It says 9 AH. But its not anything like that. Goes flat very quickly. I have cycled it many times and it is no better. I will never buy clone batteries again.

Tested with a cordless fan against genuine 6ah batteries. These 9ah (apparently) batteries lasted about 3/4 of the time my genuine 6ah batteries lasted, exactly the same result across 8 tests. Then one of the battery indicator lights stopped working after about two weeks. No response from the supplier via email or the website, despite a quick response when I enquired about the one year warranty before purchasing.Sure, the batteries are cheap. But unless I received two faulty batteries, they're about a 4.2ah battery in an overly large 9ah case.

Excellent quality, run time, and ruggedness. Attaches/detaches quickly and easily from tools and charger, and charges fast. The remaining charge indicator on the back, and the built-in electrical protection against failure are nice features. T For those who don't already know, note that they are no more "powerful" than the 3 or 2 amp batteries, they just last longer on a charge. Also, they are the same physical size and approximate weight as the 3 and 5 amp batteries. Only the 2 amp battery is notably thinner and lighter (but they last surprisingly long in many tools). If given the choice, I would simply buy the 2 amp batteries for smaller projects, and 5 amp batteries for higher demand projects. But you can't really go wrong with any of them.

Good Product
28 June 2024

I purchased two batteries, one fire Makita power tools and one for a Dyson vacuum.Early days to be able to say they are great products. What I will say is they arrived in good time and communication was excellent. There is a problem with the Dyson battery though, as it is a larger battery it won’t fit into the charging port, which is bit annoying. So, I have had to remove the cable from mounting port to charge this battery.Maybe this should be communicated to the buyer prior to buying product. Thanks

I bought these to use as a back up for a new battery powered chop saw, along with be my primary batteries for my little used 6 circular saw. Turns out they didnt for the latter. The saw didnt have the star emblem under the base, so these didnt fit........or did they? Upon some internet searching, checking them in other tools, and comparing them to batteries that fit, the reason they didnt fit was an extra tab on the battery that prohibited their full insertion into non star tools. Lets just say removing that tab was easy as pie and now they work where I wanted them to work. I also am sure I voided their warranty. The reason for the tab it to keep them from being used in tools that will discharge them too quickly, causing them to get hot (when used for extended ... MoreI bought these to use as a back up for a new battery powered chop saw, along with be my primary batteries for my little used 6 circular saw. Still a great deal, and Id do it again if I needed batteries. They are exactly what they were meant to be. Dont take my misuse as a promotional for doing the same......wink.

I moved to Makita Cordless Professional tools about 3 years ago and at the same time purchased 3 X 3Ah batteries and they have been used constantly with no issues. One of them the other day would no longer charge, time for a new battery, so looked through Home Essentials Direct to discover a 4Ah battery was available but there was an issue, ( possibly ), with the 4Ah not fitting some Makita tools but went ahead and purchased one, direct from Home Essentials Direct, received yesterday 2/3/2016. If I understood the problem correctly the Home Essentials Direct solution as suggested by other users was to alter the battery or charger but if your existing battery had a YELLOW connector the 4Ah battery would fit the power tool and the charger. THIS IS NOT THE CASE, it will fit the charger but not the slightly older power tools. Fortunately the solution is relatively simple. ONE SIDE ONLY of the 4Ah battery moulding is slightly different to the 3Ah one and needs a little bit of plastic trimmed. In my case I used my trusty Dremel to do the job, it might be possible to achieve the same result using a very sharp utility blade and/or a hot one. I have uploaded three stock photos, the 1st is the 3Ah battery, the 2nd is the 4Ah one, look carefully and you will see the slight difference in the battery mouldings and the 3rd is still the 4Ah with a red line showing where I cut and removed a 3mm sliver of plastic. Voila!, 4Ah battery fits my Makita cordless tools and works just fine.

Worthless for any type of heavy use.

Purchased two 18 volt of these knock off batteries. They were rated 5.0Ah but lasted 20 minutes between charges. I knew there was something off when they recharged in 10. minutes. These were to replace two older 3 Ah batteries. The older smaller batteries run longer than these new batteries. If your plan is light duty homeowner used these will probably work for you. Use in contracting these are worthless. Save your money buy only authentic Makita.

Not a 5ah battery, there are not enough cells in the casing, it is very light compared to my 4ah generic batteries that I usually get or my 3ah originals. power charge does not last anywhere as long as any of my older batteries. I ran it down with just 3 cuts of 2 meters on 16mm chipboard using a brushless makita circular saw with a two week old high quality blade. Very disappointed.
