I work 10 hour shifts doing creek patrol in my patrol vehicle and hiking in and out of the creeks and trails looking for homeless encampments to remove off the creeks and trails.These boots are very comfortable right out of the box and they are very light and breathable. They should be great for this winter because they are water proof. Super super comfortable 👍👍

All I kept finding was the newer model Moab 3 and the listing never specified composite or regular toe. The Moab 2 could be bought in either toe form. So I decided to call Merrell customer service and actually speak to a representative and ask specifically about composite toe. The representative stated the MOAB only came in composite toe. So I place my order with him over the phone. They show up and guess what??!! They are NOT composite toe😞😞. Extremely comfortable right from the first time I put them on. Measured exactly as advertised online and I look forward to seeing how they perform in the winter because the soles are G-R-I-P-P-Y!! Thanks to that vibram product. I'm also impressed at how well they're managing my foot temperatures while I work in 30C+ temps.

I'm a federal officer that recently purchased these boots. After only wearing them for a couple of days, I had to run in them while responding to an incident. Very comfortable. If you are looking for comfort, these boots are the way to go. Also, if you are wearing the green tactical BDU cargo pants from 5.11, these boots match the pants.
Not as good as the previous model, moab 2.0, but still a quality, comfortable boot. This model uses a riveted gusset for the laces, I had one pop off as I was trying them on. Then received a new pair of boots and on day 3 the rivet on a different eye loop came apart. This one isn't detrimental but still annoying. I've had these for two weeks and the left boot still feels like it needs breaking in.
I bought these boots to replace my previous pair of the Moab Tactical Boots. I loved that they felt great right out of the box, and the side zip made it easy to get in and out of the boots quickly. The new boots are well constructed. I don't know if it's a new design, but the new boots felt stiffer and it's very difficult to put the boots on, even with the side zips.
I work in a marine environment. I was looking for comfort and waterproof. These boots work for both. I had to put an insole into the boot to make it fit more snug otherwise it felt tall over my foot. The side zip feels like an after thought since it opens the boot just barely enough to squeeze my foot through. Could use a little more material there. Overall recommend for someone wanting a Tac boot that feels less like a combat boot.
My department ordered this set for me after my MOAB 2's finally went out after 5yrs of use (awesome boot, shouldn't have changed them). These arrive, don't hold a polish at all, and couldn't make it out of the locker room without nearly every eyelet snapping immediately: wasn't even able to put tension on the laces before these cheap plastic molded and pot metal things pretty much dissolved. Not sure what I'm supposed to use for duty boots now if this is the quality we should expect from Merrell going forward.
I typically don’t care to write reviews so that should speak for itself. The Moab 3 boots are what I expected out of Merrell. Comfortable out of the box, takes a shine well if needed, and true to size. The vibrum sole has great traction. As a constructive critique, I would like to see them forego the side zipper and add a quick lace or BOA. I would recommend them if you’re looking for a good boot, especially if they made those changes.
Bought a pair of Moab 3's in November 2023 and after about 3 months I noticed the soles were already coming apart. I contacted Merrell and they sent me a new pair and told me to keep the faulty ones. One month after receiving a replacement pair, these are doing the same thing! I don't walk a foot beat or get into many foot chases so it's not like these are prematurely wearing out. Another buddy of mine had the zipper and eyelet break on his. Very disappointed in the lack of quality of the Moab 3's. Merrell has lost me as a customer.
