A skill saw with extra punch. What a fantastic piece of kit. Cutting joists and rafters easily. A little heavy but you don't get this sort of power without any payoff. Over all brilliant

Im a cabinet maker - mostly bespoke bedrooms., kitchens and professional high quality existing kitchen makeovers and renovations - Especially when fitting worktop - to fit kitchen sink and hob - many used to draw line for required hole - drill hole in 4 corners then jigsaw out the cut out - but I prefer a circular saw to drop blade down into worktop - and cut the 4 sides - and just finish by jigsaw the 4 corners - Leaves very tidy job - and great having no cables or plug in required- plenty of power even cutting thru solid wood worktops in oak and walnut

At first seemed heavy even without batteries. You'll get used to it. It's an amazing skill saw. Cuts through like butter knife. Highly recommend it.
Excellent saw. Really like how fast the "brake" works - makes work faster and safer. Tons of power in a very compact size.
I have always had Makita products, they have always been reliable, and they last. This is a replacement for a similar size one that after over 10 years finally died. It was no contest that I should choose another Makita body, it’s easy to use and well worth the money, but don’t forget it’s the body only, you have to put two batteries in this one.
The rear handle style is a new thing to me but has proved a success. This is my first twin battery saw and has proven itself even on its first outing, working two storeys up putting a cut roof on with two hips and a dormer, this saw went all day without hesitation or power loss, compound cuts a breeze and even shaving a millimetre or two off was no problem. The joist hanging clip is great but just remember to put a nail in your joist as it will slide down towards your wallplate, as I found out. This saw is a must for all who do first fix joinery, I've done it all from cut roofs to flooring and even shuttering for an 8ft double whaler concrete retaining wall.
Great saw , cuts great . Only downside was I didn't get a guide with it . Assuming that is order separate
This is a serious saw.It is a worm drive and like it's cousin the skilsaw it is heavy and the balance is over the front handle, not the rear trigger handle. It excels at ripping, and a hook for hanging it on rafters also doubles as a guard for protecting the batteries. The motor did not complain even when ripping full depth but the batteries drained quickly. It is not the ideal saw for tight places and disappointingly, this saw like other cordless Makita Circular saws does not have a light. Pressing a button now shows each battery level which is important.
Amazing power for the tougher jobs. Goes through hardwood doors like they are paper. Nice feel with the rear handle. Would highly recommend
