This saw is not only good looking but also very well designed. The quick stops for miter angles are a great feature when having to repeat cuts while switching from a plumb cut to an angled cut. The light works well in every condition and the blade sight window is the perfect size. Very powerful saw that hasn't bogged down for me even when cutting thru the wettest treated stock. Factory blade is ok but that doesn't make the saw. I recommend this saw and look forward to enjoying the performance for many years.

Heavy and durable. Nice case too, LED light is nifty addition. Magnesium base glides easily over stock. Blows sawdust easily to the back so you can see what you are cutting easily. Comes with 24 tooth blade, grab a finish blade and this is a great all around saw. Just wish fence was a little longer.

I am a professional carpenter and this saw has yet to let me down. Very powerful, has no problem running through the toughest materials such as LVL's or heavy timbers. The large handles on the guard, depth adjustment, and miter gauge make all operation and adjustment easy and quick. The blade the saw comes with is ok, but the factory blade isn't what makes the saw. The led light works surprisingly well and the blade sight window is nice and large. The storage case and rip guide are nice additional features that compliment this saw. I look forward to the many years of service this saw will provide.

I have been a framing contractor since 1996 this is my 3rd of this model, and currently have 5 Makita's in use. I have used other brands over the years but none last nearly as long as Makita. They only get tossed when they are dropped too many times and are beyond repair. Light weight, ease of use, grip angle, power, and longevity all A+.
I have purchased the model without the brake as well...not much of a difference. This saw is light weight but heavy duty; with a good blade it cuts like a dream; the raised sides on the shoe allows for easier aided (clamped battens) large-panel cutting, and positive stops for bevel cuts are some of the benefits this saw has to offer.In addition, the inclusion of the rip fence is convenient and efficient for multiple rip cuts.
Makita is a great saw to start with. This is there best. The brake is a must, you don't need the blade turning, while your not paying attention. It has quick stops for angles. The light is great. Can't go wrong with this saw.Comes with a fence and a case. And a special Thanks to CPO. I recommend them to everyone!
Hi all. I purchased this when it was on Sale. Today was the first time I used it. This is a Beast. Compared to my old Makita 6 1/2" saw that's about 30 years old. The LED lights stay on while plugged in. This is the first one I ever used that had a Brake. Stopped the blade Fast. Mine arrived ready to use. The Blade was square to the Guides.
The saw is comfortable, pretty light, powerful, and well balanced. The guard rises freely and wont interfere with a smooth cut even at 55 degrees bevel. The depth and bevel gauges are clear and easy to see. The front of the shoe has a clear guide to follow your chalk line. The saw rides against my speed square nicely and give a quick square cut on studs. The headlights and wonderful for my aging eyes. Its a great saw and I would put it against any other make or model.
The saw is very easy to use. The channel in front keeps your line clear of sawdust. The light is not very bright...but don't cut in the dark. The adjustments are easy to make. The shoe is very smooth. Overall a good saw. I wish the cord was longer.
This saw does everything well. When we are talking about the best circular saw today, it is in the discussion. Stable, strong, reliable, and with a saw brake to boot. It doesn't get much better than this.
