I bought this rope three weeks ago, and have already used it for 2 different, six hour climbing sessions with my buddies. This was my first rope to buy, hopefully not my last. I am extremely pleased with the quality, and it works perfect for what we are doing. I strongly recommend this product.

This is an amazing rope for both sport and trad climbing. I took it with me to Joshua Trip in Xmas and it served its purpose in my climbing. Took a few whips and it felt awesome. Also rope was quite light for carrying back and forth at the park. Definitely recommend this rope for climbers : )

Bought 70m to split into (2) 35m pieces for my indoor gym rope. Love the color and being duodess makes it easy to identify what 1/2 I’m using. But most importantly this rope feeds great through my GriGri and multiple other ATC devices. The rope does not seem prone to tangling, it is very supple and very easy to clip. I will be interested to see how it holds up over the next few months. My 9.5mm infantry protect has held up well, but was much stiffer when new.

Just getting into sport climbing and purchased this rope for mostly gym use. I climbed for his lead testing and took a planned fall and it was definitely one of the softest catches I've experienced. Although my son's a great belayer, I also think this rope had a little something to do with it as well. It is also a lot thinner than the ropes I've worked with in the past, so getting used to them. Overall, highly recommended
This might be a fine rope for single pitch, sport, climbing if you plan to be lowered off. In the middle marker is, in my opinion, nothing short of dangerous. After just a few days of light use the middle marker is nothing but 2 faint smudges. A marginally darker section on an already dark blue rope. Even in direct sunlight, with two people looking, the middle marker was difficult to find. I can only imagine the difficulty in trying to locate it at twilight, or after dark by headlamp.
I bought this rope to replace our Mammut 9.5 Crag Dry that eventually wore out after hundreds of pitches. Since the last rope only saw rain once, I went with the non-dry version to save some money. Glad I did! So far, the crag classic has been great. It handles very well and is light enough for long days. Surprisingly high abrasion resistance for how thin it is.
Used for my first outdoor climbing. 2 more experienced climbers gave it high praise and said its one of their favorites. It's soft and doesn't harden over time. I was happy with how it functioned in a Grigri. Another rope we used was thinner and slid through the grigri with too much ease.
Bought this rope as a general workhorse rope for sport climbing and short trad climbs. Its performance is excellent. Its supple, and yet does not tangle easily. Feeds through ATC very nicely. Its non-dry, so not for ice climbing, mountaineering, etc., have other ropes for that. But honestly how many times do we need a water repellent rope for general rock climbing, almost never, right?I personally would not use for long multi pitch trad routes, its a little heavy for that, but of course it will still work just fine. The nice thing is it comes in 80m lengths. Can be a big advantage on rappels, there are a few around where an additional 10 or 20 meters is the difference between needing 2 ropes or a tag line - and obviously can run many 2 pitch routes as 1 pitch if ... MoreBought this rope as a general workhorse rope for sport climbing and short trad climbs. Buyer beware - this is rope has a strong tendency to kink and jam your grigri when paying out slack. This is the second Mammut rope I've owned - my first being a 9.2mm 70M Revelation.Interestingly, both ropes are the same weight (how is that possible?) and both are so stiff, it's a pain to belay. No matter how many times we've tried pulling the rope through the anchors, this one still kinks and jams the grigri. It's almost a safety hazard for the leader how often it happensI've been climbing for 10 years and have slowly been cycling through all of the different rope brands. Petzl, Sterling, Maxim and Edelrid never have these issues. My favorite is the Petzl Volta 9.2mm, closely followed by the Sterling Ion and Maxim Airliner. was my first rope. 10.2 is mega-thicck. too thick for conventional belay devices. It's challenging to pay out rope quickly because belay devices all cant let go of it, so we short rope each other more than necessary. The thickness lends itself to considerable weight, you definitely feel the rope's weight when clipping a bolt at the top of the pitch. I don't know why this thickness exists.
