When I heard about the Pro lex keyboard, I had to get it. What got my attention, it was wireless. That means it could be used detached from the unit. And that is a great idea. The Surface Keyboards are among the best I have ever used. They are skinny and weigh next to nothing. Making it wireless is the logical step and it really enhances the experience with the Surface. That made using it a little awkward in certain situations. You could get a wireless keyboard separately but that defeats the purpose of portability. If you could detach the keyboard from the display, that would give you the ability of orient the system to whatever conditions you are working in (for example, sitting in your vehicle). Also, it makes the arrangement more comfortable for the user. With the keyboard and display separate, you can use the surface in any position that works for you. This also emphasis that the Surface is not a laptop...it is a desktop. With the same, if not more, computing power at you finger tips. And the keyboard is so easy to type on and the mouse pad is even better than a standard mouse. And like I said, it weighs next to nothing. In other words, you have a complete system that when you are done, you put it back together, fold it up like a laptop, and put it in your knapsack or case or what ever you carry it around in. And I noticed a few other improvements. The mouse pad is a little larger, When the keyboard is attached to the unit, it does not obscure the task bar and the Pen placement is not hidden under the hinge like the previous keyboards, giving you easy access to it when you need it. The keyboard is a touch thicker because of the blue tooth and battery, but that is something you really don't notice. All in all, every Surface user should have this. It makes for the ultimate experience in the Surface Arena. Microsoft...you just outdid yourselves.

Very happy with this keyboard, I really like being able to detach it and keep using it, eg when marking up a document with a pen in vertical mode i can still easily issue the occasional keyboard shortcut.
