Makita HS0600 2100W 270mm (10-5/8") Circular Saw

Fantastic powerful saw. Bought to replace a bright yellow one that had lasted over 15 years. Decided to upgrade to 100 mm cutting depth. Recently ripped down dried mature oak, like a noisy knife through butter. Big saw. Easy big results.

If you want a big one this is the boy for you !!!!Very powerful cuts through solid worktop like butter adjustable depth cut all what you. Need and more only disappointment I have is that it did not come with a case !!!

We got this saw to cut 100mm x 200mm sleepers, it did the job but seemed to struggle a lot even with a new better quality Makita blade than was supplied with saw. It was used by highly experienced carpenter who has used many different power tools but it still gave a few bad kick backs. But as not many saws on market to cut a full 100mm we settled for this, a bit disappointing for a Makita product.

A lot of saw for your money. Build quality seems good but I guess time will tell. Beast of a powerful motor should see that big blade slice through big stock. Would have liked the option to have bought it with a storage box but maybe this is possible? Looking forward to adding a guide rail system to it.

An excellent saw, ample power to cut to its full depth through hardwood, very accurate guides and easy to control. First class product throughout.

This is a great tool although it gives you a real workout! I'm making a pair of 6.5m long benches out of 4" (100mm) thick elm boards. The 2100W motor on the HSO600 goes through them like butter. My only gripes would be that it doesn't fit the Makita guide rails without a special adapter (an extra nearly £50). It also doesn't sit at a true 90º without some playing about.

Good power bad power switch

It has good power to cut through thick wood and the over 45 degree cuts comes in handy. I dont like the safety on button hidden in the handle. It is difficult to turn on with gloves on and seems to be oriented towards right handed people.

Just amazing delivery service. Arrived the next day. Thanks so much PTW. The saw.. the cable is about 1.5m long. So find yourself 4m of tool cable a good plug. The base of the saw is like sand paper and hardy moves until sanded and polished. The handle is bare plastic- didn’t realise how much effect that would have on comfort and grip. 4stars because it is a lot of saw at a good price

Stay away from the sidewinders

I have owned the Makita 16 inch circular saw for several years and I hate it! It's poorly balanced, under powered, has severe torque on start up, safety start button is a PIA, the blade is ridiculously expensive and as a right side blade saw, it sucks for right handed carpenters! Now, you would think I would have enough sense to never buy another Makita circular saw? I own several Makita tools and overall, I like the brand quality. So, I figured I would give the 10 1/4 a shot? Results? Same issues as the 16 inch saw, just not nearly as heavy! I've been a carpenter/custom home builder for 46 years. I have 2 Skilsaws that are over 30 years old and still rock! Bottom line....I returned the Makita and bought the Skilsaw Sasquatch!...couldn't be happier!
