From the mass of citrus fruits, one would expect a vibrant cooling and sharp smell but that's not what you get. It's more like a juicy, almost jammy, citrus cocktail. From the very beginning, a prominent floral note is detectable. Whereas the rose is not really detectable (maybe contributing to the jammy feeling), jasmine is definitely there. Soleil D’Italie is a fresh, citrus, and watery scent geared to an audience of 25 years old and up. It is suitable for work environments, outdoor activities, informal and formal gatherings, nights out, and all year appropriate. It has a high projection during the first 2 to 3 hours and lasts 9 to 10 hours. If people get whiffs of it, they will compliment you.
I took my time with this one. I wanted to pen my review after testing it out in different scenarios. Is it the best from Mancera? The short answer is no, I would still go for Cedrat as that one is a compliment magnet. However, saying that, if you want to try something different, this is surely worth shelling $280 for. It's sweet and gentle to start with as the amber in it acts dominant in the opening notes but when it settles it has that nice sombre stench that is not overpowering or in your face but would defiantly get you the compliments.
