This game is simply amazing. The Special edition has a great Steel book case, Art book and card set that I plan to frame. If you are a Metroid fan and can find this I suggest you pick it up. My only negative is the poor shipping from Wal-Mart for my COLLECTORS edition the exterior box was damaged which is a huge disappointment. Due to limited availability of this item there was no option for an exchange.

Pre-ordered the game, and it arrived the same day it was released which was a pleasant surprise. Well packaged, and with no damage or anything. The special edition is very well made. The artwork is beautiful, and the game itself is very addicting. I havent played a metroid game since Super Metroid on the SNES, and this brings me back to those days putting countless hours into the game with friends. Can probably be completed in 5 hours or so, but if you want to complete it 100%, it will take a lot longer!

I am discovering the Metroid franchise with Dread and I really enjoyed it. I bought the Special edition because I love seeing the game artworks. This edition in particular is nice because the book has 190 pages I think and it's a large book with a hard cover. Some details are moving in the background, cool lighting effects, etc... really well done!The game give me some hard times with some of the bosses for example! But if you observe them correctly and play with Samus new skills, it's doable and it brings so much satisfaction when you beat them. On the other hand, good luck to find all the hidden items! I couldn't get them all... I'm not skilled enough I'm afraid. I will give it another try after I completely finish the game.I personally been playing 12 hours and I am about the fight the final boss. It's not so long to be honest... I wish the game has some replayability options at some point... Because I couldn't see any multi-player or anything like that could extent the game lifetime.Overall very happy and I strongly recommend it. If you are hesitating and you are reading this comment, go for it, you won't regret it.
Good Points: The atmosphere is top notch, the cutscenes short and brilliant. Samus (the player character) has perfect controls, and once most movement-improving items have been acquired, an absolute delight to steer through the maze-like maps. Boss battles are both fun and quite challenging.Pro controller recommended!Improvement Points: Game was a bit short, and in certain situations holding the player's hand a bit too much, unexpected for this genre.Background music wasn't quite as iconic as expected from the series.
