The bag is built very well and the straps are very well made and spread the load evenly across your back. The hip straps are a nice feature. The top compartment has no padding so be careful putting anything fragile in the top part but it is very spacious so will easily swallow a Speedlight and other accessories. As mentioned in another review, the camera compartments don't have much give and are very rigid. Saying that I feel confident putting my camera and lenses in there without fear of them being damaged in say boot of my car. The 2 reasons for the 4 star rating is the padding or lack of in the main compartment and the lack of rigidty around the top but do not let this put you off buying this bag as it is great for everyday use.

I have the Lowenpro Sling but wanted something a bit bigger. The fastpack fits the bill. Great straps & padding. Plenty of room. In the bottom I can carry the Canon RF 100-400mm f/5.6-8, with hood reversed, the EOS R with attached RF 70-200mm f/4, with hood extended. These lenses can be switched too. Each lens is accommodated with hood on when mounted on camera. Room to spare. In the top I carry the EOS RP with attached RF 14-35mm f/4 hood on and the RF 50mm f/1.8 hood on. Pockets accommodate a Canon speedlite, Lume Cube mini, four batteries, two chargers, all weather card case. By unlashing the right strap, the bag slings under your left arm, accessing the bottom left side. The top can also be accessed tho less readily. Very happy with purchase. Highly recommended.

The Fastpack 250 AW Pro III is comfortable and holds all my camera gear and A LOT more. It's a very functional camera backpack that holds my necessary Lumix full frame gear (Lumix S5II, 24-105mm, 70-300mm, 16-35mm and 85mm) AND travel items. I originally purchased the ThinkTank Backstory 15 for an upcoming international trip to Japan but even though it was well made, it really only fit camera gear and not many of the odds and ends you need when traveling. I've owned the first two versions of the Fastpack 250 but the zippers on the laptop broke on both (and the side entry was problematic as my laptop fell out a couple times when I forgot to zip it up!) But this latest version has some very nice security upgrades and is larger, which I love. The pockets and layout of ... I physically compared this bag to several cheaper options from the large online retailer named after a South American rainforest. The Lowepro bag was clearly superior in every way except for price: The zippers are big and smooth, rather than narrow and fiddly. It has pretty good structure and protection all around. The laptop pocket is easy to reach. The side entry works well. I appreciate the 4 loops on the front of the bag, so I can lash extra stuff on the side. The materials are fantastic. I think the only weak point for me is the straps. They are a bit under-padded for a bag of this size. Note: This is the Pro variation, which is deeper and slightly taller than the regular BP250. The top and bottom sections are vertically split about 50/50 on the pro, but more ... I needed the extra depth of the pro, but if that wasn't an issue I'd be happy with the regular.
I spent a lot of time reading reviews and decided to purchase this mk3 back pack which seemed to fit my requirements. I wanted a way of carrying my camera plus some accessories on day trips around the Lakes. I was tempted to purchase an older version elsewhere, but for the extra price decided the improvements in the Mk 3 Pro bag were worth the extra cost. I choose the Pro version as this is made for larger cameras, but with a smaller space on top. It was big enough to fit my medium format camera with one lens attached. After a week walking in the Lakes I found the bag performed well and satisfied my requirements. I liked the separate sections rather than an all in one bag. Some minor cons that might be considered. The compartment dividers in the lower half were not ... I liked the separate sections rather than an all in one bag. Some minor cons that might be considered. The compartment dividers in the lower half were not the most flexible I have seen, but I managed to manoeuvre them to fit the v. large camera OK. Not much room for anything else big in the bottom part though! The build quality is good but perhaps not as strong as some other bags I have. It probably wouldn't protect your camera if the bag fell off the side of a steep mountain! The straps are quite thin (again compered with other heavy duty bags I have), but seemed to be strong enough for the purpose. The strap supplied for the tripod is fine, but it is not secured to the bag and could easily get lost imho. Some of the strap connectors are a bit small and fiddly with cold hands. That said, for the price I paid - it was a good decision for me, and I would recommend it.
This is a great backpack that is versatile. I bought this for a Canon M50, and I'm looking to add some lenses in the next couple of months. It is an average size backpack for camera gear. I initially was looking for a smaller bag to go with the M50 as it is a smaller camera. However, I also own a Canon T3i, and this bag can also accommodate that camera with some extra lenses so it should be able to accommodate larger cameras like the 90D. I do love the interior top compartment which can fit an Ulanzi phone rig when I want to use my iPhone to record videos. It can also easily fit a gimbal and selfie stick. The top interior compartment also has a separate pocket with zipper large enough to stow a small tablet (iPad mini) or cables. You can fit a table top tripod, mic, ... The top interior compartment also has a separate pocket with zipper large enough to stow a small tablet (iPad mini) or cables. You can fit a table top tripod, mic, dead cat, and portable lights in the second top compartment that has several pockets for things such as pens and a small notebook. A larger tripod can be strapped to the bottom of the back pack and there is room for a water bottle or small tripod in the side pocket. Overall, this is a sturdy backpack that can protect your camera gear from light to medium jolts or bumps and still light enough to not weigh you down. The ripstop fabric looks like it can take a few gouges well. It's not one of the stiff, rigid camera bags (which may protect your gear from tougher handling). Instead it has more of a natural feel of a backpack you might use to carry your laptop, books, and folders for school or work.
Needed a bit larger backpack to carry same amount of camera gear presently carried in my original backpack PLUS a change of clothes and my iPad for upcoming, three-week, European river cruise. After extensive research and physically inspecting my friend?s BP 250 (in black,) I decided on the gray in the same model. It has been an excellent choice. Comfort, ergonomic design, ease of access, and flexibility are the highlights of this pack. Old pack containing same equipment was uncomfortable on my shoulders, plus it put pressure along my spine while hiking. The BP 250 containing same camera equipment, but with MORE items overall, not only is comfortable, but makes the load feel less than it actually is. ?Free gift? with my purchase of the pack was the GorillaPod, for ... The BP 250 containing same camera equipment, but with MORE items overall, not only is comfortable, but makes the load feel less than it actually is. ?Free gift? with my purchase of the pack was the GorillaPod, for which I have no use; however, I did purchase the LowePro GearUp Wrap to hold small essentials. While it is, IMHO, well overpriced, it is the perfect companion for the BP250 to hold cords, dongles, extra batteries, SD cards, etc. in a very accessible and compact manner. I do wish the ?stabilizing belt? that goes around the waist were more of a substantial, padded, hip-riding belt, but if it were, the BP 250 would neither be as compact nor store as easily in aircraft overhead compartments or under seat. Yet, the intended function of the pack?s belt is obvious once it is on and clipped; it does a very good job of limiting pack sway and bounce. To top it all off, the BP 250 comes with a separate raincover stowed in its own pouch! In the pack, I am currently carrying (with room to spare for a full change of lightweight clothes:)Canon T6i (in a rubber camo skin)Canon 18-55Canon 55-250Sigma 100-40010 filters, 7 SD cards, 3 Canon batteries, charger, iOS download dongle, air bulb, Canon remote shutter release, lightning cable, iPad, ultralight 60? tripod, and pack raincover. There is still room (but barely!) for a pair of lightweight poly travel pants, poly shirt, poly boxers, and socks. The LowePro BP 250 is well-thought-out, user-friendly camera/travel pack.
I bought this because my dog tore a hole in my original one I have had for probably 8 years or so. I loved the design of that pack and the functionality it offered so I decided to go with this one again. Overall, it's a good backpack. This new model is much lighter than the old and the zippers are really nice -- smooth and easy to use one-handed. The pockets on the top of the pack are super convenient and this pack was perfect for a recent international trip where I needed to pack a change of clothes, documents, etc., with my camera. It's actually very slick. The only thing I am disappointed in is the waist strap. The old one had a really heavy duty waist strap that you could comfortably wear all day. This was great because I often hiked with it and had no problem. ... MoreI bought this because my dog tore a hole in my original one I have had for probably 8 years or so. This was great because I often hiked with it and had no problem. In the new model, they kind of cheaped out on waist strap and you can tell -- it's just a plan strap you would use to tighten the front of a pack -- no comfort pads like the last one. So, I used it to hike with this trip, but it just never sat right on my waist and it's just not as comfortable as the old one. Otherwise, great bag that serve its purpose at a decent price point.
I bought the Fastpack Pro 250 to haul around a mirrorless body and two lenses: 24-70 and 70-200. It take a little configuration magic, but I can get both lenses in comfortably along with a few odds and ends. The top area is dedicated to daytime necessities for trekking through urban areas, parks, zoos, etc. I think this is the best scenario for this particular bag.I did discover that it's not quite stable enough to use as a sling for rapid access, but it's a fair compromise to have room for everything I need on a casual outing. I would not recommend this for dedicated on-site work, but for more open-ended outings it is perfect. The shoulder strap connections appear to be a potential weak spot, but at this price point and for my intended use I cannot deduct any ... I would not recommend this for dedicated on-site work, but for more open-ended outings it is perfect. The shoulder strap connections appear to be a potential weak spot, but at this price point and for my intended use I cannot deduct any points. If they begin to fray or come apart I will try to update this or submit another review.Points to note:A D850 or Z7II and adapter with Nikon 70-200 will exactly fit in the lower compartment. Adding the lens hood makes it difficult to include any lenses longer than say a standard 50. Adding the 24-70 hits capacity and security, so try to use smaller glass. The included dividers are well made and help reduce unused space while providing reasonable protection for casual movement.I would prefer to have more dividers that can be used as shock/suspension, along with some way to 'grab' the tops of each divider to reduce movement. The bottom of the bag has minimal padding, so be careful setting it down; consider distributing items for cushion or shock.Overall this was a great purchase. I don't have any faults with the design based on its intent and price point. If you're looking for dedicated on-site field work, consider the ProTactic series, especially the 450. For crawling around cities the Fastpack Pro is your best bet.
This bag has everything I needed. I do a lot of day hiking photography all year round in the PNW and wanted a bag that could handle a full day out on the trails in wet conditions. Recently, I took this bag out for two rainy days and it performed really well. The top compartment easily carried food/snacks for the day, rain gear (pants/jacket), a packable puffy coat and wool hat and gloves. It was full, but I'm sure it could fit a bit more if needed.I have a EOS R, 24-70mm, and three vintage prime lenses. Organizing the walls in the camera compartment is simple, walls are sturdy, and keep everything snug and protected. On both days there were periods of good rain, so I used the rain cover as well. Organizing the walls in the camera compartment is simple, walls are sturdy, and keep everything snug and protected. On both days there were periods of good rain, so I used the rain cover as well. At first I thought it would get in the way of the camera compartment, but due to the strong elastic around the edges, I could easily pull it up, open the compartment, and pull the camera out without issue. The rain cover fully covers the bag (top and bottom) and the kept everything dry the whole day even after setting it down on the wet ground for snack breaks. The only thing I didn't like was the primary tripod attachment options. Using the side pocket and the clip strap just didn't work well. The pocket holds the tripod well, but strap that connects to the bag to narrowly, so the tripod either leans forward or backward and pulls on the pack. The bottom clip straps work great for the tripod horizontally, but the straps connect to camera compartment door and the tripod pulls on the door fabric. Not sure that connection will hold up over time. All that being said, I have a nice tripod, but it's older and a bit heavier and longer when collapsed than those on the market today. If you have a smaller light-weight tripod it probably will work fine...also, there a few strong loops on different parts of the bag that you can easily use to attach the tripod different ways.Love this bag so far and looking forward to more adventures with it this winter!
