly stopped working properly. Every time I started to use the camera, it would function for 1 or 2 minutes and then crash. It would flicker on and off a few times before triggering a popup in Windows 10 stating that the USB device malfunctioned and wasn't recognized by Windows.Searching for a fix, I discovered that this has been a ... Every time I started to use the camera, it would function for 1 or 2 minutes and then crash. It would flicker on and off a few times before triggering a popup in Windows 10 stating that the USB device malfunctioned and wasn't recognized by Windows.Searching for a fix, I discovered that this has been a significant, widespread problem for many people. I tried about a dozen different recommended fixes I found across various sights and none of them worked. Updating drivers, trying different USB ports, going into privacy settings, even adjusting BIOS... nothing fixed the issue. Recently, a Windows update listed Logitech USB Device Driver updates, so I thought perhaps the problem had been resolved, but no such luck.I went back to using my ancient 720p Logitech C525 several months ago, because at least it works. For $70, 2 months of use is nowhere near worth the price, not to mention all the time I've wasted trying to troubleshoot the problem. People have been posting to tech support forums for years trying to resolve this issue, so Logitech must be aware of it. I can't imagine why such a defective product continues to be sold.
I got this this clip on the top of my desktop computer big screen. It's fine for showing me in the picture, and the microphone pics up fine. It was also recognized by the Windows 10 OS very quickly, and drivers installed in short order. What the camera can't do is focus. It seems to be fixed-focus for a person about 18" away, but farther or nearer just doesn't work. Auto-focus should be standard. There were time when I was registering on a website and needed to show them a driver's license or passport or some other document, but it I got the paper even one foot from the screen it was hopelessly out of focus. I had to scan the thing and then upload a .pdf. Logitach usually has pretty good stuff, and I expected better performance at this price point. I don't plan to ... The classic webcam, Logitech's C920. I'm not sure, but this might be the most popular webcam ever sold. With COVID-premiums coming down, this is an excellent performance-value balance.Field of view is 78 degrees, great for many but I've since migrated to 90 degree cameras, or even true video cameras (with USB adapters) with wider views again. After a while, you might find the 78 degrees limiting unless you're primarily just pointing it at yourself within 3-4 feet. These are also auto-focus, a basic but essential feature I think, and not all cameras have that yet. I don't really need the 1x digital zoom, but if you do, this camera is falling behind some newer Logitech models which can zoom-in considerably more. The image quality is very good in most light, but while its spec sheet says "low light to sunlight", you should not expect amazing performance in a dark room. You will be relying on light shining off of you from your computer screen, and it doesn't do a great job with the camera these true low-light scenarios. There is a 1/4" thread for tripod mounting, which may not be needed for most, but nice to have that option, depending upon how you mount camera. If using two monitors, for example, you'll find the clip-on clamp sets the camera to point at the angle & tilt of the monitor which is often not ideal. You have to move yourself in your chair, but then find your background no longer lines-up. Tripods get around this, hence you might eventually need that tripod thread.Overall, still a great camera, but look at the spec sheets for other C9xx cameras if you're thinking of investing in a camera for today and for the future. There are other features the C920 doesn't have which are starting to make this model ever-so-slightly dated compared to peers like the C925e, C930, Brio, and 4K. They cost more, and may not be worth it for everyone, but they are all generally better too.
The Logitech webcam has exceeded all my expectations! The video quality is absolutely outstanding, delivering crystal-clear images with vibrant colors and excellent detail. The autofocus feature ensures that my video remains sharp and focused, even during movement. The built-in microphone captures clear audio without any distortion. Setting up the webcam was a breeze, thanks to its user-friendly design and plug-and-play functionality. The adjustable mount allows for easy positioning on any monitor or tripod. Whether I'm attending virtual meetings or recording videos, this Logitech webcam has become an indispensable tool. I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a top-notch webcam for professional or personal use.
