Makita DLS600Z 18V Brushless 165mm (6-1/2") Compact Mitre Saw

Good saw for small sized timber,but I purchased solely for cutting metal tile trim. It is excellent for this giving neat accurate mitres. When I did cut some 3x2, I was pretty surprised as the motor did not struggle in the slightest. Built in worklight is good and laser guide helps too. Lightweight, and very portable for working inside small bathrooms where most of my work is.Value? I find battery tools grossly overpriced for what they are ,but this does the job so well,it was money well spent and Toolstop was vastly cheaper than other competitors.If there are superior brands to Makita available, I can't see how they could improve on this. It just does the job it's made for, well!

Handy for small stuff. I work on boats and space inside is limited and always moving around, this tool is light and compact and perfect for it. Plenty of power, seems to last well on the batteries and has all the specifications you would need for angles and bevel cuts. Pricey for its size, for not much more you can get bigger saws but this just goes in the boot of a car, sits on top of a makpac type box, goes up a ladder or around the job without any hassle or need to clear a space. Very happy, colleagues after one try are already going to get one.

This has replaced a petrol Stihl which was only used a couple of times before it stopped working.The makita is powerful quiet much easier to use and does not require any maintenance

its light and very good to use and very well made great saw but only for small cuts beads small framing etc so expensive for what it is but a great bit of kit

Saw is fantastic but far too expensive at 500 it will cut a 4x2 timber and is really powerful. Its fitted with a 64 tooth blade so it will give you a brilliant cut. Its so light its ridiculous you can take anywhere. Just wish Makita would be sensible on there prices sometimes. Laser light is ready a waste of time but has a very good led light.

Great little saw for small jobs like panel mould or 2×1 cuts. Would be improved with a slightly deeper cutting range though. Otherwise perfect

high quality little mitre saw

Expensive for what it is and has a very limited cut capacity. Wins on portability and size. it's so quick and easy to take from room to room with you, it's easy to use and produces a very fine cut with the supplied blade. Lasts a good while on one 18v 5 amp battery and the dust bag helps collect a surprising amount of the sawdust produced. If your fed up with carrying round a masive heavy mitre saw and trying to fit it into the van somewhere.. and you do a lot of smaller skirting/architrave and 3" x 2" cls studwork this saw is champion.
