I use this for audiobooks and classical music and it is truly excellent.A nice small, compact size & shape (15 x 17 x 7 approx & weighing 1.4kg / 3lbs 1oz) it is lightweight enough to carry around easily, small enough to not take up much room, & heavy enough not to accidentally knock over. The sound is wonderful, & having analogue control volume (+on/off), bass & treble knobs makes it perfect for the spoken word. If it is left unused for 10 minutes it enters standby mode, to save battery charge & pushing the Bluetooth button will wake it up. It has a built-in rechargeable Li-ion battery. With 20+ hours of portable playtime from a single charge, this is more than adequate. It can quick-charge, giving 6 hours play from a 20-minute charge & a full-charge for 20+ ... The battery level indicator lights in red & will go still when fully charged. My only negative comment would be that one has to have one's eye exactly above the light to be able to see it.The detachable carry strap (guitar-inspired!) is wide enough to put over your forearm without digging in, if you're carrying something in your hands.Pairing with my AppleMac via Bluetooth was easy & once done, it reconnects in moments. It comes with Bluetooth 5 technology & will play at a range of up to 30 feet.It uses Blumlein Stereo Sound construction (multi-directional).The outside case is very robust & rugged with a silicone exterior, steel metal grille & an IPX4 water resistant rating - resistant to water splashes from any direction. It has multi-host functionality & can connect/switch between 2 Bluetooth devices + 1 Aux device (so 3 in total). Pushing the Bluetooth button toggles between connected devices.I understand it has 1 10W Class D amplifier for the woofer & 2 5W Class D amplifiers for the tweeters.USB-C cable. You can charge your phone, tablet etc from the speaker with your own cable.Further instructions are available to download.

We needed a portable Bluetooth battery operated speaker for rehearsals. Very hesitant on buying a small speaker as I thought it would sound to bright. Pleasantly surprised to find this deliver a well rounded.Battery lasts for a week of after school rehearsals.Like that it has USB-C for charging. It comes with a cord that plugs into USB-A though. If you need USB-C to C for charging, you will need another cable.Has standard guitar strap pins so you could swap the strap out for a longer guitar strap if you like.

Taking the speaker out of the box the first impression is that this is a top end piece of kit. The weight and feel of the unit inspires confidence, quality control knobs and the classic look back this up. The only item that was problematic was the handle that fits over two studs on the side of the unit once fitted felt solid but the lack of retaining clip was unusual. Overall it promised a classic sound to match the look.Charging was easy just plug in and a battery capacity meter on the control panel is easy to read and unusually the speaker allows you to play music as it charges. Not that you will need to use this much as the battery last over 20 hours per charge. Set up to Bluetooth was simple and a cable connection is provided to allow a hard wired ... The bass is impressive with a good top end and a surprising amount of power for such a small size speaker. The only slight problem is the mid range where the sound can get a little muddled. Overall it copes well with mixed genres and deals well with spoken word as well. This is a great portable speaker with a classic Marshall look that stands out from the rest.

I actually bought this on amazon back when it was pretty expensive, but I thought I would share my views here as it is better value now.A warning for those who plan to use the aux in at any point - it has a huge flaw here. I had 2 from amazon (1 as a replacement) and tested another in PC world on display. The speaker seems to go into sleep mode with the aux mode within under 2 seconds. Pretty much every single time audio starts, it takes over a second to detect the audio and play it. This means that tracks ending and having a gap will make the speaker go into this "sleep" function and take a second to wake up. Probably about 90% of the time between tracks, you will notice this and it is simply unacceptable. If you plan to play an audio book or radio podcast to the ... This means that tracks ending and having a gap will make the speaker go into this "sleep" function and take a second to wake up. Probably about 90% of the time between tracks, you will notice this and it is simply unacceptable. If you plan to play an audio book or radio podcast to the speaker, it is unusable as there are too many gaps that are over 2 seconds that then make you miss many words. As a guitar amp company, I find it very poor that that haven't thought enough while making this to make it usable to those who like to use a cable. I rang marshal about this and once they had heard about what i worked out, they did actually thank me for that. Hopefully an upgraded model will sort this out in the future.I almost always use a cable with speakers that sound this good. You are always better off using a cable it it is practical enough as there is no delay.Regarding the sound, the low end is probably the most impressive I've every heard for a speaker of this size, but the slight negative is that it really lacks upper bass. If the same track has a moment with a lot of bass in the 55 - 75hz region, then later goes up to around 125 - 200hz, it can go from really impressive to very lacking. If anything, a small speaker should be the other way round. So I would say that they could have improved the upper bass a little, but it is only a small niggle. The mid range and treble are very clear on this speaker, but to me, i think the fact audio comes from both sides has a bit of a negative effect (or positive to some) on the speakers sound. It sounds quite "live" as if the instruments are rather distant like they are in a large hall. It doesn't sound like the original recording. If you are used to a pair of hifi speakers around this price, you will notice that despite it doing pretty good stereo imaging, the echo like sound takes some time to get used to. But then for a bluetooth speaker, a lot probably will sound similar. The sound isn't without some issues, but for the size and price it is at now, I think I would give that 4 or 4.5 stars if that was possible. The low rating is purely because of the unusable audio input. I'm very surprised that none of the professional reviews mentioned this. Almost makes me think they didn't test every feature of the speaker.Don't let this review put you off if you just plan to use blutooth. It is currently outstanding value sound and build wise for that.
The Marshall Stockwell II speaker is excellent. I own seven Marshall speakers. I recommend the gold lettering because of its aesthetic beauty. The speaker itself is beautiful to look at and very well made. Now let’s talk about the sound. I have seen reviews where people complain that the Stockwell is not loud enough. The Stockwell II is not going to blow you out of the room. This speaker comes alive at level nine. What is nice for me is that the sound quality is crisp and clear when the speaker is at full volume. I listen to rock and roll and the Stockwell delivers. This speaker is not about bass, but more highs and midrange and loud enough to really enjoy your music while not damaging your eardrums. Bought during a special so paid a reasonable price. Great battery life on 1 charge. Not that impressed with sound. I think my biggest issue is even though it is Bluetooth, you’re unable to link this with another Marshall Bluetooth to play simultaneously. Would be nice to have this feature. Either way. I’m keeping it since the piece was right, would pay regular price for it
Marshall Stockwell II cuts off the beginning of every song after several seconds of silence. It is unusable with AUX input altogether.I have experienced this problem with both Bluetooth and AUX inputs; others have reported that they have it with the AUX input as well. So much for guitar amp aesthetic.Steps to reproduce:1)Connect speaker to phone or computer via AUX input2)Play one song3)Choose another song (taking 5 seconds between songs)4)Play another song5)RepeatProblem: the first beat of each song gets cut offExpected behavior: when I play a song, I expect to hear the WHOLE song, not just bits and pieces of it.
I don’t normally write reviews but I would be remised if I didn’t warn my fellow patrons to stay away from this overpriced garbage. From one through five the volume is barely above a whisper. You get better sound off of your cell phone. On max volume I could barely hear it over the road noise in the car. It will definitely not do if you were trying to hear it at the beach or on a picnic. It looks cool and that’s all I have to say positive. This company needs to be ashamed of themselves for even producing this let alone making up the price to over $200. It’s the worst Bluetooth speaker I’ve ever owned. I just picked it up and I’m taking it right back to the store.
The Marshal Stockwell II Portable Bluetooth Speaker is a stylish looking speaker that blends well in our house. It is compact in size and light enough to carry easily from room to room inside as well as outside in the garden. The Quick Start Guide provides concise instructions, alongside step by step diagrams with detailed labelling of all parts of the speaker. The sturdy carry strap is packaged separately and has to be attached to the speaker. We fitted the strap quite easily. We also managed to pair our iPad via Bluetooth to the speaker immediately. As relative technophobes, we found the instructions very easy to follow and set up.The speaker also comes with a USB lead for charging the battery. It doesn't come with a plug however. This was not a problem for us ... MoreThe Marshal Stockwell II Portable Bluetooth Speaker is a stylish looking speaker that blends well in our house. This was not a problem for us as we use compatible plugs for charging our iPhones. The speaker has a useful battery indicator on the top panel. It arrived fully charged so we didn't need to charge before setting up.We think that the sound quality is excellent and the volume very impressive for such a tiny speaker. The volume, bass and treble levels are adjustable via the three knobs on the top panel. All things considered, we think it is good value for money and we would recommend it to other music lovers like ourselves.
Very pleased with this bulldog of a Bluetooth speaker. Medium-sized but very solid feeling and top-notch quality which was reflected in the packaging. The strap was a little fiddly to fix on, but once on is clearly secure so no worries about it slipping off as you carry it. It looks and feels like a guitar strap which, when coupled with the iconic Marshall metal grille, gives a high end and professional image. The set-up was quick and straightforward without any need for instructions for anyone who's connected a device via Bluetooth or charged anything with USB before - though the printed instructions provide a helpful guide for those who need it. It comes with a USB C cable, which many people would already have set up to charge their phones. As well as Bluetooth ... MoreVery pleased with this bulldog of a Bluetooth speaker. As well as Bluetooth connectivity, there is the option to use a 3.5mm jack to connect directly to an audio source. The audio quality is fantastic for something so small. It has a decent volume that would be enough for a group of friends in a garden to enjoy, without being overpowering. The range is also impressive. We placed it outside on the street to sing along to music with neighbours during lockdown and it received the signal from a phone at an upstairs window across a front garden without any problems! For enjoying music out and about, it's useful to have speakers on both sides to project sound all around. Not being a music aficionado, I probably can't appreciate the treble and bass adjustment knobs to their full potential, but it was good to have the option to tweak the sound for different kinds of music or voices to a personal preference.
