I hate this speaker so much and I definitely would not be buying it again. It started out great but after a month of having it I wish we would’ve bought a different brand. When the speaker turns on it connects to every electronic that has Bluetooth so if you really wanted to you could have music being played by different phones or iPads. Not awesome. There is also a lag when you try to turn the volume up or down on a phone or tablet which is great when you’re struggling to turn the music down when there is baby taking a nap. The speaker is great at playing music when it wants to. It’s as temperamental as a teenager so get ready to push the play button again and again if you switch songs or artists. For how much this item is there should be no flaws.

I received the Marshall Acton III a couple of weeks ago and I'm as happy as can be.Ordering and shipping was a breeze as it always is with B&H.The Acton was ready to go out of the box. My player (Fiio) found Acton's bluetooth right away and the bluetooth connection to my Fiio was almost instant and is stable over 25 feet. I have not tried to go any further yet. If you don't have bluetooth, you are able to plug in a cable with a 3.5mm jack. Adjusting the bass is easy and done via the knob on top or your music player software. It also has a knob for treble, and some other features. If you don't need to entertain the whole block, the Acton III has plenty of power for a good size backyard party.I also have a Klipsch The One II and in comparison, I would say the Klipsch sounds a little bit more balanced.Nevertheless, I have absolutely no regrets buying the Acton III and it is a perfect and cool looking addition to my back porch.Yes, it needs a power source (outlet) but that is no downside for me. I would buy it again.

I was sitting in the doctor's office waiting to be seen and heard the most amazing sound playing. I looked around to see if they ceiling mounted speakers that were recessed and they didn't. Then I spotted this stylish little "bookshelf" speaker and realized that the huge sound was coming out of it. I was blown away and after my appointment, I drove to Best Buy and bought one immediately. I love the big sound that comes from this retro looking package, the lighted dials on the top and just the build quality of this. It's built to last and had some serious weight to it. The bluetooth sound is actually quite impressive but I also use it with Chromecast Audio with the line in. Either way you can't go wrong. Actually bought these because the bestbuy I was at had an open box model that was only missing the aux cable and was heavily discounted. That being said, would I have bought these at full price? Nah, I don't think so, but I'm glad I bought them at around $130.As you can imagine, these have a very fun V shaped sound, which is what a lot of people enjoy for many genres of music where added bass and highs are preferred. Hard to complain about the sound and if anything, using an equalizer on your phone solves any issue you might have with the sound signature.Esthetically, it looks great. Not flashy or distracting.I feel like it not having an internal battery or ability to work off usb power is a missed opportunity. There is an app for smart devices to connect to ... You have a lot of options at that price point and I don't have any buyers remorse after seeing other similarly priced speakers.
My daughter loved this because of the style. I found the sound to be very good. They make some with batteries; this one must be plugged in. That doesn't really bother me as this will be her primary sound system in her dorm or future post-college living room. The controls are "retro" and she thought they were fun. I liked the feel of them. The fit and finish is quite good, given the shoddy way products are made these days.Is it very loud? No. Is it loud enough for a dorm room? Absolutely.
The sound science on this speaker is a little lacking, and apparently they've fixed it with the Action 3. With that said, it's still a major upgrade to the bluetooth speaker I was using before. The EQ nobs allow me to tune the speaker to compensate for it's off default tuning most of the time, and the newer bluetooth standard is much better than the old one I had been using. All in all it's been a wonderful upgrade to my life. The thing looks amazing and has a great form factor for a side table or desk. Buying an open box was perfect for me, seeing as how I as able to save 50% off buying the newer Action 3 that is replacing it. And buying from Best Buy was soooo easy! Oh, and the startup/connected sound on Marshall's products is so fun. I really like everything about the aesthetics of their speakers. They're making the user experience pretty great.

The speaker delivers a rich, clear, and balanced audio experience that is a testament to Marshall's legacy in sound engineering. The bass is deep and powerful without overwhelming the mid and high frequencies. Whether I'm playing classic rock, jazz, or contemporary pop, the speaker handles each genre with finesse, bringing a depth and clarity to the music that is truly captivating.Connectivity and FeaturesSetting up the speaker was straightforward, thanks to its intuitive connectivity options. The Bluetooth connection is stable and quick to set up, allowing me to stream music from my phone effortlessly. I also appreciate the addition of a 3.5mm jack, which gives me the flexibility to connect older devices that might not support Bluetooth. The Marshall Bluetooth app is a nice touch, offering an additional layer of control over the sound settings and making it easy to switch between different connected devices.Battery LifeAs for portability, the speaker's battery life has been remarkable. It easily lasts through a day of continuous play, making it perfect for outdoor gatherings or just moving it around the house without worrying about finding a power outlet. Charging is equally efficient, ensuring the speaker is ready to go when I need it.Final ThoughtsIn conclusion, the Marshall speaker has exceeded my expectations. It's not just a speaker; it's a statement piece that combines style, quality, and performance. Whether you're an audiophile or someone who appreciates the finer things in life, this speaker is a worthy investment. It offers an immersive listening experience that brings music to life, making every moment more memorable. If you're on the fence about getting one, I'd say go for it – it's an experience you won't regret.
It's the worst BT speaker I have ever purchased. The sound is mushy and dead. My tiny and ancient Sony SRS X3 is far superior. This is not Marshall-quality electronics. The app does not work on my phone (Android 11), but the versions of Android that do are not specified anywhere. I thought possibly adjusting the sound through the app might clean this thing up despite the fact I would not use it with a phone but I can't even try. I bought this thing because it is wired and intended to use it in the house. I don't need a battery for stationary use, and I thought this would eliminate having to charge constantly. I did not intend to use it with my phone, but I wanted to give it a fair chance. However, the app does not work, so the sound cannot be cleaned up. My primary ... I did not intend to use it with my phone, but I wanted to give it a fair chance. However, the app does not work, so the sound cannot be cleaned up. My primary use was intended to be PC or TV, but it stinks with both. The voice is almost intelligible, and the music simply sounds dead, with no clarity at all, regardless of where the bass and treble are set. I would not recommend this product to anyone. I taught sound physics for over 15 years before I retired and know what I am talking about.
I recently got my hands on the Marshall Acton II Bluetooth Speaker in Black, and man, it's been a game-changer. First off, the design is killer – that classic Marshall vibe with the textured vinyl and gold bits just screams cool. And when it comes to the sound, this little guy surprised me. It's small, but the sound is big, clear, and hits all the right notes. Bluetooth connects like a breeze, and I love tweaking the volume and stuff with those knobs up top. Perfect for jamming out with friends since it can handle multiple devices. Plus, it feels sturdy, so it seems like it'll be hanging around for a while. Overall, the Acton II is not just a speaker; it's like a stylish sidekick that brings the party wherever you go. Totally digging it!
