I have had a knee issue for quite some time and tried several different braces and compression sleeves and the first day I used this knee support for work it was night and day. The pain I was experiencing when I was working is non existent since wearing the brace. Well worth the purchase if you don't like pain.

Great knee brace for playing sports. I play basketball and have years (46 years old) of wear and tear on my knees which became arthritic and would swell after playing. Since wearing these braces my knees are stabilized and the pressure is relieved from my knees while still providing full range of motion. No more swollen knees and I feel great after!!Once you get use to the sturdiness of the brace you will be very happy with your brace. I also bought the McDavid calf/knee sleeve (a size bigger than my knee brace) to go over my braces to provide added warmth and to provide style to the braces.

Based on his advice and these reviews I thought this brace would work for my condition.I reviewed the sizing and measurement instructions for S, M, L and XL circumferences of the knee. If you stand up straight and use a fabric tape measure you'll do just fine. Sizes seam to be accurate. Know that the sleeve portion of this brace must fit snug to provide compression and effective support. It can take a little bit of time for new brace users to get accustomed to the support and feeling of the neoprene/elastic fabric behind the knee. I have to agree with most reviewers of this product that McDavid is correct in sizing. Average size people will not have and difficulty with this device fitting properlyThe new, redesigned McDavid model is awesome. I bought a pair to give both knees support and the cost with shipping was $110 from the manufacturer. The price was much better through DME-Direct - this is a great price for this type of quality construction and level of support. They fit both right and left legs. The sewn-in coiled springs provide lateral and medial support. There is a patella ring with doughnut hole in the front that is padded and keeps patella supported comfortably. Four two-inch wide elastic straps criss-cross in front of the patella and provide additional support. The brace is secured in place by two-inch wide straps that cinch up and fasten in place with thick velcro closure tabs. The device remains in place where I cinch it down, even with a lot of walking and standing up from sitting. I'm not able to enjoy running and tennis activity anymore. The straps are very easy to apply and do not require any instruction.The stitching and the seams on these braces holds up to continual flexing and pressure on the seams. Stitching is high quality along all of the seams. The fabric is breathable unlike typical neoprene and I do not think its irritating, even when worn for hours at a time. Washing by hand in the sink is the best method of cleaning.These braces fit underneath most pants or trousers easily.The bottom line: These devices provide support, improved shock absorption, and moderate realigning of the upper and lower leg for people. They also relieve some of the stress on the ankle and hip joints. I am now able to enjoy walking three miles a day with my wife and I feel my knee pain is now finally gone.
