This is a good option if you want a nice simple control pad for casual gaming on your PC. It is cheap yet in my experience works well with quite a few games. It is reasonably comfortable to use, even for moderately long periods, however it is not quite as comfortable as higher quality gamepads.About the only thing that I really miss usiing this thing is not having an analogue stick. However, if like me you can live without this for your games, than this should not be a major issue.Very good all round and should meet any casual gaming needs easily.

I think I should have sprung for the model up with more buttons. This one works great for the purpose I got it (Kid Icarus rules!). Tried playing some SWBF II and eh, that didn't go so well! HA HA! But I think I will try buying the next model up on my future NG purchase Logitech - great job on the blue color! Keep it up

I've taken apart and repaired many (very) old logitech devices. Every time I do, It's apparent that the designers and engineers behind these things love what they do. Keyboards that channel spills down past electronic parts. Extra-thick cords that resist wear-out and prolong device life. High-quality electronic components you don't normally see in low-priced equipment. I wish all companies took pride in their products like Logitech seems to.

I spent a good chunk of time trying to get the button-presses to register as events in order to prevent my display from shutting off and my computer from going to sleep. Searching forums yields many people with similar problems with no apparent solution. I solely use this gamepad with emulators, so an easy fix for me was to write wrapper-scripts that temporarily change my power settings using powercfg, run the emulators, then change my power settings back when finished. It works for me. Running Win 7 64-bit home premium.
This controller feels great and does the job. And it has plenty of buttons. As one other guy mentioned, the addition of analog sticks would make this controller perfect, but I doubt that'd keep it as inexpensive. Additional colors would be nice, too. If you decide to buy one, buy TWO of them. That way you can get some two-player action going on Contra. And if you have a laptop with a DVI connector, you can get a DVI to composite / s-video converter, and hook the laptop up to a television. That, coupled with the two USB controllers, makes for a great portable game system!
great controller for old fighting games like Street Fighter 2. The dpad is awesome for percision.
I bought two of these Logitech USB Precision Gamepads to play SNES ROMs with my son. I wanted him to experience the same kind of fun I had growing up with SNES and N64 gaming. I never was a fan of the SNES gamepad, but I loved the N64 controller pads and consider them the standard by which all other gamepads are judged. That being said, these Logitech gamepads do a pretty good emulation of the old N64 controller. The main differences are of course no control strick and no Z-trigger. I preferred to use the controller stick over the D-pad in many of the old N64 games, so that is one component that I really miss not having. However, all things considered, I still find these Logitech gamepads fun to use with the old games, and my son enjoys them too. I'm glad that Logitech made a quality product that can handle the tough gaming abuse that me and my boy can dish out. Lack of the controller stick cost Logitech's gamepad an egg. Although these gamepads aren't perfect, they do the job well.
This was not the controller, i needed for my NUON DVD game system, however the return process was quick and easy
Some might miss the analog sticks. If you want them, there are plenty of controllers that have them. I would argue, however, that if you want an analog stick you'd be better off with an arcade stick. If you want two analog sticks, you're probably better off using the mouse and keyboard. If you insist on two sticks, you're better off with a console. Just my opinion.
Installs itself, beautifully designed, sturdy feel, with the quality of Logitech behind it! Now hard to find, is Logitech going to resume making these?
