I am always on the lookout for a great makeup primer. I sweat like crazy and nothing seems to hold my makeup in place. I also have large pores and dry spots and some primers exaggerate this and make it look just plain awful. When I ordered my latest Sephora Favorites set, included was a travel size of the Make Up Forever's Hydra Booster Step 1 Primer. It's an orange-ish looking primer that has a slight citrus scent to it. Wow did it work great! My makeup looked fantastic after using this product, absolutely flawless! I mean amazing! This is an excellent product that I can definitely see myself switching to in my everyday routine and absolutely recommend trying out for yourself!

Better than Hourglass

Beyond thrilled with this purchase. As someone who is prone to little whiteheads, I tend to stick to whatever doesn’t cause them. So I’d been using hourglass mineral veil for years and was afraid to switch. My skin had been a little dry lately so I figured if other MUF products never caused breakouts, why not try their primer. WOW, I’m glad I switched. Not only is it moisturizing, it still behaves exactly as a primer should without being greasy due to the moisture content. It does have a slight fragrance which my skin would normally get angry/red from but not this one! My makeup wears longer than it did with hourglass and it feels much better, and my makeup goes on better! The consistency of this product is thicker than your average primer but still easy to apply, and dries down quickly without feeling sticky. After application the only visible difference this product gave was a slight glow and blurring effect on the skin but it did not last long. It also did not seem to hydrate the skin. My new favorite primer!! 5 stars!!

I absolutely love this primer! It feels so nice on the skin. It hydrates, evens out skin tone, and smooths the skin texture which makes a great multipurpose primer. I normally use two primers, one to hydrate and one to smooth texture and with this one I can get the benefits of both with only one product which is really nice. Most smoothing primers don’t hydrate and vise versa. It definitely holds my makeup in place all day. It also gave my skin brightness and radiance which is an added bonus. I love this formula and texture. It is very different than most primers in such a good way. I would definitely recommend this product for any skin type! New fave

Tried a sample of this and immediately ordered the full-size product. now I can’t imagine going without it! I‘be been using it for a few weeks not and absolutely loving it. My skin is super sensitive and tends to be dry (especially with makeup), but this product helps lock in all that extra moisture and makes the biggest difference.I’ve had so many compliments that my skin looks healthier and plumper when I use this primer. Definitely keeping this on-hand at all times!

Oily

I’m not sure about this, this is suppose to be hydrating but my skin ends up being oily after a few hours. This applies matte and smooth but face started feeling tacky after a while and skin started to shine after a few hours. I’ve dry combi skin and my skin always stays dry throughout the day but with this primer, it was shiny and oily. My facial blotters are always dry, no oil at all but today the blotters are filled with oil after a few hours with this primer. I guess it’s a no for me and I really hate the overpowering fragrance in this product.

Pleasant surprise

Okay, i honestly didn’t have high expectations for this product but i was pleasantly surprised at how much i liked this! So i have combo skin but it’s been really dry because it’s winter and now with wearing a mask i feel like my makeup has no chance of looking good but i decided to risk it all this new year’s eve and try this product out and i’m so glad i did! Okay for the color correction i would pass on this.. i really don’t see that big of a difference but for staying power i really liked this. I also have a problem with primers balling up when i put my foundation on or even my concealer but i did not have that problem at all! I felt like my skin looked smoother as well. Smooth foundation even in dry weather

Currently in a very dry climate, I was excited to try a hydrating primer, as everything else I've tried has made my foundation dry and cake worse. I tried Hydra Booster under Maybelline's Dream Urban Cover, a lightweight foundation + spf, with the primer first applied to one side of my face (using fingertips for both). While the red coverage was slightly better on the side with no primer, it also appears patchier and with a satin-matte finish. The side with the primer was considerably smoother, though the coverage was lighter, and had a dewier finish (which i prefer). This may effect the performance of the primer, especially as my usual foundation is from the same brand. I will definitely be trying them together when I have it again, and will most likely repurchase!

Strong smell

This is rlly good honestly I’ve struggled finding primers. It stays on a long time and my make up looks smooth. I only wish that it didn’t have a a strong fragrance bc I rlly have sensitive skin and those kind of things irritates my skin easily. Wish I can use it. If you have oily skin I do not recommend though. My forehead got rlly oily.
