Most others are made in EU which increases labor, import, and material costs, but these truly are my new favorite shoes. I wear them whenever weather and the activity permits. They will be sore for the first few weeks as you restart to use the muscles that you have not been using since you were a toddler... It is smooth sailing and you will not want to turn back to those old overly padded ways again. So just my 2 cents for whom ever wants its, but once you go Barefoot you will not want to go back.

I am a size 6.5 but I followed the advice and bought a size 6. When I first put them on, they felt ok I guess. My feet did fit in them, but they were very snug. But when I went for a hike the first time, I had nowhere near enough room in the toe box and I was in massive pain the entire way down the mountain. I was ok going up because of the angle; but on the way down, my toes were being pressed hard into the toe box and I actually did some real damage to my toes. The big toenail on each foot sustained visible damage and they are still black. I just have to wait for it to grow out. I don’t know how the right size would have worked for me, if I would have had enough room in the toe box, but my recommendation would be to just order your regular size. Don’t size down as recommended. I started tying them as loosely as possible, especially down by the toe box, and it has helped, but I still would definitely be much more comfortable in a 6.5. I know I could have returned them and reordered the correct size but I had already taken a long hike in them by the time I realized they were just way too small and I never got around to packing them back up and sending them off. So I have just kept them and decided to try to make them work but it’s really a bummer because I wanted to love them like I loved my old Merrills.

I own a pair of Altra superior and had to go a half size down with those as well.I use these shoes for running and workouts in the gym.My only issue with the shoes is the durability of the outsole. I do a lot of running on the road and have observed flat spots on the outsole. I'm typically really light on my feet and don't have issues with the rubber on my other shoes wearing prematurely. I have the Merrell vapor glove 4, and have used them for many runs over 3-4 years and they only just recently started to get holes in the sole.This shoe - the Vapor Glove 6 is the worst cost to quality ratio of any shoe I have owned. To get holes completely through the sole, after relatively light use, within 3 months is pretty substandard. And, to think they are advertised for any sort of trail running! Unless the trail you are running on is that formed by mountainous clouds as you go skydiving, I would very much say to avoid these shoes.Obvious quality deficits aside - they do feel comfortable, and I like the colour.

I wore the shoes for my first walk this morning and they were very comfortable. I'm 76 and my walks consist of walking my dog around the neighborhood ... on sidewalks ... for about 2 miles. No problems with breaking the shoes in. I've had them on for the rest of the day and they are very comfy. I was afraid to buy shoes online because of not being able to feel the size. The sizing said they ran small and to get 1/2 size up. I'm comfortably an 8.5, I wore the trail glove 6 in 8.5 before buying this and took a risk buying my usual size. I am happy to say that the shoes fit perfectly, comfortable amount of room between the toe and tip of shoe while still being comfortably snug. The shoes toe-box is wide and allows my toes to have a lot of room, the material is flexible enough were I feel like I am truly barefoot. If you are new to barefoot shoes, take things slow before you go running a few miles. The only thing that can be considered bad is maybe the super long laces, but that's an easy fix if you're truly set on your pair. Last week, I bought two pairs of the Vapor Glove 6s -- one men's (olive, size 7.5) and one women's (burlwood, size 9.5).The men's version of the Vapor Glove 6 = great! Fits perfectly, super-comfortable. Love them!The women's version of the Vapor Glove 6 = fits OK, but unfortunately has a weird design flaw that causes pressure points.In the women's model, there seem to be two odd indentations on the exterior side of each shoe, which cause "bumps" on the corresponding locations on the *interior* of the shoe. I felt them as soon as I tried the shoes on, and the pressure points pushed in on my foot even more when I took a step. Or, based on my experience, maybe just across the size 9.5 burlwood-colour line.I'm not sure if those indentations are an attempt to help the shoe fit more snugly for women (?), but I've now sent the 2nd pair of women's Vapor Glove 6s back. Going forward, I'll stick to the men's model, which doesn't have those indentations.Also, as an aside: it would be great to have more bright-colour options in the men's style! :-)
