I apply it after putting on my lip liner and then allow it enough time to dry with my lips open, which may be something like 30 seconds. While not specifically a moisturizing lipstick, I was very impressed by the smooth and healthy finish left by the formula once completely dried. The product claims to be smudge and transfer proof. I was happy to put this claim to the test - and even drank out of an aluminum soda can shortly after applying the product just to test the limits. Not a hint was transferred onto the can. I also did a test on the back of my hand with reasonable pressure. I did notice the vaguest tint transfer, but nothing overtly noticeable. I also appreciate that there is a drying time that allows you to buffer out harsh edges, or fix any mistakes before the product fully sets. This absolutely gave me saturated vinyl lips, and the velvety pink shade “Coy” is such a charming and romantic hue. A bit too opaque for me, but right on the mark if bold vinyl lips are what you seek.

I will say that it is long lasting, after the dry down it stays put for a good 6 hours or so but then will fade away in dryer patches of your lips I am quite disappointed in this product having used so many fabulous Maybelline lip products that are great. If you have dry or chapped this then this isn’t the product for you. I do love matte liquid lip products but want them to not feel super drying on my lips. This is not something I would purchase again..

#25 Red-Hot is HOTTTTTT!!!

I got #25 Red Hot And it’s definitely hot!! A very bright and vibrant red. I was worried at first because while applying, it seemed a bit translucent and the applicator seemed to be pushing the ink around. I actually added a second layer but it still didn’t appear matte enough. I left it alone at that point because it was beginning to dry and I didn’t want to make it worse. Well, fret not, because it actually dried matte! Not splotchy at all like I was worried about. I went out to eat with the hubby and kids and it kept a glossy finish while eating. No transfer either. It does take a few minutes to dry and it feels slightly tacky at first but it wears off. I have plans to buy the following: # 55 Royal (a deep sultry red) # 130 Extra (a brownish peach) # 110 Awestruck (mauve) # 135 Fearless ( a dark mauve-ish purple) # 140 Charged (a deeper darker purple) My complexion, if it helps: I have light skin. Olive undertones. Pink overtones. I use Urban Decay Stay Naked foundation in the color 30CG (stands for cool green). It’s a perfect match. My bare lips are purple-y which can affect how lip product shows once applied. But the Red-Hot vinyl ink was so pigmented that my natural color did not show through or affect appearance. Bottom line, get you some Vinyl ink!

I found this one highly rated on multiple websites so I decided to try it. Honestly, I love it! The color is beautiful! It's a bit on the pricey side coming in at $10 a stick but this color lasts! And stays on pretty much all day once it's dry. With this liquid lipstick you need to make sure to SHAKE the container really well before use. Shake, shake, shake it! And then apply. This particular color can be a little messy so apply gently, also do not rub your lips together like you would any regular lipstick, this one you just have to let it sit. I like this shade for formal amazing but this shade does not go well with my skin tone. I use this with a brown lipliner. As its own colour, I don't think it's for me. I’m going middle of the star rating because I neither love nor truly hate this product, but I am not a huge fan. I bought this on a coworker’s recommendation, who loves it, for an upcoming wedding. She told me it lasts forever, which is what I want since I don’t want to have to keep refreshing my lipstick. This definitely stays on. I had a hard time getting it off my lips. Granted I tried it for only a short period of time to see if I liked the color. I couldn’t leave it on for very long cause it was bothering me. I don’t wear lipstick often so it may just be me and my reasons for not wearing lipstick. It felt very dried on.
