Eventually got these on today, really happy. Super comfortable very well cushioned. I have broad feet and found them generous in the fit.Decent design always like a ‘practical’ colour way. Had them in all morning with no rubbing or other discomfort.Hopefully a good sign, happy kept them.

I bought these even with negative reviews because I love Merrell and honestly figured some of the reviews came from older folks and maybe I’d be fine. Do not get these shoes. I can’t emphasize enough. They are wildly uncomfortable even on short hikes. I have used them for less than 100 miles so far this summer and they are ripped at the ankles and have a hole in the side already! Wildly disappointed in Merrell and REI should stop selling these — the quality is just not there.

Very disappointing shoes! They seemed light and comfortable in store but wearing them in a daily life is a different story.1) not waterproof! First light drizzle got them soaked right through. Walking on a thing layer of snow is also not safe.2) the most annoying shoelaces I’ve ever encountered. They get undone literally every 10-15 min. How can Merrell come up with a shoelace that doesn’t stay in place? Have they not tested it before implementing?? Bending down every few hundred steps to re-tie the shoelaces is very frustrating.3) the soles wear out very quickly, regardless of the terrain.4) because the shoe is not made sturdy it stretched out pretty quickly. Have to change to the thicker socks now which is not ideal for summer.Overall I’m extremely ... MoreVery disappointing shoes! I’ve worn and loved their footwear for years but this one is definitely not worth the price tag.

When I first put these boots on, I was so surprised by how it felt! It feels like walking on a sponge, but in a good way! Those boots really absorb shocks! It will be great for hiking on uneven ground. These boots also look pretty stylish and can be worn in the city too. Only down side is that I am not sure that these boots will resist rock scratches well, as the outside layer is pretty thin. Something to keep in mind for people who want to do hiking out of the trails. The sizing is perfect, I am normally a size 7 in that brand and this is the size I took. It’s the kind of boot that you don’t need to break at the beginning.
I have been in love with these from the moment I opened the box. I hate boots but needed them for a winter section hike. These feel like trail runners. They breathe but like all boots they are warm. Good for what I will be using them for but wouldn’t recommend for a warmer environment. I tried them with a hose & the got a bit of water but it was on the top. Normal.
Merrell is my go to brand because they seem to fit my slightly wide feet. I stand for 8 hours when working so comfort is key. These were chosen because I needed water proof shoes for biking and biking and for work. These were comfortable right out of the box and have become my most comfortable pair of shoes to wear daily. Highly recommend them!
I’ve been looking for light weight boots for beginner day hikes. I spent the last two years recovering from a foot surgery and a year to heal after botched surgery correction. They remind me of a high top tennis shoe. There is nice flex in the forefoot that again reminds me of a running shoe. Not as heavy or rigid as my Solomon backpacking shoes. I am hoping the Merrill’s get me through some fall and winter hikes and then back into my solo and for intermediate hikes. If they don’t make it as hiking shoes they feel like they might be good for my RN work shoes. The length is good, the toe box has just enough height and very nice width. Lots of nice heal support and cushion.
Firstly the service from Startfitness is 5* from ease of purchase to super fast delivery. Now to my first walking boots.Am so impressed with the fit and the comfort they are amazing! They are like a glove on my feet. When buying your first ever walking boots these have proved to be a fantastic choice and would recommend 100%Walked In rain all day and feet dry warm and nothing hurt, Ankle or feet which when you've never bought walking boots before was a worry! But am super impressed and very Happy!
Bought these specifically for moderate hiking and general tromping around. Wound up wearing them on a long flight and cobblestone streets as well. No break in time. Get em. Wear em. Cushioned just right, roomy toe box, solid support. My wife and I both got them and agreed it was the best purchase.
I am surprised that REI sent me this product! The blue stripe that attaches to the while out sole is detaching from the shoe. These are supposed to be waterproof and I can not say I would trust this to be true with the detached outsole. The shoe is nice looking and if I just needed a cute boot I would have kept them but I need them for a winter hike. I have never needed to buy a product online that had to be returned to the store! I don't live near an REI and that is why I ordered online. It seems the way of the world today where companies feel it is ok to sell defective products and make it our problem. I like the store but not sure I will buy from REI online again.
