Purchased this as I wanted something more manageable than the Ryobi 36V Line Trimmer. This thing is just brilliant. Although it’s 18V it’s powerful. Very happy with this. Might be time to fully switch to Makita

I bought this whipper snipper after letting my backyard get quite frankly monstrous, there were tigers hunting in the jungle that had grown back there I swear, grass up to my shoulders. This beauty tore through it amazingly, admittedly needing a recharge three times but with a 5aH or 6aH battery that'd be cut down by a ton.Replace the string it comes with, heavy string will save you a heap of grief, but the tool itself is outstanding. Even if you've got some gnarly yardwork to do this'll go just fine!

Don’t waste your time with 2 stroke snippers anymore, your only regret is you didn’t swap to electric sooner. This thing is just as powerful, and does the whole back and front yard on one battery without having to mix oils, press bulbs, change spark plugs, wear earmuffs or any other outdated petrol things. You’re living in the future now. Start acting like it.

Bought this today with mixed opinions, we all know battery isn't as powerful as fuel, well I'm glad I listened to the reviews here. Weight is similar to a petrol line trimmer i held my busted petrol and new electric in each hand and hardly any difference, feels abit plastic like but its solid.. pro's, No more pull cord, no more oil, fuel, mixer bottles, broken primer bulbs, fumes, smoke, flooding, etc.. I've only given it a little go but it charged quickly and as I gave it's little test area of a medium length grass that still needs to be mowed it was quickly cutting through it. I will say this, 2 mm cord seems a bit thin and burns put easily, I may see if I can wing it with some thicker cord. Other then that, do not hesitate to buy this. I bought this for my daughter hoping it was a simple to use, no fuss machine. So far, so good. Both her and her housemate have a great tool to get the job done. Easy to use. No fuel. Nothing to worry about except keeping the battery charged. Battery lasts for ages. Happy with my purchase.
Could not be happier with this product, works great. battery lasts forever. Top quality. So happy I did my research when choosing and have not been disappointed in this Makita. So easy to use, no starting issues, quiet and can see it being capable for anyones domestic usage.
Light weight, great battery life. I have done my front and back fencelines and edges twice, and the battery still shows 3/4 charge. The line dispensing is a little hit and miss....it sometimes lets more out than it needs to when tapped.Otherwise, a great machine.

I've used a Makita cordless drill for as long as i can remember and after moving interstate recently i sold my 4 stroke petrol lawn mower, taking the plunge on a new Makita electric lawn mower when we arrived at our new home. Very pleased. Was dubious sbout buying one. Rated well on canstar. Lightweight cuts effectively, not too noisy, battery lasts 20 mins or so and quick to recharge. Go through string pretty fast, buy extra with the unit. Wear long pants!
I’ve only ever had petrol trimmers which are a pain in the behind for me mucking around mixing oil and petrol and then yanking on that cord like my life depends on it. So once my petrol trimmer kicked the bucket, I decided to give a battery operated one a go and after lots of research, I settled on this Makita. It is amazing!! I have horrible couch grass in my front and back yard and this cuts it with ease. So far I’ve used it 4 times and the battery still hasn’t lost any charge and the line has only shortened marginally. It is light and easy for a woman (me), quiet and did I mention it’s amazing?! I love it!!!
