Meze Liric 2 Over Ear Headphones

Best headphones I've ever had (previous were Oppo PM3).Balanced sound, good bass, the fast response typical of planar magnetic, crisp vocals and percussion, excellent detail.Good sound isolation, in both directions.The weight is noticeable, but the excellent design still makes them comfortable.Easy to drive. I can use my 1/2 watt (balanced output) Hiby R6 III on either low gain with high volume, or medium gain with less volume. High gain is not required.Not perfect, but I know of no headphone that is, in the following regard. I wear eyeglasses, and the sound with them on is a bit different. Mostly in the bass.There are some excellent $500 headphones, and it's a personal choice whether you want to spend $2K for this improvement. At this point what you would consider "best" is very much a personal matter, and the quality of the sound, of course, becomes more dependent on the recording than the playback. With a truly excellent recording, these are amazing, you can hear the benefit of that recording clearly.

Nice bright and little bit natural sound profile with a focus on clarity and detail, while still offering a warm and engaging listening experience…A good bass only when needed

Beautifully crafted headphones, presentation was exceptional which is expected from Meze. Fit: comfortable, earcups are so plush, my head is on the small side so these will fall off if I look down. Sound: I’m older (nearing 60) so this probably has a lot to do with it but they seem a bit dull to me. They are not as fun, bright and energetic as my Meze 109Pro’s. I had done my research so I kind of expected this warmth. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not necessarily a negative- they are still very enjoyable but coming off of my 109’s- they take some time to get used to. I will continue to use both, the Liric II is needed when I don’t want to bother others.

Excellent yet diff from first

Not an audiophile but 1 upper mid and treble I feel like few db louder hence may result in fatigue after long listeningFor 2 everything was lower but not to the extent it’s smooth vocal and treble feels more distant and easy listeningI liked both it serve me different purpose depends my mood
