I have been using this table saw for 2 yrs now and is great for work and home , motor is plenty powerful , the fence was bit out but adjusting the 2 toggles tightened straight away . I took the safety guard off straight away cuts large sheets of ply with ease if you use a roller table at back ( dont recommend for beginners ) . For the price of a quality saw makita are up there .

Good table saw. I reviewed it online before purchase which listed some faults such as the fence is a little short and has some play in it. Also the mitre slide is a little loose. These faults exist but are generally not a big issue. It would be better if the guard could be removed easily so it can be used with a sled but overall a very good saw.

I am using this saw for joinery, mainly cutting soft woods up to 2inches thick and small MDF sheets up to 1 inch thick. (That's about 50mm & 25mm ). It is perfect for this but also has the capability to cut hardwoods and larger profiles. I have also used it to cut rebates and angles and find the fine adjustments easy to use and effective. It is far better than the saw it replaced. When I received the saw the quality was better than I expected and now I'm using it I recommend it. I think it would be hard to find a better general purpose workshop saw for the money.

Straight out of the box it is an ok table saw. Not great but ok. Pros: 1) Very big and sturdy unit. 2) Heavy that it wont move around 3) Motor is great and plenty of power Large cutting area compared to most contract table saws in this price range. Cons: 1) Fence moves a bit when rippinh and is not straight 2) mitre gauge has side play 3) sliding table has slight play in it.All cons are fixable if you want precision cuts. Ive had my table saw for 1 month and have made a cross cut sled for mitres and rebuilt the fence (plenty of videos on youtube for this model). If you can fix the cons or are not overly worried about precision cutting then yes get this saw. Im only a beginner woodworker so dont think you need to be an expert to fix these things. In this price range your not going to get the best saw but with a bit of patience you can turn it into one (upgrades took me about 2-3 weeks of trial and error). Hope this helps
I was well pleased with this saw when it arrived. It is sturdy, powerful and adjustment is very accurate. Only small gripe is that the plastic insert around the blade is rather flimsy and fragile. Other than that a very good tool, an asset to any workshop
A good DIY saw but not for the trades.Blade guards are a nuisance and once removed the riving knife must be cut down to allow wood to pass. As per other saws it needs a new zero tolerance insert. I made it out of 4mm ply which fits well. The fence is too short and flimsy and I copied one I saw from a kiwi on Youtube. The sliding tray is sloppy. I used a strip of plastic from a cut down bucket to pack out the groove on the rhs.The dust exhaust is great, the motor brake excellent.Retail as bare saw $680 elsewhere.
Although I am totally pleased with the saw the base was damaged. One of the corners had been snapped off presumably in transit. The damage did not affect the working of the saw which is wonderful. Just a shame the product was just slightly damaged
bought this saw about a month ago - great for ripping and cutting stock with the sliding table and miter guage really useful. Lots of power and solid build. However, if you want to do anything involving partial cuts such as lap joints, tenons or other operations that require a riving knife in line with the top of the blade, don't consider this saw. The riving knife holds the blade guard and so sits well above the top of the blade. There is no alternative and the knife cannot be lowered so any cabinet making operations are not possible
Just set this up today, it was a doddle to do, all the bit were there and easy to fit. Tried it out, the first time you start it up it nearly gives you a heart attack, sounds like a big gun going off!!, however, what a good bit of kit it is, powerful, solid and accurate, just the job for a keen D.I.Y. er or for that matter, a professional wanting a good job done. I have bought lesser & cheaper saw tables in the past and replaced them after a few months because of the machine/parts, breaking down. Glad I've invested in a good reliable machine, which I hope will last for years
Upon receiving the Unit, my team swiftly set up the unit and only then discovered that it was the 240v DIY version. Working in a factory this needed to be a 110V version. when asking to exchange it or return it 4 hours after picking it up, we were told without the packaging that we couldn't return the goods. (Sadly, my team disposed of the packaging before I was made aware of the issue.)I understand the reasoning but disappointed that no compromise could be had.It was disappointing, and now we have a unit that can't be used in the factory owing to HSE Regulations.
