I think this product is fantastic after having spent some time with it, you can get a cranked amp tone and force breakup, while keeping the volume low for use at night time… the amp on its own is still surprisingly loud so I run a jhs volume control through the effects loop to keep it under control. But overall I absolutely love it and would recommend this product to anyone looking for a home use amp head. The only issue I have with it, is that the construction and overall finish feels a bit cheaper compared to the UK made options.

Great tone when pushed hard, does better with new tubes. Odd popping noise when changing channels has gone away.

Epic little amp. More than enough for home. And paired up with an orange PCC112 cab this thing can get as quiet or as loud as you want
This little amplifier is the ultimate recording amp for the rock or hard rock guitar player. I have it running into a 16ohm 4x12 and it sounds huge. The effects loop is a real bonus and the ability to drop to 0.1 watt will satisfy even the bedroom player.Highly recommended
Great 1 watt unit. Low wattage allows full soak tube distortion at full volume without the neighbours turning up. Only criticism is that the clean channel is not really exsistent as the classic channel distorts very early. Great amp and tone .
Great little amp for home use matched to an orange 2x12 I can get some good tones. For the price and intended use cant fault it. Also exiling service from Billy Hyne. Cheers
Does everything claimed of it brilliantly with an amazing volume on high power setting, into a 12inch 16 ohm speaker it has a definition of sound for all musical styles that is extraordinary. Low power setting allows for great sound saturation.
Being a 90's rocker I always find myself drawn back to Marshall tube amps and their iconic sound.Since I no longer actively gig and predominantly stick to jamming in my home studio this amp is perfectly matched to my need for killer tone in a low(er) volume rig. Don't get me wrong - 1 watt can actually be pretty loud, especially when driving a 4x12" cab! I am using this with a custom built Rocket Cab "Memphis" loaded with a Celestion Gold Alnico speaker.Maybe I'm just getting old but I must admit it's nice to be able to rock at midnight and still get warm, nuanced and usable tube sounds at home/bedroom levels.I've tried so many amps in an attempt to find a low wattage, channel switching and relatively full featured amp and this is the ONLY one that has ... MoreBeing a 90's rocker I always find myself drawn back to Marshall tube amps and their iconic sound.Since I no longer actively gig and predominantly stick to jamming in my home studio this amp is perfectly matched to my need for killer tone in a low(er) volume rig. I could not be happier! Yes, it's expensive but IMHO it's about getting the right tool for your needs.I still have a DSL40 and a TSL60 and I must say that this little head really captures the spirit of those iconic amps! I also have a JCM900 which is one of my favorite amps of all time and this DSL1 does a really nice job capturing some of those sounds as well.It has a lot of nice features [read the specs] I just wish it had reverb but I am really happy with the sound I get pairing this with my Wampler "Faux Spring Reverb" stompbox either directly in front of the amp or via the fx loop. This is one little "special edition" amp I'll be hanging onto!
The Classic Gain Channel shouldn't be called a gain channel at all. The difference is SO minimal. That was my only and MAJOR Con. It's practically weightless and just looks so darn cute, but SCREAMS like a savage beast.

The 2018 refreshed DSL 1w head is a no brainer for practising your face melting solos and lung perforating riffs at home! The DSL1HTM has the classic Marshall tone and features expected on a DSL but at a lower power to suit those who play at home. The sound has been perfectly crafted to suit those with eclectic tastes, looking for tonal experimentation.
