Great basic saw. The 55 degree bevel is great for plus 45 cuts and hip and valley rafter cuts. New bevel, blade depth and blade wrench are a great addition to this saw that goes forever. Too bad no blade light though ???????

I have had a couple of these saws for about 6 years and they have always proved to be a great purchase. I have dropped them and just absolutely abused them over the years and still cut nice and square and with plenty of power. Having said that this saw is far from the lightest saw but aside from that I wouldn't trade it for a different one. I will be buying a couple more because it is a discounted model and I am still very happy with it years later.

I like the way this saw fits in my hand and the ability to see the line for cutting. I have used a couple different makes of power saw and NONE compares to this one for me.
bought this saw to replace a 20-year old war horse that was beyond repair. Like the saw but wish I had purchased the model with the LED lighting so that my 77-year old eyes could see what their owner is doing with the line he had drawn earlier... Otherwise the saw is very nice, powerful and cuts quickly, and will be someone's inheritance someday...
Nice solid aluminium base plate. Lots of power. The only weak point is the guide which is weak and flimsy - the same as on the cheaper DIY model.
Makita is hands down the best,durable circular saw on the market.I strongly recommend it especially when you find it on sale.
I have never owned a circular saw that cuts as consistently and smoothly.
Cuts really well - very powerful saw. It is heavy if you’re used to budget plastic models but I would recommend it if you want a bit more. Most power you’ll get for anywhere near this price.
The base is excellent, solid with zero play allowing and glides smooth for precision cuts compared to the common steel base on cheaper saws.The Makita 2 year warranty is always dissapointing but hopefully I won't need to use it, powerful and solid machine.
