I picked up my Marshall MS-2 Mini Stack around 1990 just to have something light and mobile for personal/practice use in places where an amplifier just wouldn't work. Think camping in the mountains or hanging out at the beach or on the boat.It sounds a lot like one would expect a 9v .5w mini amp. to sound. Not great, but it'll do in a pinch.I have not babied this little amp. It has lived a hard life and eaten hundreds of 9v batteries. The clean channel always has a little crunch, the OD channel sounds very rough but in a good way. Sounds best (not a joke) with the volume cranked, in a small garbage can with a pillow over it. Volume has to be at 10 to sound good, but that's too loud for practice. Try it!Classic Marshall look.

It's meant to just try out a couple of licks in the living room or work out a progression that's been bugging you for a couple of nights. Need to practice your scales and modes just to get a couple of minutes or an hour of playing time in? This is the item for you. Need to work on dynamics and nuances for your next gig or recording? This is NOT the item for you; plug into your real rig.Don't expect more out of it. Nice toy!You can definitely have some fun. Tone is not actually tone. You end up always with some clipping (overdrive). So, if you are looking for a clean guitar sound, this is not for you. Also no proper bass. Don't expect miracles from the 2.5" drive.Apart from that, its a nice looking toy that you can actually have a lot of fun with! Battery lasts some 10 hours, so you are good to go. But buy yourself some 9V usb rechargeable batteries if you really intend to use is. Power source is a no go since you will most likely use this clipped to your belt to annoy friends and treat your love. :-)
As a singer songwriter living in a terrace house, I've always been a bit wary of using big amps. Had my eye on this Marshal MS-2 Micro for a while and bought it to go with my semi hollow Ibanez. It's the perfect volume for playing inside and has allowed me the freedom to play without worrying about being too loud. This and the new guitar has inspired me to write music again. So worth it for those who want to play and practise the guitar by themselves as opposed to in a band. Ideal for flats and terrace houses. Volume is good and can be louder if needed but I feel it has just rhe right range for what you'll need it for! Amazing
This micro amp is perfecr for a gift, it is cute decoration. I tried it on an electric guitar and you get what you pay for, the sound is not that great because this is small unit, but it is playable on lower volume. It uses 9V battery which is not included in the product and power supply is also not included.
I had one previously, but blew it up with a mains lead..... this new one was just a replacement and was for my workbench to check on pickups and their workings!Sound quality not really a priority but is fine for the purpose. Nicer finish and I now have spare parts from my old one.
The belt clip is great for easy moving around.The sound is louder and better than expected and the overdrive packs a punch.Unfortunately the clean sound distorts at about half volume making it not much different to the overdrive option.Would be good for busking in quiet shopping centre if you wanted to use a clean sound. If you're busking near traffic you'll have to use the overdrive limiting your song list.

It has an earphone jack for quiet, private practice or wear it around the mall while you're playing and where headphones like others do with their smart phones. I've made the most of this amp by practicing at the food court or while in a car. You can get clear tone or great distortion. Can't see any reason why you can't record using this. Just place a mic in front and go through a PA. It has it's own sound, especially for those who don't use reverb and it gets loud for its size. For a great demo, watch the movie 'School of Rock'. Jack Black incorporates this AND the double-stack micro amp into his classroom performances. ...
