The Add Laundry function is useless because all the water is pumped out, so to add one item of clothing it’s a waste of water. For the machine I bought, I haven’t been able to open the door for three days since I tried to add laundry. The washing program doesn’t switch off even if you unplug the machine for 24 hours. I’ve tried all the troubleshooting tips and read the user manual. So now I have a load of washing in the machine that I can’t access for a washing machine I paid $1700 for.

This is my first front loader. It is hard to adjust to the long washing cycles and so far I have not found a solution to why my towels do not come out of the machine all soft after searching and trying several ideas. It was a surprise to learn some cycles were limited by weight e.g. dark clothes 3kgs. So it is a change I am getting used and hoping as claimed the front loaders are better washers and care for the fabric.

Service Technician advised that there may be a bad batch of controller boards as he had several similar issues at the same time. Was so excited to buy my first Miele after being told it is the best, only to find that it has barely half the features my cheap Samsung toploader did. VERY limited wash settings with nothing for bedding and heavy duty. Cotton setting is 2hours 50mins!!! Does not countdown remaining time of cycle so you have no either when it will finish, makes no sound whatsoever when it does finish. On the very first day it gave me F220 error which forced me to "clean" the filter at the very base of the machine which when I opened the lid poured out all the water it didn't drain. To my shock this is normal apparently and you are meant to put a tray to catch the water. Hmmmm how about all the households who can't elevate the machine and have it straight on the floor??? I made the decision to compromise somewhat on capacity in the hope that this Miele machine will last longer than my previous two. The biggest problem I have with this washing machine is that it does not hold 8kg of (dry) washing. I cannot physically fit 8kg of mixed items (t-shirts, underwear, socks) into the drum of this machine. The true capacity, without overloading the machine is somewhere around 6.5kg. That is a huge loss of capacity compared to my previous machine of 11kg and 1.5kg less than the advertised capacity of this machine. Other than that the machine is good. If not overloaded, it washes well and is very quiet. I mostly run the long cycles overnight (4 hours for the most energy and water efficient) using the delay start function and it does not wake the household. The shirts & pre-ironing functions are fantastic, school shirts now get washed and dried on hangers without the need to iron. The machine does not beep at the end of cycle and there is no way to turn this on. The power saving settings turn the display off after 10 minutes which is annoying as you can't just peep in to see how long there is left on the cycle. This can be turned off according to the manual. Overall I am disappointed in the capacity of this washing machine and so far it's not worth the price premium for this brand. I may change my mind on that if it lasts the distance.
I cannot recommend this machine The towels come out like scratchy boards even when you use a lower spin speed the door randomly won’t unlock and you have to drain the machine for it to unlock. The wash time is excessive. You have to dry the seal and the detergent drawer after every wash or it smells. If you use the shortest wash the machine then lets you know that for hygiene reasons you need to use a longer wash with higher temperature water. I’m going back to a top loader.

First day of use... Ran a cycle and it seemed to finish. Turned the knob to off and went out. Door locked and can't get in. Manual is useless. One sentence says "can't change cycles" and the next says "how to change cycles." Now the machine has water in it and we can't move it. But if we try to get it to empty and a pin, we get the absurd spinning the lights pattern without end. What happened to intelligent testing and verification of claims?
Purchased the new Miele 8kg front loader machine for our daughter. It replaced the old Miele front loader which had been hard at work for 24 years!!!! It had been moved several times to new houses and/or towns. The only time it faltered was after the travel bars were incorrectly fitted and chopped up the wiring. It still functioned but was struggling. The service technician was very impressed. These machines are amazing and highly recommended. Daughter is very happy with the new WWD 120 and still using it every day. John R

However my favourite feature (the 40-minute fast wash) of the old machine is not available in the new machine. This WWD 120 offers a 20-minute fast wash pre-set, but it will not spin the clothes at the fastest speed, so they're still damp at the end of the wash. I need to manually set a drain & spin cycle (another 12 mins) to wring all the water out. This fuss of having to perform 2 manual operations for the same end result (something that was covered by a single pre-set in the old machine) is annoying. I'd appreciate the electronic smarts of this machine much more if there was a function to manually override them.
