At the end of the day I’d rather have hot, sweaty feet than pinched, pained feet.Overall I’m very happy and looking forward to many more adventures in these boots.... Show more

Little pebbles and things rarely get into the boots which is a major plus. The shoes are heavy though, and not my favorite for just a day hike without any gear, but they are super comfortable and have never given my blister-prone feet any issues so I wear them anyways. I found them to be true to size and width. My only complaint is the insole which seems really lackluster compared to some of the other options out there, and it doesn’t provide great arch support, so I replaced with Dr. Scholl’s and it’s been fine since. The lacing and metal hooks keep my foot from rolling around, and surprisingly they don’t have an odor after years of use. I haven’t seen the color of the boot in quite some time as it stays covered with mud (I hike regularly with my dogs) but the dirt and grime slicks right off whenever I have attempted to clean them with a hose. Would definitely recommend and am probably going to repurchase the same boot without even researching others.... Show more

I got these in 2017 and have been so many places and on so many hikes. these are so comfy and moisturize wicking. my feet never get too hot and don't get too cold when wearing with wool socks in icey/snow situations or walking around town when it's icey or snowing. don't need to be broken in. after 5 years of hard use, these are still serving me well and have taken a beating and are still just as amazing and have good traction with ankle and foot support. the sole has less traction due to wear but I think I'll have my moab 2s for at least another 3 years before I'll need a new pair. definitely waterproof so long as you dont actually fully submerge your foot. I waded thru a river in these and the outside was still dry, but the inside got wet because of being fully ... MoreI got these in 2017 and have been so many places and on so many hikes. these are so comfy and moisturize wicking. my feet never get too hot and don't get too cold when wearing with wool socks in icey/snow situations or walking around town when it's icey or snowing. don't need to be broken in. after 5 years of hard use, these are still serving me well and have taken a beating and are still just as amazing and have good traction with ankle and foot support. the sole has less traction due to wear but I think I'll have my moab 2s for at least another 3 years before I'll need a new pair. definitely waterproof so long as you dont actually fully submerge your foot. Moab 2 BUY IT

Great traction in rocky steep trails, and snowy areas as well. Always felt secure and confident where I stepped. My feet stayed dry when crossing creeks. I have problem feet with bunions and plantar fasciitis. I wear an woman’s 8.5 normally and ordered a 9. The Wide width gave my feet plenty of space and the footbed felt great after several hours. My heels tend to hurt due to my job being on my feet for long hours and I was concerned there might not be enough cushioning but that was not the case at all. I had no foot aches after wearing for hours on multiple hikes in Utah Wasatch and Unita mountain trails. I ordered a half size larger to account for swelling after long time on my feet and it was perfect. Much disappoint in me boots
20 February 2023
I got these boots as a Christmas gift. It's been cold, so I have only taken them out twice since then. They're already coming apart at the sole, and today both laces finally snapped in half (which made the hike back to my car rather miserable). I've never had an issue with Merrell before, and I've been buying hiking boots from them for over a decade now. But these are garbage. I'm extremely upset that my siblings paid so much for these. They've seen maybe 10 miles total and are in bad shape. I've done nothing different from how I normally hike. I've had Merrell boots go hundreds of miles before showing signs of wear. Not sure if the company has gone downhill or I just got a crappy pair, but it's bad enough that I'm considering switching to a different company for ... MoreI got these boots as a Christmas gift. For comparison, my last boots lasted me from 2016 until fall 2022, when the sole started to give way, and I was hiking at least 5 miles a week (probably averaging closer to 8 miles a week) during those years. Only rating 2 stars because they are more comfortable than previous Merrell boots I've had. Just sucks that they haven't held up as long.... Show more

Ouch! Blisters galore! So disappointed.
25 July 2022
I got these boots to hike the Pemi-loop (30+ miles) and have always heard great things about Merrill and their quality. The first day of the hike, there was an extended downpour and it didn't take long for my boots to audibly "slosh" with every step. They took forever to dry out as we were backpacking. The more disappointing issue had to do with blisters. I wore these boots for hikes/workouts at least a month prior to my backpacking trip and they seemed comfortable (although a bit hot) and my toes seemed happy. After the first day of rain, however, I developed severe and identical blisters on the arch of my foot near the heel - where the insoles hit. The blistering became so severe, I had to take the insoles out entirely. I now plan to replace the original insoles with store-bought ones to see if it helps.Cons:blisters everywhereslightly water-resistant versus waterproofboots make feet feel very hot while hikingPro:Wonderfully grippy outsole- even in the rain! They helped me stick like a toad to slick and dry surfaces (as long as I kept the boots perpendicular to the surface).... Show more

Pep in your step hiking shoes
12 July 2022
I was stuck between these shoes and a pair made by Columbia - needless to say, I decided to take a chance on the Merill boots. What a difference! Don't get me wrong, Columbia's Newton Ridge is comfortable, but it lacks the arch support that Merrill's boots provide. While trying these bad boys on, I could immediately tell the difference between the two. Both shoes are comfortable, but this one provides sufficient arch support while giving you that pep in your step with the added flexibility that will serve you when climbing rocky terrain. The added plus is that the soles are extra thick where sharp objects will have a tough time penetrating through. If I were to go hiking tomorrow, I would without a doubt bring these along with me - might I add they are also much ... MoreI was stuck between these shoes and a pair made by Columbia - needless to say, I decided to take a chance on the Merill boots. So comfortable right out of the box!
11 April 2023
Purchased these and used them for the first time for exploring Carlsbad Caverns in NM and couldn’t be happier! Hiked over 6 miles in the caverns that day and absolutely no blisters or sore areas on my feet or ankles whatsoever! This is huge for me especially with new boots…needed no breaking in time! Very happy and pleased with my purchase…performed awesomely! It was cool in the caverns (50’s) but my feet stayed warm without sweating…my feet and ankles were not even feeling tired at the end of the day! Thank you Merrell for creating a boot that is comfortable, tough & cool to look at too! Performance is key but I wanted a boot that was stylish as well and I think you achieved that! 👍🏻 I purchased the red, tan & black color! Love them!... Show more

Versatile and high quality comfort
7 March 2023
This was a replacement pair I bought because I lost my other pair. I contemplated buying another brand or maybe a cheaper kind of Merrell instead of the Moab. I eventually decided this is the only shoes worth the money. It does not ever need “breaking in.” It is unbelievably comfortable for an all-day hiking adventure, or just walking and being on your feet all day! I’m a big fan of Merrell shoes, and they are my first choice for high quality and comfort for my feet. My feet are closer to flat feet, and my husband has very high arches. He has the Men’s version of the Moab, and has enjoyed it for many years. it is unbelievable how the arch support and cushioning of this shoe can accommodate such a wide range of arches!... Show more
