A Great Gaming (and Everyday) Mouse
The Logitech G705 Gaming Mouse has migrated from gaming mouse to my everyday computing mouse. It has a noticeably better feel, fit, and features than the mouse it replaced. It is exceptionally light, wireless and accurate. The thumb rest on the side is large and really helps avoid fatigue on longer sessions. The slide pads are large and the mouse moves easily. All the buttons are programmable via the very intuitive Logi GHub software. The lighting effect is programmable and kinda cool for display, but can be programmed off as well. The mouse connects to your PC via Bluetooth or a dedicated wireless dongle. Either way, the G705 connects quickly and easily to both Windows 10 and 11. You will want to download the Logi GHub package as it allows you to configure all the buttons and speed. In game, the buttons can be programmed through the GHub software and the functions remembered for a particular game, along with the resolution and report rate. Very nice and very convenient. The resolution is by default set to 800, 1600, & 3200, which can be cycled by the little button behind the wheel. One really cool thing is that the three dpi settings can be set to anything between 100 and 8200 per your taste, and switched on the fly. I currently have them set to 800, 1200, and 2000. Really cool in game when I can switch from a low res setting (slower more precise movement) for aiming to a higher res to scroll across the screen quickly. The two extra buttons thumb buttons work well and are positioned so that it's not easy to accidentally hit them; the thumb rest keeps your thumb below them. The battery is a rechargeable and I've been charging it once a week to top it off. Logi provides a Usb-c charging cable and an adapter so that the cable can be used with the dongle as well.Hand position is excellent, at least for me. I like a smaller mouse (for reference, I wear size large gloves). The G705 works well with either hand up or resting on the mouse. As I said, the G705 has become my everyday mouse as well, and now migrates between my gaming rig, deskside, and laptop. Yes, I'm going to be buying another soon... Highly recommended!... Show more

A Surprisingly Disappointing Mouse
This mouse represents another sad example of how when EVERYTHING is a gaming mouse, NOTHING is a gaming mouse. This is a wireless mouse with a contoured smaller fit that is being marketed as a gaming mouse. It is powered by a rechargeable battery with a reported use time of 40 "gaming-hours." It is also being marketed as a companion to the G735 headset and the G715 keyboard (which share a similar design aesthetic). The mouse is contoured for the RIGHT hand and would not be helpful to a left handed user. It is designed to fit a smaller hand but I found it to be very comfortable in my very large right hand. The design to fit a user with a smaller hand is a welcome arrival. The G705 can connect via Bluetooth to any computer but is designed to communicate with Logitech's LIGHTSPEED wireless technology (with included GHUB receiving dongle). Alas, this technology is only available for Windows 10/11 and for MAC OS - Chromebooks are not really considered gaming notebooks but I still think they deserve support for desirable mouse features. Any currently marketed hardware with features wholly unavailable to Chromebooks gets a star off from the start.Reduced to its advertised essence, this is a mouse, presumably for gamers, sporting support for moody RGB lighting. And while it can supply a lovely under-palm spray of light that is nicely projected from the mid-palm perimeter of the mouse, the functionality of the mouse is a deal-breaker.Both with Bluetooth connectivity and using their included dongle connectivity, this mouse was plagued with lag. Continuous movement was OK (not stellar), but initial movement was clunky and choppy - every move from still made it look like I was moving the mouse after a long break. For simple computer tasks like browsing and file navigation, the lag was annoying - it was fundamentally unacceptable in games. Thinking that I was being overcritical, I went through a comparison with eight other miscellaneous wireless mice I had here and this newly available mouse was easily the worst of the bunch.I understand that RGB lighting is cute and desirable but I can't understand how such a well known company can be manufacturing a mouse for this price that is annoying to use even when you're just browsing the web.Logitech could have done much better. I cannot recommend this mouse for any use whatsoever.... Show more

Compact, Comfortable and Colorful Gaming Mouse
I have tried lots of gaming mice and this one is by far one of the best. When I rest my hand on the mouse it feels comfortable and part of this is due to the well defined thumb rest. I game a lot on a laptop and using a full sized gaming mouse can be a pain if you don’t have a decent size table or desk. This mouse because of its size is perfect for carrying around in a backpack and gaming on the run.I have average sized hands, I wear a large glove and I still find this mouse very comfortable when gaming. The mouse is sloped and curved so that you can use either a palm or claw grip but in a palm grip my fingers do extend over the front of the mouse. The curve on the left side of the mouse is more aggressive giving you more room for the thumb rest which makes gripping this mouse feel natural. There isn’t any type of rubberized grips on the sides but the plastic there does have some texture to help with the grip. At 85 gms it’s a light weight but it feels solid and responsive during game play. This mouse is totally configurable using the Logitech’s G Hub software. You can reconfigure the 6 buttons, set the dpi and choose from numerous RGB patterns and colors. The buttons all feel solid and provide good feedback when pressed. They are not quiet switches but I would say they are comparable to other Logitech and gaming mice that I have used. The switch behind the wheel allows you to choose from three different dpi settings which you can set in the G Hub, the default setting is 800, 1600 and 3200. Each setting has a defined LED color so when you push the button you get visual confirmation what you have selected. The RGB lighting is provided by 3 LED arrays in the rear half of the mouse. You can customize the lighting by choosing the color and picking from the four included modes. Because the lighting is under the palm area of the mouse most of the lighting is covered by your hand when in use. Also in G Hub you can configure profiles and macros for gaming functions. Logitech gives you several options on connecting the mouse. You can use the included Lightspeed USB receiver, Bluetooth or the supplied USB cable. Note that you can access the G Hub and change the mouse configurations in all three connection options. The included USB cable can also be used for providing a wired extension for the USB receiver as well as charging the mouse. The mouse has a USB-C port which is used for charging the battery but also can be used to connect to your pc instead of using the wireless options. The battery should last for 40 hours between charges even when using the RGB lighting. The only negative about this mouse is that there is no built in storage for the USB receiver when you are using Bluetooth.... Show more

Does Everything Well
Logitech products have a great following in our household and most everywhere else as well because of the consistency and reliability they display. This is no different. The G705 Aurora is a big hit, specially with my wife, as she has made it a staple in her laptop bag, having negotiated it away from my grasp. Honestly, I liked it too. The connections were fast and snappy and while playing games, it never missed a beat. I play mainly sports games and I tried it on Football, Soccer, and Basketball mainly, and never missed a beat. But what attracted my wife is the size and it is the size that was a bit too small for my hands and I was willing to sacrifice the ownership of the mouse, eventually. But what attracted my wife is the size and it is the size that was a bit too small for my hands and I was willing to sacrifice the ownership of the mouse, eventually. Don't get me wrong-- the product with it sleek design and color looks wonderful and its small footprint will easily help it live a life both inside and outside the house. But somehow it felt a tad too small for my liking while playing games, though it was never that big a problem, to be honest. Also, the RGB would get blocked by my hands anyway and I would just turn it off. Its battery life stated 40 hours with the lights on and in my honest estimate, I was getting way better than that with no lights. I have a G Hub downloaded on desktop so connection etc. was never a problem even though you do not need to download it to use the mouse. If you do download it, remember that you can fiddle with it and change colors and look at the battery life etc. Overall, a great all-rounder of a mouse that will do every job that you will throw at it. Also, the rechargeability takes away a lot of extraneous headaches as well. Highly recommended.... Show more

Good mouse
I picked this mouse up to use with my old desktop system my son plays all his favorite games on, from roblox to minecraft to forza 5 and Beam NG. This mouse connected quickly by Bluetooth and was 75% charged out of box. You can connect by USB infrared vs bluetooth. The download of the software was not difficult, but it was a sluggish install. It says windows 10, mine is windows 11, seems to do ok. This did not come with a booklet to read, just a few drawings in the box and website to go to for instructions. The qr code could also get you there. You can only change the lights from what I can see by USB dongle, nit by Bluetooth. I didn't find the lights that customizable, but that being said, I really only want them to rotate through the spectrum like my keyboard and ... I didn't find the lights that customizable, but that being said, I really only want them to rotate through the spectrum like my keyboard and they do that well. Now for sensitivity, very good, you can change that by the click of a button between 3 settings. It feels really good in the hand egonimically, the thumb slot (right handed) is just perfect for my very average hand, button feel solid, and weight is light but sufficient (you don't forget it's there). It is similar weight to an Alienware one I have. Buttons very customizable and programable easy set up in the app. Overall no complaints. The price point is fair for a quality gaming mouse. Logitech is the bulk of the mice I have owned since my first master marble back in 1997, and I give this 5 stars. I do reccomend this to friends and family.... Show more

Great Gaming Mouse w/Almost Unlimited RGB Options

In order to use the mouse, you can either plug the receiver directly into a USB port on you PC, or plug the receiver into the extender then plug the extender into the cable and the cable into you USB port. I prefer this option because when it’s time to charge the battery in the mouse, I just unplug the extender from the cable and plug the cable into the mouse. They claim the mouse will keep charged through a 40 hour gaming session without charging. I can’t speak to that, but can say that I have been using it on a frequent basis for 2 weeks now and the battery still shows 47%. That’s pretty good considering the LED color show it does while in use.Overall, it’s a great mouse and the software makes it even better. Great "little" mouse!
The Logitech G705 Aurora Collection Wireless Optical Gaming Mouse is a delight to use ... with a caveat or two. I have been a long-time user of Logitech products both for gaming and for general use/business. Though this mouse is marketed as a "gaming mouse," I found it to be more enjoyable to use as my day-to-day mouse rather than my gaming mouse. The size is pretty ideal - it is small, but not tiny. I know Logitech markets this as a smaller form factor and that can be a pro and con depending on your hand size and how you hold your mouse. As for gaming, the mouse is nice and light, nimble, and gives you the option to use plugged in rather than over Bluetooth. I found it to be enjoyable to use and easy to set up (both plugged in and via Bluetooth). The Color-Sync technology is really much more of a novelty than anything else - though it is a lot of fun the way the mouse is configurable to match what you're doing. On the other hand, I think it's likely more just for show and will likely bleed the battery dry faster. That being said, the battery has OUTSTANDING life! I have yet to recharge it after using more than a week - at least a few hours every day - and it's still showing 47% battery. Impressive! As I am a M1 Max Mac user for gaming, I found the Logitech software to be somewhat disappointing - specific to this product. Other Logitech products and their Mac software equivalents are fantastic so I think there's likely room to improve. The button selections and what you can have them do is limited; I actually have been using this more as a work mouse than gaming for that very reason.Overall, I give this Logitech mouse a very enthusiastic 4-star rating. I am hopeful that further software updates in the future will help with button assignation and compatibility with MacOS... Show more

Logitech has been the gold standard in mice and keyboards for as long as I can remember and this mouse furthers their legacy of successful hardware. While the visual cosmetics in the form of lights add a nice touch to an otherwise boring mouse experience, it does not distract from the basic functionality of the device. The pads respond nicely to touch and the scroll wheel feels solid and smooth. The toggle switch to change mouse speeds is helpful but I would prefer this to be a software controlled setting as the placement of the button has caused me to trigger it a couple of times by accident. I haven't hit it with the Doritos test yet but I know its coming soon; you know the one: Your fingers are caked in heavenly Doritos cheese dust and after licking every last finger fighting to suck/lick/bite/scrape off the last tasty morsels of particulate your fingers are still orange so you reach for the box of Kleenex by your monitor and remember it’s been empty for a week. Your eyes frantically search the surrounding space for something to wipe off the caked-on-magic-dust-of-delight. You curse as you look around the room when you realize your only prospect of clean hands depends on the damp towel from your morning shower that is still curled up on your floor, but too far for you to reach unless you get up. Instead you succumb to your laziness and just wipe your fingers on your pajama bottoms and then wrap those fingers around the mouse and resume gaming. Several hours later after your gaming haze has worn off you look down at your formerly white mouse and see the orange residue reminding you that there’s another bag of Doritos in the kitchen.... Nice but...
The Logitech G705 is a nice wireless gaming mouse, that you can also use as a wired mouse, but Logitech does not promote it this way. Like many new Logitech products, it pairs and gets configured with the Logitech G Hub. Having used several other G products, I already had the G Hub installed. I used the USB-C connector on the supplied cable to connect the mouse to my notebook. It was immediately recognized as a G705 mouse and a driver was installed. The G Hub indicated the mouse was 48% charged. The two buttons on the side of the mouse can also be set to key combinations or shortcuts for your ‘gaming’ needs. The primary claim to fame of the G705 is it’s RGB lighting. This lighting is only visible from the rear of the mouse. The bottom of the mouse is solid with 2 oversized ‘Teflon’ pads (don’t try to remove these, they look like white shiny stickers) and an on/off with and a button for BT pairing. The G705 can be pair wirelessly via Bluetooth or the Logitech “Lightspeed” USB wireless adapter. I tried both, and both were nearly as quick and accurate as the wired connection. But I find the wire gets in the way at the worst times, I’ve got to blame my losses on something. Well using either wireless connection I’ve lost an excuse. The White Mist mouse looks very nice, it only weighs 3oz (85g) and is supposed to get 40h of battery life from a single charge. The charge time is underwhelming, keep the charging cable handy. Logitech bills the mouse as small compact gaming mouse.I wish it was a bigger with longer battery life. I think the light weight, and small size makes it a bit small for my everyday use. For my XL hands have used the M650 and M510 which I find are a better all day fit. And for gaming the G502/Hero has better specs, but no BT or RGB lighting. Its gaming performance is excellent I tried it with Rainbow 6 Siege and Minecraft and found no lag, the mechanical mouse clicking was very satisfactory.I could easily use the G705 as a gaming travel mouse, but it’s small size, will likely find me reaching for another for daily use. I like the RGB effects, it a great looking mouse, with some compromises due to its small size.... Show more

The RGB colors that will flash, fade etc. according to your settings, is nice as well. You have six (6) buttons available on the G705 that are customizable to your needs. It will pair via BT or through the included 2.4Ghz Logi Bolt USB-A receiver. I prefer the Logi Bolt with its lower latency. I have to say that this mouse is precise and smooth to use. I would like an additional option to set the active DPI sensitivity to 2400 (in between the offered 1600 and 3200) – 3200 is a bit too sensitive for me and 1600 seems a little too “slow,” but I’ve adapted to the 1600 setting now so it’s not a major issue. You can store different profiles for varying effects and performance for different games, apps or what-have-you. The mouse is solid without being too heavy. Frankly, some mice are simply too light to me so having just a little weight in hand seems more solid, reassuring and less likely to bump around accidentally. For my part, though, I’ve opted to turn off the lighting (found in settings in the tutorial rather than a simple switch in the settings – you can alter the lighting in various ways in the ordinary settings, but I couldn’t find just an ordinary switch in those same settings to turn the lighting off entirely) to provide a little more battery life. It comes with a nifty USB cable with a USB-A on one end and a USB-C on the other with an even niftier adapter that will change either end to the other, so you have the best arrangement I’ve seen, for connectivity. You plug in the cable to a USB power source and the C end to the front of your mouse (looks exactly like a wired mouse, which you can use exactly like a wired mouse while it’s charging) to charge its onboard battery. It says it will run about 47 hours on the battery under normal use. I haven’t tested to see how accurate this assessment is, but I’d say that’s in the ballpark. In my case I have a Logitech wireless keyboard and I sometimes turn them both off when I shut down my computer at the end of the day. Sometimes I don’t, but both go into a deep sleep mode that barely uses any charge according to Logitech. I have had wireless mice in the past that lasted longer on a charge, but they may have had less going on inside requiring less overall power – that’s a guess, but I suspect it’s accurate.Overall, I really like the G705. It’s very functional, accurate and precise. I’d recommend it for gaming, office, or home use, all three of which is my use pattern.... Show more
