Beware different versions

To my dismay I discovered my work computer does not have bluetooth, and since then I have learned that bluetooth connections are often disabled on enterprise machines. So, for Flow to work in the manner I had hoped, the Bolt USB receiver is essential. Fortunately, the MX Master 3S "for Mac" is marked on the bottom of the mouse itself that it will connect with the Bolt USB receiver, although in the table above it doesn't say that it does, so I have ordered one hoping that it will work.Further confusing the entire situation is the fact that there are multiple versions of the MX Keys keyboard that you are likely to be pairing this mouse with as well. The MX Keys "for Mac" and the regular MX Keys both are NOT compatible with the Bolt USB receiver, and come with the "Logitech Unifying Receiver" in the box. Hilariously, the Logitech Unifying Receiver is NOT compatible with the MX Master 3S so now I'm stuck with a minimum of 2 receivers on my work PC. I even stumbled across a third version of the MX Keys dubbed "for business" that claims compatibility with the Bolt receiver and says it includes one in the box. Again, the same price. It just should not be that difficult to get a mouse and keyboard that work like they are implied to.You'll notice on Logitech's site that they continually imply that the MX series products work together seamlessly but I think this is misleading. You'll notice that on the 'combos' page under shop>mice and keyboards>combos, that they show a picture of a MX Master 3S for Mac and a MX Keys for Mac at the top of the page, but then don't actually list any of the MX series under the product combos paired for purchase. I think this is because they realize the bird's nest of convoluted compatibility issues they've created with all these different versions of very similar products.I've left the review 2 stars because they keyboard and mouse themselves seem excellent. I haven't had them very long but I'm making this review on my MacBook with the MX Keys for Mac and MX Master 3S both paired over bluetooth and enjoying the experience. Build quality is excellent, keys and clicks are quiet yet crisp, but the maze of different versions and connections at play is just ridiculous.

Bluetooth headphones make the use unusable

If you have bluetooth headphones, say Bose QC-35 - one of the most popular headsets on the market, and you want to use your mouse at the same time, forget it. Whenever you are on a video call, the mouse will lag so incredibly badly that you will return it for a refund, just like I did.I'm amazed at how bad this is compared to my old Logitech mouse with the stupid USB dongle. If they would make this available with a USB-C dongle, I'd buy it again. But a bluetooth mouse is clearly still in beta and not ready from prime time in today's remote work world.

Excellent refinement on a great mouse!

Found this while browsing at Micro Center, and it was an instant must buy. The only thing that made me hesitate at all was the new "silent" left/right buttons. It turns out, they are actually fine, they still have a very tactile click, but not the noise. Pretty cool. The software works pretty well, although I was still not able to use the upper roller for zoom on MacOS.The only other quirk I had was that this mouse, for me anyways, does not work nearly as well on bluetooth, as I does on the Bolt receiver (2021 iMac 24" w/M1). Much more responsive and smooth on the Bolt, for sure. Definitely recommended! *This review is for the MX Master 3S for Mac.

Feels great / works great love the customizing
18 March 2023

It’s been many years since I had an iMac in the soft blue color and now going from PC to mac, I bought the apple magic mouse and the apple trackpad and then found this beauty, so I returned the others. It is best for me, switching from PC (work) to Mac (home). I needed something that worked in a similar way. Also liked the fact that I could actually reverse the scrolling direction so I’m not constantly hitting walls when I’m switching back-and-forth between modalities. Love the shape of this mouse- it is great and feels good in my hand - and the sideways scrolling wheel is cool, I do have to remember to move my thumb up to use it, where I’m used to just tipping the regular scroll wheel to scroll sideways. There might be a customization for tipping the upper scroll ... MoreIt’s been many years since I had an iMac in the soft blue color and now going from PC to mac, I bought the apple magic mouse and the apple trackpad and then found this beauty, so I returned the others. There might be a customization for tipping the upper scroll wheel to scroll sideways. I’ll have to look into that. I also need to explore the customizability of the small button on the thumb shelf. One step at a time to train myself.

Good ergonomics and functionality
16 November 2022

After using more than a dozen cheap mice, I was hesitant to spend $100 on a mouse. I now understand why I ought to have upgraded my mouse technology a long time ago. The MX Masters 3S has incredible pointer accuracy. The pointer glides exceptionally smoothly across two displays. The speed at which you can browse the internet is also excellent. In addition to the normal vertical scroll wheel that all contemporary mice have, I discovered that I also liked the horizontal scroll wheel, which allowed me to left- and right-scroll the pages. The battery life is incredible, too! It has only required charging once so far! The mouse's ergonomics are second to none. The most comfortable mouse I've ever used.

Laggy on Macbook Pro M1 Max
16 November 2022

I have a Macbook Pro M1 Max latest OSX 13.0.1 (22A400). The mouse is VERY VERY laggy and skips while using, it is driving me crazy. A quick search on Google and Reddit i found everyone complaining about the bluetooth. I am not sure if this is something the Apple Macs have messed up because my MagicMouse works flawlessly and without any skips so sure, it might be Apple Mac monopoly over mice and jeopardizing mice for others like Logitech but why would you sell me a mice that doesnt work with my hardware?! I will check with their support further, if it doesnt resolve soon i will return it. I also mind you have purchased a mouse pad because i thought the mouse surface i have on my desk isnt good for this mouse but again, its the mouse not the desk/pad.

Logitech MX Master 3S Review
20 October 2022

Having been a massive Logitech fan for many years, I have always kept up to date with their latest tech. Naturally I was extremely eager to see what the MX Master 3S was all about. After using it for a little while, I could tell this was going to be a massive hit! Overall the mouse is extremely satisfying to use, its ergonomic design makes it feel a part of your hand, and its silent clicking works remarkably. I love that you can pair multiple devices and switch between with a press of a button, and the battery life is awesome. Would highly recommend this to anyone!

My way or the highway hand position, otherwise great
3 December 2022

This mouse has many great features from its high build quality to highly customizable programmable buttons. I love the side scroll wheel. But the shape will tell your hand what to do, and you have to either love it or hate it. For me, it feels like my hand is climbing the side of a mountain, forcing more weight onto my wrist. I have average sized hands and can only reach the back of the scroll wheel. It's tilted at a slight angle which is a bad halfway point between a traditional and vertical mouse. This forces all the weight onto my wrist bone. Either give me a regular mouse where the weight can be spread over my whole wrist or a vertical mouse with the weight on the side of my hand. While it's workable, I'd prefer something like the Magic Mouse that's slim and ... MoreThis mouse has many great features from its high build quality to highly customizable programmable buttons. Well Designed Product

I've been using the 3S for about a month now, and I would describe the performance as very good. The mouse appears to hold a charge for a long time (I might have charged it once?), tracking is great, phyisical feel is great for me, and overall it operates as expected.I've used multiple MX mice in the past, and dozens of mice over 30+ years of computer use. The design of the mouse is pleasing. I was attracted to the light color as something of an alternative to most input products on the market, to somewhat match the white color used in many Apple products (note: the mouse is not white, it’s a very light grey). I expect it to get a bit dingy with use; I’m not sure how convenient cleaning is. I expect it to get a bit dingy with use; I’m not sure how convenient cleaning is. Also, regarding the industrial design, it's a little odd that the right button is shorter than the left, when one's middle finger is typically longer than the index finger, but I've found no issues with this design. There are additional button and scroll controls on the mouse which can be customized using Logitech’s Logi Options+ software (very nicely designed), but I haven’t assigned much beyond the default settings.Logitech removed the option to work with their Unifying USB receiver dongle, and now uses an optional “Bolt” receiver. This might be an issue for some folks. One aspect I dislike is the Smart Shift scroll wheel behavior. It claims to change scroll speed from line-by-line to fast speed during a scroll action. This behavior is enabled out of the box which I found annoying since, in some cases (such as on web sites with custom scroll behaviors), this behavior hinders usability in that page content is sometimes over- or under-scrolled. I thought this was the default scroll behavior until I installed the Logi Options+ software, where the feature can be disabled. One mark against the product is cost. At the time of my purchase, retail was $99 which I find excessive. I went ahead with the purchase thanks to $20 discount code provided by Logitech, but otherwise I would not have purchased.High cost aside, the long charge-holding ability, customizable behaviors and physical design make the 3S a solid product worth purchasing.
