Apart from the magnifying lens in the guard, this is a great grinder. My personal feeling is the magnifier is not useful and is distracting so it will be replaced with a standard one. The grinder is very quiet and well balanced. The built in lights are a great feature, more so if you have a dark shed.A nice machine that will make a great addition to any workshop

Its an excellent product - I was just a bit disappointed that one of the threaded hole for the safety glass was not threaded thus I had to purchase a tap to rethread it

Everything was fine if it received without edge damage. There is no packing damage that means the seller shipped damaged item or he didn't inspect it before dispatch.

I have found the Makita bench grinder both easy to use and attain a good quality hollow grind finish on chisels and wood plane irons.So thanks to Trade Tested
Ideal for around the house, not intended to be industrial grinder. Sharpened all the kitchen knives then the lawnmower blades and the edger blade, still looking for things to sharpen as it does a great job.
It is worth paying the extra for this grinder (over the cheaper grinders sold by Bunnings) as it is a great product. The unit is easy to assemble (guides and eye shields), very well balanced, with a well powered motor and quiet in operation.
