I was looking to buy an air purifier and the John Lewis associate I spoke to recommend the Dyson. When I saw this online and at a cheaper (for dyson) price I nabbed it. However, it turns out there is no purifier setting - you either have to have the heat on or the fan on, so clearly you can't leave it running all the time like a regular purifier. Superb lightweight, portable, powerful and effective product. It has valuable triple features; heating, cooling and air purifying. In addition, it has useful other features such as a timer, temperature control and air flow direction to either produce a direct stream of heated or cooled air or a wider spread of air. It also has a temperature cut off similar to climate control.I would recommend this product for when you need quick heated or cooled air.

I beg to differ strongly with your last reviewer. I have used this Dyson fan/heater daily over the past two weeks of a very changeable June/July 2023. It DOES cool the air in the room, and the narrow, directional function is brilliant at cooling you individually if needed.The heater function has been used on a few cooler mornings and I cannot praise it enough. With the sweeping motion on and fan turned up high my living room was warm within approx. 6 minutes. Excellent to be cosy first thing when thinking of the forthcoming winter mornings. Use the fan on a low setting for heat or cooling and it is so quiet, a real bonus. Expensive? yes, but you get what you pay for. Buy cheap, buy twice!!

I'm really happy that I eventually got myself this Dyson hot + cool purifying fan as I tend to over heat & it's great for cooling down & as everyone knows just now the weather is real cold so using the heater is great for a boost heat until central heating kicks in Plus I was lucky enough to get a £100 cheaper when purchasing which made it an item I just had to get as friend used one Hot & cool fan a while back & loved that too as when arriving I was always to hot & still happens now but I got my own machine that cools me down quickly.Also after bathing & showering. I hate towel drying & prefer just sitting in dressing robe or towels until dry & the hot or cool air helps with that much quicker.I personally just only need the heat for 15 mins when I wake up as ... I can notice the air purity already after one day of use. We bought it for our toddlers room to maintain the temperature throughout the night, whilst purifying. The air isn't drying like other fan heaters, and distributes the heat more efficiently across the room.Once the desired temperature is reached, the heating turns off (and back on once the temperature drops), but the purifying continues, which is very quiet. Unless you set a timer to turn the Dyson off, the purifier will continue circulating... which is ideal for us, but just a note for others.From my very quick research, the air purifying doesn't cost much to run so happy to run it overnight and turn it off in the morning.Note that the the manual has a warning to supervise children under 3 around the fan.
I recently purchased this & I've been using it to heat my living space. It's relatively quiet & takes the edge off of a cool room very quickly.I've also tested the cooling fan function, which seems to be efficient & only becomes a bit on the noisy side when on the maximum settings.I love that this can be remote controlled (as I have mobility difficulties), can either be set tobe stationary or rotate & there is an inbuilt air filter (sadly this only works when in heating / cooling mode though).The unit looks good & isn't overbearing in my small but perfectly formed flat.One improvement I would suggest is that the remote control be improved for people with poor dexterity & visual impairment. This arrived today. I wanted a fan and a purifier and it’s a bonus that this is a heater too. I have another fan I purchased from QVC, 2 in fact, so I took the opportunity to compare. The much cheaper fan is quieter but somehow the air doesn’t feel as cold from the Dyson, plus the Dyson is a lot bigger. I think I should have gone with my instinct and gone with the Dyson HP7A Pure Hot & Cool Purifier as this seems to display information about how the air quality is and what it’s doing. This one doesn’t do that so you’re left feeling a bit unsure as to whether it’s actually purifying the air or not. Hopefully I can return this and order the HP7A as an alternative which I think will be more suitable for my requirements.

I did ask for advice concerning the effectiveness of the air purifier I bought but got little useful advice. I bought it because it filters down to 0.1 microns.When I received it I noticed it was not big enough to filter a room but only the space in front of the purifier.I was also told that it was very quiet but in fact there is quite a noise when in maximum use.Thirdly I failed to receive it on the first attempt though I was told it was for next day delivery and had to complain to Dyson and Parcel Force. I received another a couple of weeks later.I have not used it much so far and just as a heater a few times.I suppose I should have bought ... Very nice purchase. The effects are visible. Sometimes the noise might be too loud, but when kept at lower speeds the noise is not as loud. Biggest setback is the price. Either way it is very stylish and it works very well.
