After reading a review on this product about the belt alignment I wasn’t sure if I should buy this product but I saw that the previous model with 370W had good reviews so I tried it out. Shortly after I turned it on the sanding belt pulled to one side as described in the review with 1 star. I was sure there must be a way to adjust it as I couldn’t imagine that all machines are faulty. I read the manual and found pictures on page 14 how to adjust and align the sanding belt. After a few tries it’s working well now and I’m happy with it. I also read the reviews about the old 370W model which say it could have a little bit more power. This product now only has 250W but higher rpm as the old model was 2850rpm with 15m/s and the new one has 3000rpm with 16m/s. Yes, like the first review the sander was out of alignment, but with a slight adjustment no issues.

I purchased this 2 days prior to Christmas and was able to use it twice before the top adjustment for the belt went out of alignment. This caused the belt to hit the left-hand side of the cowling causing the belt to shred. I returned it to Bunnings for a replacement and the same thing happened straight out of the box. Returning it again to Bunnings I asked the sales assistant in the tool shop to open up another one and plug it in at the store which he did. The exact same fault occurred again. This is a Manufactuing fault with this product. RYOBI needs to do a product recall on this before someone is seriously injured. DO NOT PURCHASE AS IT IS DANGEROUS!!!!!!

Great setup, all the features i need with Ryobi reliability
