The balance is perfect power to cut as much oak you can feed it. Convenient light. Easy blade change. If you do finish work. The is an absolute must.

This is the best jig saw I have ever used. I was sceptical about the grip at first, but after using it, I love it. Having no cord to fight with is a game changer. Using the 5ah battery is a must with this saw. Great performance I am absolutely satisfied with my purchase.
Already have an old makita d handled jigsaw that won't break but being an older design without the yellow star it's a bit hard on batterys. Thought I'd try this barrel grip type and I quit like it there's no trigger so it takes a little practice but works great in aukward positions and even upside down. A push fit for the blade and large trigger to eject simple and fast .love it.its makita.
Makita jig saw is great. Compacted and Great feel to grip. It is just a light long, because of the battery placement. So no tight scrolling in small palaces. Lights up good. Blower system keeps the dust away good enough to see your lines. A improvement that could have been better is the blade release, its plastic. Hopefully it holds up. Only other concern I had was it was shipped in orginal box. And there was no padding to protect the saw while being shipped. It was NOT damaged. All is GOOD
Great Makita quality as standard. Great soft start function and variable speed. Cuts straight and true. You get what you pay for, cheap aint good and good ain't cheap
This is a brilliant jigsaw compared to others that I've used, it's so easy to do straight cuts compared to other models with handles that are far to far away from the work-piece to control properly. It's well balanced and the start/stop button makes life so much easier whether you're having to do a cut directly towards yourself or an awkward cut on the vertical it really is a quality machine that has obviously had considerable new thinking behind its design.
Easy to use and has some very good features. Liked the no 'allen key' method of changing the blades. It saves time and is much easier to do. Found the on/off switch to be very good in that is turns the machine off if it is not continually used. This saves on battery life. The jig saw is large but is well balance which makes it easy to manoeuvre.
i have not used yet but MAKITA tools are normally well made. I was surprised that they did not include a couple of blades to get you sTARTED with as it was not cheap, but I think it will be a good tool
