Like it or not original Makita batteries are expensive, bought these to replace my 3.0Ah which has finally died after 8 years, and there you have the reason why the originals cost so much, they last! Using these with my LXT Brushless Multitool and gotta say the extra power makes a difference gives me an additional 2 hours use for 10 minutes of extra charging time!Bought from Toolden who are a great company to get your power tools and accessories from, my only gripe would be that they came loose in a box rather than packaged up.Toolden, if you want to up your game, send the loose batteries with a āfreeā Makita battery cover! That would have impressed the hell outta me and would really differentiate you from your competition as at the moment the only batteries I've ...Ā MoreLike it or not original Makita batteries are expensive, bought these to replace my 3.0Ah which has finally died after 8 years, and there you have the reason why the originals cost so much, they last! I have had Makita Li Ion 18V drills for longer than I care to remember, and have a drill, driver, angle head drill, and an impact driver. Only ever had the 2 batteries that came with the twin drill set, also from Fastfix, many years ago. This year, whilst doing some more work in the garden, one of the batteries gave up, wouldn't charge, and despite putting it back on the charger several times, it had gone. I had a look around, and thought that I would go for the 4amps, as the previous ones were 3amps. I can not warrant the cost of the 5 and 6amps , and figured that if the 4amps are as good as the 3, then I would be ok.Price wise,FFX were in the right ballpark, not the cheapest, but I have used them many times before, and never had an issue. Sure enough, the items arrived within a day, well boxed with packing around the batteries. Not really much to say about the batteries, they have a small plastic cover over the contacts. I charged them up, and they have not needed a recharge since. If the last the amount of time the last set did, then it's money well spent. For reference, I am just a DIY er, so would only use the batteries flat out over maybe one weekend a month. Great service as always, which pushed me to write the review.

It says 9 AH. But its not anything like that. Goes flat very quickly. I have cycled it many times and it is no better. I will never buy clone batteries again.

Excellent quality, run time, and ruggedness. Attaches/detaches quickly and easily from tools and charger, and charges fast. The remaining charge indicator on the back, and the built-in electrical protection against failure are nice features. T For those who don't already know, note that they are no more "powerful" than the 3 or 2 amp batteries, they just last longer on a charge. Also, they are the same physical size and approximate weight as the 3 and 5 amp batteries. Only the 2 amp battery is notably thinner and lighter (but they last surprisingly long in many tools). If given the choice, I would simply buy the 2 amp batteries for smaller projects, and 5 amp batteries for higher demand projects. But you can't really go wrong with any of them.
I bought these to use as a back up for a new battery powered chop saw, along with be my primary batteries for my little used 6 circular saw. Turns out they didnt for the latter. The saw didnt have the star emblem under the base, so these didnt fit........or did they? Upon some internet searching, checking them in other tools, and comparing them to batteries that fit, the reason they didnt fit was an extra tab on the battery that prohibited their full insertion into non star tools. Lets just say removing that tab was easy as pie and now they work where I wanted them to work. I also am sure I voided their warranty. The reason for the tab it to keep them from being used in tools that will discharge them too quickly, causing them to get hot (when used for extended ...Ā MoreI bought these to use as a back up for a new battery powered chop saw, along with be my primary batteries for my little used 6 circular saw. The reason for the tab it to keep them from being used in tools that will discharge them too quickly, causing them to get hot (when used for extended times, not my usage) and therefore damaging the longevity of the batteries. Still a great deal, and Id do it again if I needed batteries. They are exactly what they were meant to be. Dont take my misuse as a promotional for doing the same......wink.
I moved to Makita Cordless Professional tools about 3 years ago and at the same time purchased 3 X 3Ah batteries and they have been used constantly with no issues. One of them the other day would no longer charge, time for a new battery, so looked through Home Essentials Direct to discover a 4Ah battery was available but there was an issue, ( possibly ), with the 4Ah not fitting some Makita tools but went ahead and purchased one, direct from Home Essentials Direct, received yesterday 2/3/2016. If I understood the problem correctly the Home Essentials Direct solution as suggested by other users was to alter the battery or charger but if your existing battery had a YELLOW connector the 4Ah battery would fit the power tool and the charger. If I understood the problem correctly the Home Essentials Direct solution as suggested by other users was to alter the battery or charger but if your existing battery had a YELLOW connector the 4Ah battery would fit the power tool and the charger. THIS IS NOT THE CASE, it will fit the charger but not the slightly older power tools. Fortunately the solution is relatively simple. ONE SIDE ONLY of the 4Ah battery moulding is slightly different to the 3Ah one and needs a little bit of plastic trimmed. In my case I used my trusty Dremel to do the job, it might be possible to achieve the same result using a very sharp utility blade and/or a hot one. I have uploaded three stock photos, the 1st is the 3Ah battery, the 2nd is the 4Ah one, look carefully and you will see the slight difference in the battery mouldings and the 3rd is still the 4Ah with a red line showing where I cut and removed a 3mm sliver of plastic. Voila!, 4Ah battery fits my Makita cordless tools and works just fine.
Very good the only thing would have been improved it is the packaging was inadequate on this occasion. Luckily everything was ok however it really wasn't packaged correctly and this is the first time this has happened I've ordered many times from you and everything has been good before. I remain a loyal customer.
As these are the branded batteries they can only be as good as they are. It's not like I can go to another brand and engage there's on the tools. In saying that, the other 5Ah batteries I have performed well, and I favour the system overall. This recent purchase was to 'add' resource, not to replace.
Brush cutter uses two batteries simultaneously and they are very powerful and last a long time and seem to charge up fairly quickly. Only wish I didn't have to keep an eye on the charger to turn it off as soon as it is charged. Apparently it's not good for the batteries to leave them charging.
This company are fast and efficient with your order so for me they deserve 5 stars however returning items is the downfall I had a faulty Makita battery and wanted it repaired or swapped out but the only option they gave me was to contact Makita and return it to them which now involves a lot of messing aboutSo for me. 3 star rating is a true
