I was looking to find a good product for my daughters hair. I wanted something that helped to combat frizz and also hold curl. I really enjoyed using this curl defining lotion. FINALLY, a product that’s not heavy and easy to apply through to each strand. I’m so tired of so many products being so heavy on her hair. Not this and I am really starting to enjoy the rest of the Strictly Curls line from Marc Anthony. I would highly recommend the product and the entire line at that. Her hair is semi wet in photo.

I purchased this 8.3 oz bottle on Amazon and the price was too good to pass up. It's called curl defining lotion which made me think it would have like a thick consistency like a leave-in conditioner would. I was wrong. It's a very thin liquidy consistency not like any lotion I would use . The product is bright yellow which I don't like . Why add unnecessary colorants to a hair product ? The smell isn't too bad , it's kind of lemon like . Definitely not my favorite product but it does work well in my 3a curls when used with a leave in conditioner and a mousse .

I really liked this stuff! It worked really well for me. My hair is usually pretty frizzy looking and I thought I’d try this out to see if my hair would wave or curl in any way. It did an amazing job! I look like Taylor Swift circa her debut album! Love it so much. Just applied some mousse first and then the cream and scrunched before using my diffuser! Pictures of my hair when I just let it air dry and brush it straight vs. using the curl cream! Definitely get it y’all :) Does smell a bit like lemon when you put it on but the smell didn’t bug me too much!

This is my first time using this specific product, but I recently tried the shampoo and conditioner and liked them a lot. I haven’t had any issue with any of the products, but I did notice that after using this product and wiping the excess off on a towel it seems to have bleached the fabric. The product doesn’t market any lightening affects so I’m a bit concerned about what it could be doing to my hair. Anyone else notice this?
Great remedy! Before that, I tried cream from this line, I really liked it. I accidentally bought this lotion and was delighted! It's not as dense as cream, but curls fix and make your hair soft. Smell is a separate topic. It smells like some lemon and sugar. The whole line of Mark Anthony smells like this for curls. Anyway, I'm delighted! The expiration dates were fine, you can use it for a long time! Delivery is fast, without damage. I just apply it to slightly damp hair and make curls. It turns out to be very cool!
The size and quality of the package was perfect for its price. I used the product a couple of times. There was no scent to the product. It did not leave my hair heavy or weighed down, neither did it irritate my scalp since I have sensitive skin. It gave my hair a natural look but it did not as a curl activator, rather it just tamed down my frizzy hair into a more natural wavy look since I have frizzy wavy hair.
I have used so many products and this one is actually a pretty good product for the price (if you know what you’re doing). Often times people put a lot of product directly onto the hair. I dilute the product in my hands, even when using it on my wet hair, and work it through my hair in large sections. You do not need much of this product! My family has thick, dark curly hair (my daughters hair is quite coarse) so we know about white flakes. When used properly, this product does NOT do that and actually even when I use it heavily for styling it doesn’t. If the hair is clean from build up from other products it should perform well. While it does NOT dry out the hair, it doesn’t give the hair a lot of sheen or prolonged moisture. This is why I give it four stars. I ... I like this hair Cream. At first I seen Marc Anthony’s name on it and laughed. Smelled it and liked the lemon smell. The price was pretty low so I was like why not try it. I usually use Shea Moisture curl defining smoothie, But the for a while now that cream has been making my hair gunky. So off to Marc Anthony’s cream it is lol. I tried it and I like it. It’s soft and not oily looking. I use a Denman brush which also helps enhance my curls. I have a lot of hair so I usually have to part my hair in sections to evenly apply cream. To those who are new to taking care of natural curly hair, remember to give your hair a break once in a while. Feed you hair. Learn more about your hair texture. Make sure your hair is balanced. I can keep going but I’ll be here forever ... MoreI like this hair Cream. At first I seen Marc Anthony’s name on it and laughed. Smelled it and liked the lemon smell. I've been using this lotion on my 2C/3A curly hair for several years. My hair is thick but fine and can't tolerate super moisturizing products, so this one works perfectly for me. Just enough moisture to keep my hair soft and flexible, not heavy or greasy. First, I've read some of the reviews and see a lot of people have had issues with the product flaking up on them. I haven't had that experience at any point and really can't guess as to why that's happening for them. (Maybe it doesn't work well with other products they've put in their hair? Maybe it's how they're styling their hair?) I smooth this lotion through my damp/wet hair, then scrunch it. After that I apply some of my favorite flaxseed hair gel (it's not sold at Ulta) and scrunch that in. Sometimes if I'm ... MoreI've been using this lotion on my 2C/3A curly hair for several years. Maybe it's how they're styling their hair?) I smooth this lotion through my damp/wet hair, then scrunch it. After that I apply some of my favorite flaxseed hair gel (it's not sold at Ulta) and scrunch that in. Sometimes if I'm in a rush I mix the two together and, unlike so many other styling products I've tried over the years, find that this lotion mixes well and doesn't curdle up in the gel. Some reviewers have also been disappointed in what this product is. Some people understandably expecting a more hydrating/moisturizing product rather than a styling product with light hold. No, this isn't a rich moisturizing type of product. It's definitely for type 2 wavy/curly hair and probably most type 3 curls. I wouldn't recommend it for type 4 coily, textured hair. (Unfortunately too many "curly" hair brands don't make enough products for textured and Black hair!) So just be aware, this is not gonna be a rich, thick product. The Marc Anthony curl cream is thicker than this lotion, but still not what high porosity hair needs.
I received this lotion in my November beauty box. It is so nice when there is a full size product because I get to experiment with it to see how it works best for me. My daughter and I have frizzy hair (curly if the correct products are used). I typically use high end products, while she uses mid level store bought products. We both used this curl defining lotion on a rainy day and it held up well. I did start to have some frizz mid afternoon but that is pretty good for a rainy southern day. The next time I used it I used a bit more product and it worked very well. When I use my high end gel I use at least three pumps so I tried to equal that amount. This lotion kept my curls defined and not “crispy”. I consider it a great alternative to my high end product and a ... MoreI received this lotion in my November beauty box. I consider it a great alternative to my high end product and a perfect choice for my 13 year old. Once again, thank you for the full size product. If we would have just used it once this this would have been a different review! This product will be added to our curly haired arsenal.
