Aah...the feeling of genuine foot support.
I bought these for hiking and for gym use. They are very supportive. That matters a lot as I am a power lifter and a frequent hiker. I instantly felt the support beneath my feet and there was no break in period for these shoes. As far as the style, I like the speckles on the outside of the shoe bed. I bought the black and white version and the speckles on the white bed serve as camouflage for the dirt that I normally carry around. on the bottom side of the shoe. (Is it dirt or is it speckles?)I have not tested the waterproof feature yet as we are burning up in Texas and there are few puddles of wet anything here but I have had enough Merrill shoes that I know they will work in wet conditions when they are so labeled. Retro style, especially in black and white.... Show more

Beautiful colors in black with fuschia midsole
These sneakers fit well on the length and width, and I love the colors, especially the practical fuchsia midsoles (I avoid white midsoles). However, just trying them in the house on carpet and hardwood floors could not convince me to keep them. I felt pressure on the TOP of my foot each time my foot was bending to step forward. Even completely loosening the laces to the maximum did not help. I think the pressure was located where the lacing panels are sewn down where they start, not allowing any stretch as one steps forward and the foot lifts up.I chose these shoes for the soft knit texture, but it did not help because of the way the lacing sides are sewn down, and therefore keep the foot constricted.Too bad because everything else was perfect, plus they look ... Comfortable but not waterproof
I bought these shoes primarily for walking my dog because we walk many miles a day, often in wet grass and sometimes in rain, and I've had them for about 5 months now. They are comfortable, lightweight, and provide good traction, with so far very little wear on the treads. However, they are not waterproof, as their name would suggest. They hold up alright to wet grass (though not a lot of it), but do not keep dry while walking in rain. As others mentioned, I'm also not the biggest fan of the lacing - it's hard to get them snug around the large tongue. Overall, I think they are great shoes for everyday/active wear, but not reliable for wet conditions.... Show more

Extremely uncomfortable
I love the two pairs of Merrill’s that I’ve had for awhile now but I wanted a new pair since my current ones have seen better days. Unfortunately, this were a huge disappointment and once of the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever worn. I took them out of the box, wore them for a half hour on the treadmill to see how they feel. Huge blister on the back of my heel from the stiff material in the heel area. Extremely uncomfortable. I took them off and haven’t worn them again.... Show more

Happy customer
This is my second pair of Merrell Bravada shoes. The fit was perfect the first time around and I decided to purchase a second pair two years later hoping this second pair would fit equally well. I'm not one to buy shoes online, but decided to purchase this pair online and hope they'd be a good fit. The second pair fit perfect, just like the first pair! This tells me that Merrell shoes are a true to size fit and makes me happy. I wear my shoes for walking and for running errands. They're light weight and comfortable. I will most likely purchase this Merrell shoe again in the future.... Show more

Heel tab/ collar not even
I ordered this pair of shoes online, was excited to receive it as it was my 3rd pair from this brand. A previous pair bought from the store, another bought online as I trusted the quality of the brand. Both pairs of high quality and comfortable for walking. Because of my trust in its quality, I did not immediately check the shoes’ quality on receipt, wore it immediately for work. A few days of wearing it, I was very disappointed— heel tab/collar on the R shoe was almost an inch shorter than the L shoe. This pair should’ve not passed quality control! I have worn it a few days when I noticed something was off as it caused a blister on my R heel… turns out the R heel tab was shorter and not properly done. I want to return the pair but returns policy say only unused ... MoreI ordered this pair of shoes online, was excited to receive it as it was my 3rd pair from this brand. Multi-purpose, hike/walk/run a little
I bought these to replace my beloved and long-lived Siren Edges. This time I was wanted something truly waterproof, and stable and grippy, but maybe just a little more runner-y, in case the inspiration hits to kick up my heels on the trail a little (I’m a walker/hiker who dabbles in trail running - hoping for a shoe that can do it all, in rainy 4-season Vancouver weather). These ticked all the boxes. They feel stable and very grippy, and definitely more runner-ish than the Siren (i.e. softer landing, narrower, more flexible, less lateral stability), which is taking some getting used to but is actually what I wanted. They also have a more athletic-shoe look, which is maybe ‘cooler' in the street (than an obvious hiking shoe)? Anyway, I haven’t tested the waterproof ... Anyway, I haven’t tested the waterproof aspect yet since we are just getting into the rainy season, but if that feature holds true I’m sure I’ll put a jillion miles on these puppies this year.... Not the best available option
Overall the quality of the shoe is good and the color and appearance are both very nice. The only issue with this shoe I have found would be that the tongue of the shoe is definitely not the best design. It does tend to bunch up if not properly lined up and tied tight and will cause pain on the top of my foot. For that reason I would have returned them but unfortunately Merrill’s return policy regarding lightly worn shoes is not accepted. I would expect a brand that specializes in outdoor comfortable shoes would have a better return policy as a lot of issues with shoes require you to try them on and experience how they move with you. For the price of their products I do hope they will do better for their customers like myself who genuinely love the brand.... Show more

NOT WATERPROOF by ANY Stretch of the imagination!
Although the shoe is good quality and comfortable, IT IS NOT WATERPROOF! I bought it specifically for that reason. It even has it embroidered on the outside of the shoe “waterproof.” I don’t know if the manufacturer messed up or it’s false advertising. We hike in foothills near our home, and sometimes the grasses hang over the trail, and if it has rained or there is a lot of dew, we come back with soaking wet feet! Not fun, especially when I paid for waterproof shoes. They don’t even begin to measure up.... Show more

Ugh
This product unfortunately did NOT run small it ran big. Also my left shoe has smeared glue streaks in several places. The shoe lace is also coated in a sticky substance. The right shoe I swear the tongue is made with extra material because it does not sit well and so uncomfortable when you lace it. I figured instead of dealing with returning these I would try a nice thick pair of hiking socks but the tongue makes them to uncomfortable to wear. So I may return them or just donate them....
