Just a great sounding, well balanced guitar with a wide tonal pallette. Lush overtones shimmer when strummed and the comfortable 1 3/4" nut width is well suited for fingerstyle playing. After five years this gem has opened up nicely.

I have the 2014 model, which I think has the same specs as the new ones now. First off, this ambertone OM-21 is absolutely beautiful. Online photos don't do it justice. It is cosmetically not fancy, but the sitka spruce top, rosewood back/sides, ebony fingerboard and bridge, and bone nut/saddle more than make up for that. It sounds amazing, wonderful clarity and tone, and plays like butter. A great Martin offering without bells and whistles that you might not feel you need. On mine, the fit/finish are as you would expect in this price range. I really like the OM/OOO body size, and the neck is the most comfortable I've ever played. I like the 1 3/4" fingerboard width, as I do some finger style. This OM-21 is one of my favorite guitars... it's the second one I've owned because I foolishly sold my first one. It has the classic deep and rich Martin sound, feel, and craftsmanship and the sunburst is beautiful...

I really love this guitar! I purchased in a sunburst finish. There's nothing to dislike. Martin's come with the action a little high, this is to be expected. I took it to a tech to have the action lowered to my taste. Because it's plek'd from the factory, you can really get the action quite low. It's is now the best of my guitars. The sound is so balanced, it's beautiful to behold and to play. I never want to put it down. I've waited a bunch of years to commit...it is everything I wanted and imagined it could be. Martin standard series are all amazing. They Are the Martin sound defined, the reference point. They are not a cheap investment, but they are worth it. I wanted a sunburst with understated dark bindings to blend with the sunburst. This is my guitar...it is stellar in every respect. If you can acquire any model of the standard series of martins, you will be blessed with tone and beauty. It will be a lifetime guitar.
The OM-21 may not have a lot of fancy trim, but its construction and materials make it the quintessential players guitar. Play one of these and you will experience a balanced instrument with rich mids that sound like the wood itself. Perfect for recording!
I've had a Gibson J45 custom for years and have loved it, but there is just something about the Martin tone that is so raw and perfect. So I ended up selling the Gibson and buying this Martin OM-21 and I am not disappointed. Even though it's a smaller body than my jumbo, it still packs a nice low end punch with clarity that resonates so beautifully. This is a guitar that I'll keep forever!
The Martin plays like a dream. Took a bit of getting used to the shorter scale and the slightly wider neck, well about 30mins. Lovely guitar,The OM21 and D28 are two of Martins finest.
Absolutely amazing guitar. I had been shopping for a while, and tried an OM-21 in my local GC. The overtones, the warm tone, I just had to have it! Definitely a forever guitar and could not be happier. Get your hands on one of these!
I've been wanting an OM body size for awhile now, and when I saw the ambertone finish option, I knew I wanted to order one. I couldn't be happier with the OM-21...it's got great balance across the strings...sparkling highs and full lows, without getting boomy as many Martins can. The thing I was pleasantly surprised with though was the sustain...even just fingerpicking the notes rang out forever.
