I spent a long time researching before buying this as it’s a big investment and just over 2 weeks later I have no regrets. When it first arrived I found the bowl very difficult to remove, I assumed it was a fault so contacted Magimix and they immediately offered to send a new bowl. By the time this had arrived my bowl had loosened up considerably with use and the new one was just as stuff so maybe that’s just how they are. The bowl is lovely to use and easy to clean as I’d hoped. Magimix suggest doing a set of first week recipes while you learn to use the machine which is a great idea but no way set it to vegetarian so not really doable for me. I’ve found the Facebook group invaluable while getting started and am now starting to use the machine more naturally. ... MoreI spent a long time researching before buying this as it’s a big investment and just over 2 weeks later I have no regrets. I’ve found the Facebook group invaluable while getting started and am now starting to use the machine more naturally. Amazing for soups and sauces, barely have to chop anything, just throw it all in and press the soup button. Much smoother results that any soup maker I’ve had and v convenient. Great for pastry and bread. Rice worked well though I needed to buy a little metal pudding how that fitted in the steamer. Steaming veg worked well. I’m still struggling with mash potato but I think it might be my tastes for less creamed results. Not convinced on cakes yet but I’ve only tried one. Bechemal sauce is amazing, throw in the ingredients, couple of button presses and a silky smooth sauce. All in all I’m really happy with my purchase, the recipe book that comes with it is a bit too French influenced for me and not particularly vegetarian friendly but I feel I’ll be able to adapt any recipe pretty easily. The Magimix app has potential as it’s very slick and easy to use. I hope they keep updating it and allowing community members to add recipes. The rinse function makes it very easy to clean, which is good as I’m using multiple times a day atm.

Easy to use, relatively compact and polyvalent. I cook a lot, and bought it mostly for the ease to control temperature, or all different modes of cooking...However, the bowl tend to attach if you do creams, or stews or sautes... I was expecting something very smooth to clean, and certainly not attaching at the bottom. The cleaning is then not that easy. The motor is super efficient, but struggles for elements such as brioche or bread. If you want to do something as simple as cooking rice...you need to purchase an additional bowl ad most container will not fit...this is a bit of a bummer for something so simple as rice. It is a good product, and I believe if you don't have time to cook, or doesn't know what to do, this a good product...however if you have a bit of ... MoreEasy to use, relatively compact and polyvalent. I love cooking, but I also work long hours, so keeping a healthy diet was getting more and more difficult. The Magimix Cook Expert really is a kitchen assistant. It makes cooking lovely meals easier (and tastier because all flavours stay in) which, in turn, improves my daily life. I've just had an issue with the blade, and they promptly responded and got it sorted. Now I am learning new recipes and how to adapt the "old" ones to my Magimix Cook Expert. There are some nice videos on Youtube and the book that came with the machine is very useful and, so far, the recipis work. Happy customer here ;)

I was lucky to try the CE at the Lincolnshire cookery school on the day course as I was having trouble seeing how it would fit into how I cook. Mainly I cook for two and my partner can't eat gluten so im careful to keep things seperate and also try to cook without mainly or u end up cooking everything in doubles. We have alot of curries, stews, chilli etc so I do alot of cooking on the cooker top rather than oven. I was concerned it would just be an expensive steamer or slow cooker. I also have struggled with the gluten free cooking, converting my home recipes and various flour substitutes and I didnt want to have to relearn alot just to cook in a big pot. I also have struggled with the gluten free cooking, converting my home recipes and various flour substitutes and I didnt want to have to relearn alot just to cook in a big pot. I also dont have much space in my kitchen and realised that the small and very new magimix food processor I had would have to go as space is a premium and I also wasnt using it as much as I thought I would. I was sceptical and genuinely 50/50 about spending out on the CE. This is what drew me to the course so I coukd decide with more practical info as I had also been researching the thermomix. Happily going on the course was a bit of a revelation....the superquick jam we made in 30mins and then soup, bread dough, pastry, food processor change being v easy and the ease of operation and the course tutors explainations of the heated element, efficiency and safety features really twiddledmy misgivings away. I have adhd so can get easily distracted with timings and forget that pans are hot etc. i felt very reassured on that and the fact it counts down makes you feel very in control. I wanted to be reassured I could cook curries, curry bases, stirfry onions for other dishes and walk away without worrying or ruining the food and make those tricky sauces ie hollandaise, béchamel, and then be more spontaneous without worrying about splitting and wasting expensive food. I ordered it and 'Dolores' came swiftly practically the next day and has fitted in marvellously. Soups are v easy and taste of the veg and I am standing much less at the stove so I can get other jobs done as I have a stamina issue with my health. It ticks many boxes. I have reproduced the recipes we were shown, bread is easy to prep and easy to prove in D. I have made scottish tablet (fudge) and it was easy and very safe when I had to beat the hot mix at the end. The control is fab, you feel u can tackle more difficult things but even mash and boiled eggs are fun to do and serve piping hot a real kitchen helper thanku magimix
I got the cook expert as I was frustrated by having to replace blenders earlier than expected and went down a rabbit hole on multifunctional appliances given that my kitchen is small. I was impressed by the very long warranty on this, and the good reviews also was interested in the other cooking functions.I would say it is good but not excellent at blending (still leaves around two frozen berries at bottom of bowl when i do smoothies) also a bit fiddly to clean. But it's a fun machine to have. It is an adventure to learn all the different functions. Impressed by its ability to perfectly knead bread. Also it made a nice flavoursome curry.I am yet to have trouble with the universal blade shredding food more than desired. Love the product. Much better than a thermomix or any other thermocooker I've tried.Appalling service from Myer. Whole experience was so stressful that I've decided to never buy a big appliance from Myer as this was a sharp contrast to very good experiences with David Jones. I wanted the red model as this matte silver is one I actively dislike. Having checked the website that there was no stock of any colour in WA, I checked the website that it could be posted to me. I then got a discount Myer voucher as I'd been saving for ages to get this and it was tight for my budget. I then got a discount Myer voucher as I'd been saving for ages to get this and it was tight for my budget. Unfortunately when I tried to purchase any Magimix Cook Expert colour suddenly there was no stock for postage. The website was actively displaying incorrect information on the product page and the correct information only when you tried to finish checking out. Unfortunately I'd stuffed myself by getting the discounted Myer voucher. So I went to the Myer store in Perth, no stock and wouldn't get it in even though I was prepared to pay now and wait months. Called every Myer in Perth. Only two answered the phone. Garden City which had one machine left in the colour I hated (and couldn't get any more of any colour in), and Galleria, which had no magimix stock and told me to call Karrinup. I called Karrinup 5 times throughout the day and never got an answer. It just rang out every time. Garden City staff were OK. However, I find that centre hard to navigate so declined to collect it from the loading dock as I didn't think I'd be able to find it. Really both the centre and car park are mazes. So I carried the box the max 800m to my car. A very bad call. I strained both my hip and shoulder and gave myself an asthma attack. The machine and its many parts are very sturdy and, in the box, very heavy. Use a trolley or collect from the loading dock!As for the machine, I found that watching Magimix Australia's cook along YouTube series was an accurate reflection of the machine.
So far I am loving it! I’ve cooked porridge for breakfast a few times, two soups, a couple of cakes as well as a sweet and a savoury pie crust. The recipe book is great, and I’m enjoying the quality of the product. It is not as noisy as I anticipated and is quite easy to clean. The only (slight) con is that I have to stop the program and scrape the sides quite a few times if I am making a larger batch of something, which is a little tedious. Still, I’m no worse off in this regard compared to the stand mixer I was using before. I also love the generously sized stainless steel bowl!
Just short of magicHave had 2 weeks now - definitely time saving the auto clean feature helps too.Have just purchased XL steamer basket and juicer accessories. Watched several YouTube videos for inspo.Still learning the functions and settings creamed soup function is great, rice fluffs superbly.I took off 1 star as it is expensive in comparison to other brands and then you start adding on additional accessories however the magimix cook expert can do so many things. Would love the juicing attachment however like most of its accessories it seems expensive.
Like many others have said, I too watched the demonstrations of this product for many years. I decided to purchase when the deal with the cocotte came about. I looked at what it can do and then thought long and hard as to whether it is really easier than just doing it yourself......Cutting and stirring. I love the art of cooking and also wondered whether this machine that did everything, would take that away somehow.I have all the other big brand kitchen items as well, which i think i will now just keep to pass on to my daughters. Does it replace them all?......YES absolutely!!Initially i did find myself just standing there and looking through the glass lid, as i would normally be stirring and fixed to the cooktop. But now....i wonder why on earth i didnt get it ... MoreLike many others have said, I too watched the demonstrations of this product for many years. But now....i wonder why on earth i didnt get it years ago and dont think i could now live without it. I have had the MCE for about 4 months now and still learning and trying new things, which is fun. Havent used the food processor a lot yet but the cocotte is brilliant. Tossed out the slow cooker. I LOVE watching Vanessa's cook alongs, but if there was anything to wish was better ....it is the APP ...it is not great. A minor thing that doesnt detract from the amazing machine it is. Their customer service is amazing as well. Buy it.....you wont look back!
Cook expert (the bit that chooks/ mixes and heats) constantly has food on the sides that you have to scraper back down so it chips/ mixes properly. The lid gets food all over it if you use the faster mixing speeds and will spill all over if you are not careful when you open it. It's advertised that it can replace many Kitchen appliances, it can make smoothies, if making smoothies In a large heavy cooking pot with a blade on the bottom is something that you would do, I just use my mini blender myself though. The food processor is good but if you use the smaller one it has no lid and as it is used nested in the larger bowls it spills food over into them, people online tell me their 'hack' about using cling wrap as a cover to stop the food spilling over into the other ... MoreCook expert (the bit that chooks/ mixes and heats) constantly has food on the sides that you have to scraper back down so it chips/ mixes properly. I just think the $2000 appliance should be designed so it doesn't!. The soup function is good, but it's a pretty expensive soup maker, maybe think about a stick blender instead and a simple but quality food processor for the bench. It's self wash function is useful for getting the worst muck off. Ive had it 6 months, I cook home made food a lot, I use the Magimix about once a week. Im very busy and thought it would help. I look at the online support groups (fan club) and they recommend I watch hrs of you tube videos to learn how to use it better and eventually I would learn (did I mention being busy and needing to save time?)
