My son has had this Logitech wireless keyboard for about three years. As you can tell from the photo the Logitech symbol has begun to fade. He uses this keyboard everyday and several times a day also. He is constantly getting on his computer. This keyboard is very lightweight and made slim. Which I prefer the slim ones over the thicker heavier keyboards. He likes that it's wireless that way he can just hold it in his hands instead of setting it on his computer desk. If you want a good reliable wireless keyboard then this is definitely a good one to get.

Fantastic Media Keyboard, far superior to the new

The K400r is amazing, comfortable to use, great options and doesn't feel cheap like the new one. We've used this keyboard on our media center TV for almost 8 years and are only replacing as the keys are worn off from years of use and the kiddos want to type. We tried the updated version of this Keyboard, the K400 plus and it is absolute cheap garbage. The trackpad takes multiple swipes to move across the screen and keys are uncomfortable to type with (and missing all the useful shortcut keys of the older model). I would highly recommend this older model (even though it's a bit more than the updated, well worth it) over the new version any day. If someone gave me the new version, I would toss it and still buy this one. Easy tell is the new one has some yellow keys ... MoreThe K400r is amazing, comfortable to use, great options and doesn't feel cheap like the new one. Great little keyboard with one, small caveat
3 June 2020

First of all, let me begin by saying that I've purchased this keyboard a second time after spilling coffee on the first one and putting it out of commission. However, I was thinking about buying the second one before the coffee incident because the key labels had worn off. Now that I've put a lot of use with the 2nd one, the key labels on that have also worn off. I am using another Logitech wireless keyboard (K360) with a wireless Logitech trackball connected to my desktop. The key labels on it seem to be more robust than on the K400, although the "E" key is starting to show wear. I would have given this keyboard 5 stars if the key labels weren't so prone to wearing off. I've never had any problems using these keyboards with different computers and other devices ... MoreFirst of all, let me begin by saying that I've purchased this keyboard a second time after spilling coffee on the first one and putting it out of commission. I've never had any problems using these keyboards with different computers and other devices such as smartphones and tablets.Despite the issues with the K400's key labels, I've purchased another one because I haven't found any other maker of wireless keyboards that has a mouse alternative (like a touchpad) as part of its configuration. Many years ago, I used a keyboard that had a trackball located in the middle right below the space bar. That was a great setup but unfortunately, they don't make it anymore and that's why I'm using the K400. What's nice about this keyboard is how light and compact it is. I have a laptop connected to a big TV in the bedroom and I can operate it using this keyboard while sitting up in bed. As I noted, I've also used it to type on my smartphone by connecting an OTC cable or adapter to it with the wireless receiver (dongle) inserted into its USB jack.Since this won't be my primary keyboard, I expect the key labels to last a lot longer than the previous two. What really makes it worthwhile is the low price given that it essentially functions as both a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse. Someone complained about the sensitivity of the keyboard which told me that the user was unaware of the Setpoint software that controls the settings for all of the wireless Logitech devices. It's a free program, too. It allows you to have several Logitech devices connected to a single receiver. More importantly, you have several controls for the keyboard that includes assigning different actions to the Fn function keys (the ones that have icons in orange on them) You can also fully control the sensitivity, movement, orientation and action of the touchpad. For example, I used Setpoint to disable the tapping action that mimics a button press on a mouse since I prefer to use the two "mouse keys" under the touchpad instead. I found myself inadvertently producing a "mouse click" every time I put my finger on the touchpad surface, even with the sensitivity turned down. This way, I only use the touchpad to move the cursor and mouse pointer across the screen and leave the selection process to the touchpad keys..I highly recommend buying this keyboard with the caveat about the key labels susceptibility to wear. I would suggest that you wash and dry your hands prior to using the keyboard which will increase the longevity of the key labels. Oh, and don't drink or eat anything while you're using the keyboard since doing so is hazardous to its health.

4/5 well for the price its 5/5, but the trackpad isnt so great as its small, but this isnt my primary keyboard. Ive been gaming from a recliner, lazybt style and rather than get up I can just use this lol, so it does the trick like a tv remote vs buttons on the tv in the wireless aspect, but for a keyboard and main use. Nah please skip. Maybe if you dont type more than stuff youd search for. If youre getting to typing and like speed, this one will slow you down, the shift button feels out of place again not the point for me. I still have my main keyboard wired and my main mouse works while this here reviewed keyboard is active, so in short they can work simultaneously. Theres a power button on the keyboard which is cool, but I point that out so that you dont ... More4/5 well for the price its 5/5, but the trackpad isnt so great as its small, but this isnt my primary keyboard. This wouldnt be great if you have unsaved stuff up is my point. Great stocking stuffer. Since I bought 3 I have a spare. Theyre not heavy duty. Not that you need one to take into battle, seems sturdy enough. I havent dropped it yet, so well see.

I bought this on sight as it is a fabulous idea and perfect for my needs. I'm using it for a mac mini plugged into my living room TV. Unfortunately there are some flaws that make this much less useful than I had hoped. First, the range is much less than advertised. At a distance of 10 feet the mouse stopped working for slow/fine movements and was a bit jumpy for mid-size movements. At close range the mouse is just adequate. The real deal breaker for me is the location of the right "shift" key. They put the up arrow button where the shift key normally is, and put the shift key to the right of that. So basically anytime I want to capitalize a letter with my left hand I end up moving my cursor to a random location. I'm writing this review using the keyboard and it's taking me way longer than normal as I have to go back and fix mistakes every sentence. I may return this for a slightly better Logitec keyboard. As I said, the idea is great. This implementation is poor though.

Keyboard works more like a TV remote, you need to point it at the receiver in order for it to work, angle it too far to the left or right and you lose connection. If you are sitting Directly in front of your Computer, it shouldn’t be a problem. UNLESS it’s in your lap and a piece of your clothing is just barely covering the sensor. 🤦‍♂️ Biggest problem for me was that the Touch pad itself has it’s own little shortcut to minimize a program and open up your widgets/news/weather…etc. This is a HUGE problem for me, because it keeps happening unintentionally just from using the touch pad normally. If I’m playing a game or doing anything it’s a pain to constantly have to close my widgets and have to reopen my program. Works great to control mini pc connected to TV.
29 October 2023

I own 2 of these, I bought the first one a long time ago and loved it. That's why I bought a second one.Battery life is very good, I haven't had the need to replace batteries in it yet. It doesn't have the section where the numeric keys are located in a normal keyboard, but I don't use or need that portion. The only use I give to it, is to control the mini pc connected to my tv and to control some parts of a fire cube tv.When I bought my girst one I was a little disappointed, because the thing lacks a scroll button/key, but you don't really need one, you have to use your 2 fingers and the touch pad to do that.

[Rewarded Review] Lasts forever!

I have had this keyboard for several years now and it is still working. I've taken this with me to 3 different countries and it has survived without a problem. I like this one better than the K400 Plus, the gray one, don't get that one. The keys on the Plus model are harder to use. This is perfect if you have your computer hooked up to your tv and you want to lie in bed or sit on the couch. This thing will last you probably forever, and at 20 bucks it's a great deal.Again, don't get the gray K400 Plus model, this one is easier to use. Like others have reported, this does have connection issues if you are too far from your dongle, or there's things in the way between it and the keyboard. I just use a USB extension cable so that I can place the dongle in the perfect spot so the keyboard works perfectly.

[Rewarded Review] Lightweight keyboard with odd key placement

I bought this to work with my new Raspberry Pi, it easily connected, and it works great with Pi, even though the meager documentation doesn't mention anything about Linux capabilities. The keyboard is very light weight, which is a potential good quality, but the light weight also accounts for the slightly greater noise during typing and a less than solid feel.It is about 90% the size of my regular desktop keyboard, but this has to include a trackpad and "mouse buttons" under the track pad so there is no room for a numeric keypad. The 90% size means it is a little cramped for those of us with large hands. The trackpad supports two fingered scrolling, and it can be adjusted so that slow finger motions will only move the cursor about 1/4 of the way across the monitor ... MoreI bought this to work with my new Raspberry Pi, it easily connected, and it works great with Pi, even though the meager documentation doesn't mention anything about Linux capabilities. On the other hand, rapid finger motion across the trackpad will move the cursor across the entire screen in one sweep.I've had the keyboard for 2 months and it has been working fine. The only drawbacks are lack of a light to tell you that CAPS LOCK is on, and the placement of the up/down/right/left arrows in the bottom right corner of the keyboard. The UP ARROW key is between the ?/ key and the SHIFT key which results in a very small SHIFT key, and I commonly hit the UP ARROW key when I want to press SHIFT. To the right of the SPACE BAR, are ALT, CTRL, LEFT ARROW, DOWN ARROW, RIGHT ARROW keys.Price was very good.
